New puppy and new friends. One of very few places the has everything for your pet under one roof. Veterinary services included. Puddin loves the place, but mainly because of all the attention she gets.

Can't lie, pet shops aren't really my thing. Plenty to look at in here if pets shop do happen to be your thing though. Upstairs is the consultation area and whenever I have been sent by the wife to pick up treatments for the dog or they have needed procedures the prices seem acceptable and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

Slightly better layout than before, animals are higher up so you can see them better. Layout of shop is slightly confusing as cat section is split into 3 bits and not sign posted. Good prices for cat toys and food. I go here to donate my recycling to the Hallswood charity box upstairs. Update 20.08.2021 4 Rabbits, 3 gerbils, Russian dwarf hamsters and some guides pigs for sale.

Took my dog to see the vet Sergio. I cannot rate him highly enough. My dog is quite nervous at the vets but a He was amazing and helped keep my dog calm and he was able to give her a thorough checkup to ascertain what was wrong.

Overall: Really nice service, I recommend. Staff: super professional, they give you every information on your pet. They are also funny and always happy to help. Services: there is a veterinary inside (how cool is that?). The labelling on the stuff for small pets is incredible, any item has a symbol saying if the items can be used for the respective pet.

I have taken my dogs to the Pets at Home vets for many years they are excellent and very caring. Sadly I lost Cassie my Cairn terrier last year aged 14 she had kidney failure a month ago her daughter Tess was hit by a car in a freak accident and also had to be put down. The care of the reception staff and vets of me and my dogs was exceptional. They were very compassionate and made the experiences on both occasions very stress free at a time when I was feeling very upset. Highly recommended. Thank you so much.

I usually shop here fine with no problems, and the actual vets in companion care are fantastic. Sadly a receptionist at the veterinary part let them down today. I ordered my dogs flea and worm treatment on Thursday and it said it would be ready in 48 hours, so Saturday I had the day off so I went to pick it up. The receptionist when I came upstairs was really stand offish and told me that it’s skeleton staff on a Saturday so in future don’t ever do this again, as she doesn’t have time for this. I said I was so sorry as I didn’t realise. I got my dogs treatment, and as I left I said sorry again, and she just snorted and spun around in her chair turning her back to me. She made me feel really guilty for something I didn’t realise, and I left feeling really embarrassed and uncomfortable.

Went here to buy more tropical fish for our tank having first visited last December (2017). Staff are very helpful and they have a nice selection available. Particularly like how their live plants are vacuum sealed as opposed to being in a large tank of water like most aquatic places. Would recommend and although we have sufficient fish would go back if needed.

Decent size store with loads of stock. The only place we can get the cat litter we have but also good deals on bulk buy pet food. Never enough staff on the tills so be prepared to que for a while, that really isn't the end of the world but a bit irritating when you are in a rush.

I'm a frequent visitor here for dog treats, dog food, the vets upstairs (Companion Care) and general dog paraphernalia. Although it's not the cheapest (but by no means expensive), the range of products is great, they almost always have what I'm looking for, there's always a little something that I see that I know would be good for the dog, and generally the staff are really helpful, happy, well trained and polite people. So, it's a bit of a pay for what you get with PAH, I find; not the cheapest, but excellent service and choice.

Uses the standard layout of a Pet at Home store. The store is wheelchair friendly and has loads of room between isles. Usual wide collection of animal related merchandice and also sells small animals and fish. The associated vets is good and can handle most things. The staff of both the main store and the vets clinic are generally very friendly and reasonably knowledgeable.

The staff are very helpful and are happy to help to carry heavy things to you car for you, I go once a month to baulk buy. The vouchers are great too which help with costs if you join the members VIP club. The online service is also great with home delivery.

Had a family pet unfortunately put to sleep here. Lady on the phone was very helpful and gave alot of info beforehand. The vet was very understanding and professional during the sad part. (Gave us time etc.) When going to pay and then a week later, going to pick up ashes, the receptionists didn't seem to comprehend why we were there (to pay for a euthanasia and cremation and then to pick up ashes) they seemed smiley and like they were simply handing over a bag of clothing over a counter, not the cremated remains of a family pet. This was a shame as a little compassion or a "sorry for your loss" would have been appreciated, rather than her "cheers, see you soon" attitude.

It's got everything you'd expect from a decent pet store, plenty of choice of food and toys and housing for smaller animals. They have loads of fish, and tanks and all the accessories, they have a good display of the rabbits and guinea pigs and other rodents, it's good they have an onsite vet at the back too. Free parking n lots of it. In the middle of a retail est too so lots of other places to visit whilst you're there.

Sometimes, yes its busy there, but I think the staff do a good job, considering working for such a large business they are probably understaffed most of the time. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, no problems there. Regarding the bad review by Emilia Hedhili, if you are going to give a business a bad review do it in a way that we can understand. I had a headache after reading yours. Other reviewers- you don't like the condition of the animals - it is a huge chain selling a huge number of animals. A one stop shop for animal, cage, food, books etc etc..., everything you need in one short shopping trip!! What do you expect? You get what you pay for. Why don't you use local, small scale breeders for the animals? and Pets at Home for the accessories? My small animals are from another owner who's female had babies, they were the proper age, which I don't believe is always the case at PAH, and are a lot stronger and healthier because I paid a couple of pounds more.

The vetinary service was very good and professional when I needed some help with a lump that had appeared on my Syrian hamster. Well stocked. Nice staff. The only thing I would change is the cage sizes in store and for sale for the rodents. Far too small, and no wonder people complain of their pets biting on the cages to escape. Edit: 14 July 2019: Since last posting my review, Pets at Home are now stocking much larger cages for rodents. I am so pleased and impressed that pets at home have taken on the feedback of their customers and prioritised the welfare of their animals over profits. My Syrian recently had to be euthanized at an old age of 2.5 years as the aforementioned lumps had worsened. The vetinary team were so empathetic, understanding, and sensitive to the subject. I got another Syrian just a few days ago, and Wynnona who sold me the hamster even asked if I had a big enough cage, and gave me all the care information even though I knew it already - just to make sure I guess. The staff are obviously now being very well trained animal care which is lovely to see. I wouldn't shop at another pet supply store now.

Good selection of pet foods including live food for reptiles, bedding, accessories, medications and kennels, hutches, cages etc. Stocks fish, tropical & cold water, rabbits and chinchillas, Guinea pigs, rats, reptiles, hamsters and gerbils. It has an in-store Vets and a machine to engrave pet tags. They run a points/loyalty scheme too. Generous free parking.

Been going here for years, always clean and tidy but they freely allow for owners of larger pets to come and go in store. Occasionally there is a little longer than expected wait at the tils but thats usuall because thay are caring for the animals in store first. Well worth a look if you have the need.

Usually knowlagble staff and 99% are pet owners themselves, there is a vet facility on the second floor. But never used them but heard good things about them. Friendly staff but VERY slow on tills. They cater for exotic pets too meaning lizards but I usually find dead locusts in the tubs and struggle to get a good pack for my lizard. Many accessories for fish and cats and dogs, rabbits, guniea pigs. Nice and clean shop. Animals for sale look healthy and happy
