Reviews of The Pottery Experience
Honestly couldn't recommend enough. Took my 5 year old daughter today and we had the best time. Loads of items to choose from so good for different ages and budgets. I chose a mug and she chose a child's mug. You get 2 hours to paint and we did use the full time and it kept us both occupied and busy throughout. Staff were very friendly and the whole experience was amazing. It had a lovely relaxed vibe and everything was so colourful. Will definitely visit again.
Did the full experience of pottery throwing and then painting a month later. The staff were really good at explaining everything well and giving you all the information and inspiration you need. I'd definitely do this experience again and would recommend the pottery throwing too instead of just painting as it means you get your own unique piece!
Great experience. Staff were lovely, Lucy was patient, helpful and chatty. Would definitely recommend it. Fingers crossed our pots turn out OK!! X
Really cute little place, where you can paint and make pots. They've got cake and drinks available to order as well.
We booked a session on the pottery wheels and Hazel showed us how to throw pots, she's a really patient, enthusiastic and supportive teacher.
Had a really great afternoon here and we're quite pleased with the little pots we made, looking forward to returning to paint them!
A lovely little pottery cafe. Would highly recommend as a fun, creative afternoon activity. They have a wide selection of items to paint and at reasonable prices too. The staff were also friendly and helpful. I'm excited to go back for a throwing class!
Had an amazing time pottery painting! So affordable and the the staff are so friendly. Would recommend to anyone!
The Pottery Experience has been a joy from beginning to end end.
I spite of a pandemic getting in the way we managed to throw our own pots, collect a glazing kit to complete at home and then we have our finished articles today.
Superb organisation, very friendly staff and great fun.
I can't recommend the experience more highly.
Francesca (aged 11) and Michael (aged 57).
The Pottery Experience is such a lovely place in Jesmond - I have been many times and enjoy it more each time. Great for going with friends or on your own, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The coffees and food are delicious. There are lots of items to paint/make to choose from, & priced very reasonably. Recommend 100%!
Absolutely love coming to this little pottery place. We've been three times now to paint pottery, and just today have been to throw clay - which was really fun. Staff are brilliant and so helpful.
The shop is Covid safe in that staff wear masks or visors if they're going to be near you, handwashing and use of hand gel is heavily encouraged, and all surfaces are cleaned after each person has finished their activity.
Shop is really accessible in terms of access, with parking outside the shop (no designated blue badge bay however bays are a reasonable size), door frame is wide enough to fit a large electric wheelchair through, and although the shop is on two levels, the staff always make sure you have a table downstairs if you're unable to manage the stairs. Toilet is up a full flight of stairs do not accessible to those who are unable to climb stairs, however, there are places nearby that have happily let us use their toilets before. All round we've had some brilliant afternoons here, and hopefully more to come in the future!
Great morning making some pots and fun experience. Liam was a good and patient tutor.
Forget meditation..... Go to The Pottery Experience and paint or throw or both!!!!
Best way we have all found to shut off and just enjoy some time relaxing. Everyone that works there is fun, funny and easy to hang out with!!!!!
We went 6 weeks ago for the first time and have been every two weeks since. I just cannot recommend this place enough!!!!!!
And....... the more you go the better you get.... and that is just an added bonus!!!!!
Absolutely amazing!
The staff are so welcoming and accommodating of all abilities (or none, in my case!) I've been several times now, made some pots on the wheel, some Christmas decorations, and a plant pot. They hold monthly building workshops which are excellent value for money!
The main reason I love it here is how relaxing the environment is, from the music to the decor. Everything you need to make and paint masterpieces is provided, and staff are on hand to help you ensure your pieces are wonderful. You can also paint ready made pottery from about £10 for a mug. I've got my eye on the nacho/dip bowl!
I'm a very highly strung type A personality who is always over thinking, always on edge, struggles to relax, but going here has given me several hours of peace and tranquillity which I've never achieved anywhere else, and you can't put a price on that! Anything or anywhere that stops me thinking about work for a couple of hours deserves all the success in the world 😀
Gorgeous pottery painting experience for a friend's Baby Shower - Hazel and the other lovely staff couldn't have been more helpful, the drinks and cakes were plentiful, and the space was relaxed and friendly! Lots of exceptionally useful templates and example pottery pieces - a superb way to spend a mindful, chill afternoon creating something hand made 😁 no worries/pressure about being a gifted artist! We'll definitely be back, and might brave bringing along my little Beddie for some paw print pottery ☺ Thanks!
Visited the pottery experience today for a taster throwing session today, and it was fab!
Hazel was great! Very knowledgable and patient with us. We have booked in our time to go back and paint in 2 weeks already and can't wait to visit again
Best way to spend an afternoon!! So therapeutic, a beautiful space and genuinely lovely, local people working there. I was worried I wouldn’t know what to paint but there is so much inspiration available in the shop with books and folders full of things to go by, that really helped me. Will 100000% be going back as soon as physically possible. Loved it!!
Fantastic experience. Staff so helpful and knowledgeable. Cant wait to go back and paint our creations.
We had a really fun session on the potters wheel learning the basics of how to throw a pot. Hazel gave us full step by step instructions before letting us loose and was on hand to give one on one guidance!
If you're in the area I’d thoroughly recommend checking out this gem of a place run by some lovely people.
Absolutely incredible in every way. Hazel and Oli are amazing, so professional and patient with beginners! I had my hen party here and had a fantastic time. I can't recommend it enough.
Had a lovely time for our first pottery making experience. Hazel is fantastic teacher and was very knowledgeable and friendly making it a really fun experience. Would definitely recommend.
Jesmond’s little gem! A great introduction to pottery making. Staff were warm and welcoming. Suitable for all ages and abilities. Highly recommend.
I brought my mam for her birthday, we both thoroughly enjoyed it, would definitely recommend it x
Very enjoyable afternoon on 3rd July, have just received the finished items and I'm really pleased with them.
Beautiful little venue and a really fun experience. Hazel & the team are brilliant at what they do and make you feel very welcome. Thanks guys!
Great place, lovely helpful staff. Great way to spend a few arty hours.
A favourite place of ours! Always the best time when we are there and everyone is incredibly kind and so welcoming.
Hazel was really patient and helpful. Would recommend to anyone arty or not!
Lovely people and a lovely little place, such a fun activity for the weekend!!
Really good fun and looking forward to painting them!
Had a perfect family morning of creative fun
