Took my bearded dragon Tango here last week to get him a new bulb... Was like he was famous 😆 He is gorgeous tho & loves attention so all good.

Such a helpful store, Shelley was fantastic she found a colleague to help with flea & worming and that colleague was very knowledgeable. Shelley then helped me register our new puppy in the App and the found some voucher codes and got us the free puppy food for adding our puppy to VIP pets none of which I was aware of. So helpful and friendly Shelley was a fantastic a credit to the pets at home team.

The manager went above and beyond what was expected of him to help me when I arrived just as he was about to close on a Sunday . I desperately needed a cat carrier for kittens I was collecting . He kindly let me pick one up so I could bring the kittens back to Bridgend. He was a star and saved the day for me 😊

Product-wise, Pets at Home have a good variety of items and they are decent quality, even if the prices are a bit above average. Pet-wise, Pets at Home are a lot better than what they were. They seem to have changed supplier recently and the overall health of the rodents have improved. Not sure about the fish, although I do hope they are also in better condition. The staff are friendly, and the lady helping me purchase a hamster had decent knowledge of rodents. Photo is of the sweetheart I chose to take home. His name is Geoffrey and he has a very fluffy bum.

Super friendly staff and the lady who served me was very personable and really attentative to the fish. She said "sorry" to every one as they left the water in the net for like 2 seconds. Was also really patient catching the 10 amano shrimp I bought. Staff were friendly and acted interested at the tills too. Great staff.

Excellent friendly, knowledgeable staff, we went for a couple of fish, nearly walked away with a rabbit!! Highly recommend. I gave 3 stars, because on a whole I can't fault the selection of pet supplies and the staff are helpful and polite. I would have given more, but their live bug section is very poor, they either have no stock or the stock they do have, is not good. Most of the bugs are dead, mainly hoppers and locusts..

We visited the store today to grab supplies for our cat....a neighbour had locked her in the house for 4 weeks....very poorly girl as a result....the lady who looked after us was AMAZING! I didn't get her name but she told me she was once a care manager in Cardiff. She couldn't do enough for us! Keep hold of her....she is doing you proud!!!!

Always friendly staff who appear to love animals. One issue I have with pricing is they sell royal canin dog food in three sizes 2,4,and 8kg bags. Each bag is more cost effective than the smaller ones, sometimes they have an offer on the 2 smaller sized bags where if you buy 2 you get a discount. However it's never cheaper than just buying the bigger bag, and as the biggest bag is never on offer it is a completely pointless offer that basically trys to trick people into buying something on "offer" that is actually more expensive. Love the staff though and rated 5 stars for them

Always helpful and friendly. They never have a queue standing to long where possible. The ladies always jump on the till and always friendly chat when serving. Nice store to visit

Live food such as mealworms are usually infested with fruit fly larvae and mites, the dermestid beetles that come with the crickets aren't so bad as they're expensive to come by but the mites they attract in standard conditions aren't worth the hastle. Back when they had reptiles their care was shocking as most of the Hardy reptiles they kept had dead feeders marinating in the enclosures and tail rot, though general care has gotten slightly better in recent times. Great selection of commercial food for rodents, cats and dogs though with alot of natural, healthy treats. The enclosures they sell for rodents and lagomorphs do not meet the legal requirements and doesn't allow the animals to achieve their 5 freedoms. Frozen feeder mice are generally okay though I have had a few with tumours and growths. The employees are very friendly and willing to help but don't forget these workers aren't trained to give you accurate, up to date advice or care, they're trained to provide their service to the store. The adoption area is usually empty and I wouldn't advise buying their more commercial rodents as they're often aggressive due to bad genetics, inbreeding from rodent mills and lack of handling. The employees will sell you multiple dwarf hamsters to keep in the same enclosure but do NOT keep them together as this will inevitably cause death from aggressive, territorial behaviour and you may just find that your lovely little hamsters have cannibalised one another

Great amount of supplies for my puppy. It was really helpful to have a specific section just for them. Reason for 4 stars is that the prices are expensive for some items, however some are cheap. It depends on what you look at. Staff are very nice. I nipped in at 7:45pm, and managed to get hold of a crate (My puppy had suddenly decided to eat a doormat!). They offered to help me with it to the car. I appreciated their chatter, it was a good experience.

A wonderful place to visit for any pet owner. Packed full of stuff your pets (and you) will love and the prices are really good too. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We have also used the vets in this particular store. We have a one year old English Springer and they have looked after him from his very first injections, they have always treated him as if he was their own pet. What more could you ask. Would recommend this store to anybody.

Visited here when I wanted to buy some accessories and a new tank for our fish. Issy was very knowledgable and helpful especially with the bombardment of questions she faced from me. Came to buy stuff for my new puppy. I found the staff really helpful, and I had to indulge and buy extra bits. I forgot my loyalty card so unlike the previous review I was glad they had my mobile number as they put it all on my card. This was my first time here and I'll be back. Usually go to the one in Bristol near to where I work.

Iam in the shielding group due to underlying health issues, as such, my partner is too. Was worried about things we needed to buy in preperation for out little rescue dog arriving. Called the shop at Newport and spoke to a lovely Lady called Beth. Beth was absolutely brilliant.. I wrote a list of what we needed, called her when we were parked outside and the note left on the windscreen and within minutes everything we needed was brought out and left safely on the car bonnet as I'd requested. Can't thank Beth enough.. such a happy and helpful person.

I called in for a selection of pet supplies. Cat, Dog and Fish. Definitely not the cheapest but always a good selection and 1 stop pet shopping was what I was looking for. They delivered on this as usual. Things went wrong at the till when I was miss charged and overpaid by a little over £10 for my shopping. I queried this after checking my reciept and it was corrected. But it took 2 people to sort and neither apologised for the error. This could have been a 5 star review with a simple apology but they really didn't appear to care that I had been overcharged and made me feel like an irritation for questioning my bill.

Great store. I have found that this particular one has many products that are harder to get in say Cwmbran and Cardiff. I also love the fact they have trollies to use too if you are like me and buy a lot. Great service but not as friendly as the staff in cwmbran.
