Modern university library with large areas to study and staff onsite to help.

I spent far too much time here. And while I have enjoyed every second there are few pet peeves I have. First, the library is gorgeous, modern and generally great. Learning spaces are awesome as well.
Sadly the shop is far too overpriced with a lacking selection of foods. It also closes randomly for up to 2 hours without prior notice.
The second reason is the treatment of the computers inside. I took liking to the iMacs by Apple on the first floor only to find out they were not updated for 2 years now! The IT department refuses to update the OS and the software on it meaning the computers still run old version of the Adobe suite or Microsoft Office.
The 5K screens are sprayed by the cleaning staff and often not cleaned properly and so they look like someone kept touching them with greasy fingers. Yuck!

Definitely one of the best libraries in the northeast. It's open 24-7 for students (8-midnight in summer) and has really friendly and approachable staff. You can enter as a non-student with ID between certain times too. Great selection of books and journals and a mix of silent and social areas depending on your needs. Thoroughly recommend!

One of the best university libraries I have ever been despite the old building. The newly-furnished basement is a must visit, and if you're lucky enough to be able to compare the one before renovation, it's a big surprise there

This library has great facilities; basement offers a relaxed place to work with a small convenience store; a number of the floors have silent studies if you really want to get your head down; there are multiple places for you to work with your laptop (as I have been doing whilst writing my dissertation and final piece of coursework and the staff are very helpful.

Great library, recently renovated so quite smart and comfortable. Only downfall is that I am not yet used to the alternate gender toilets being on every other floor. So male toilets only available on 6th floor, ladies toilets only available on 5th floor, male toilets 4th floor, ladies toilets on 3rd floor etc.

Recently re-furbished basement makes studying here as plesent as it can be.
There are also group booths which are soundproofed.
