I have had dogs since I was a lad when a tin of Pal was considered all that was necessary and the best a dog could hope for and expect. But like all things food science progresses, dog food no exception. Just had some really good nutrition advice for my new ‘best mate’ turns out for his breed he needs a certain type of food, for his skin and coat. So I left the shop armed with the suggested food and though I would put some in his bowl (he had left part of his food from this morning and wham he loves it - so huge thanks to Justine brilliant

We've just adopted a dog and met the foster carers here to buy some basics. I found it can be as cheap as you want or as high end as you like. The choice seems endless and the staff really make the visit worthwhile. We will certainly use it again.

Impeccable service, friends of ours their dog had 2 puppies yesterday, all seemed great, they'd latched on etc. Tonight 1 seemed distressed and they thought she might not have been feeding right. Contacted the newport iow store and simply asked if anyone lived close to Freshwater that could deliver some dog milk formula. Hollie said yes... delivered the formula and syringes, sadly by the time she arrived the little pup had passed away. My wife and I turn up to console the owners to find Hollie trying everything in her power to revive the pup. Sadly to no avail, her comforting demeanour to the owners was unprecedented, totally calm professional and kind. I know this is not a service your stores offer, but for a member of your staff to take her time and her effort for others is truly a credit to the young lady first and you as a company for employing legends 👏 simply blown away, blown away. Unbelievable x

The customer service skills of the young lad that served me today at around 11am were of a really high standard. From the friendly great on the front door to helping me download the app at checkout. We desperately needed some dog pants as our Chihuahua had just come into season halfway through a family holiday. Not idea, so we rushed to the shop but would only get there a couple mins after they closed on Bank Holiday weekend Sunday (16:00). I plead our case to an extremely helpful assistant named Katie over the phone and she spoke to her manager explaining our situation. We arrived at 16:05 to find they had stayed open and allowed us to make our purchase!! I cannot thank them enough, if this isn't Grade A service, I don't know what is. They had what we wanted, they stayed open and went above and beyond. Highly recommended.

Went in today to buy a separate cage, and get advice about my daughters hamsters that were fighting. We bought the hamsters from pets at home and set up originally in Dec 20. So today, the team were amazing. One male member of staff (can't remember his name), went above and beyond for us today, sorted us with a cage for free to help separate the hamsters and gave me some really good advice on how to deal with the situation. Usually get all my supplies from pets at home, ( I have fish, birds, hamsters and a cat) and the whole team and always super friendly and helpful! Can't thank you enough

Excellent store with a wide range of products on offer. The staff that I met (Carley and man but I can't remember his name) went above and beyond to help me. I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback/doberman rescue and he has anxiety in public places as well as being as strong as a bull. They took their time and handled the situation brilliantly. Especially when he was barking while trying on a new harness. Returns policy is also impeccable because he broke a pretty sturdy lead but I had no issues when I asked for a refund.

Well laid out store. The staff have a genuine interest in animals, and have always been very helpful and knowledgeable on the products and animals. During school holidays they usually do a petting session with the animals in store, which is a really nice touch.

Pet knowledge is excellent from the staff however their aquatic range is shrinking which is a shame as it use to be a pleasure to view the range of tropical fresh water fish and they were all in very good condition. We were shopping for supplies for our first puppy, who we collect in four weeks time. The first thing we noticed were the friendly customers chatting with us about their dogs, asking about ours, letting us pet their puppies etc. We were approached by several members of staff asking if we needed help, and checking we'd downloaded the app for the associated discounts. The ladies on the till were similarly nice and helpful, enthusiastic about our impending arrival, and wanting to see photos. A lovely start to our puppy-owning journey!

Me and my brother bought a guinea pig each mine was Ant his was Dec. Dec caught a stroke after 2 yrs and sadly passed, the same happened to Ant the next year. Other than that, very cheap food, straw, hay etc.

Big store with loads of items in there. I can only give a four star rating though as I went in for doggy/puppy ice-cream, spent over £35.00 to find the don't stock any ice-creams!
