I’m a regular customer at Central New and Cards, but today they went above and beyond their usual friendly service. I was making a purchase for £5.80, but the staff member pointed out that I could get exactly what I wanted for a cheaper purchase of £2.20, thus saving me £3.60. I can’t think of many shops that would do themselves out of a bit extra cash.

The staff here went above and beyond to help me when I was in need of a very specific card. The lady who manages the card side of the shop, Sue, showed me all of the available options and said that she could also call up the card companies they stock if I didn't like the selection they had in. They also sell magazines, newspapers, confectionery, cigarettes, lottery and other things. Nice to see a family run shop that provides great customer service.

Can't rate this shop highly enough they sell an amazing selection of beautiful cards to suit every occasion plus beautiful wrapping paper, gift boxes and an amazing selection of magazines but what really makes this shop special is the staff who are always so friendly and helpful 💗 Thank you to Simon and all the staff who always greet us with a smile and always make everyone feel so welcome. It's always a pleasure to come into Central News because we know that the greetings are always genuine 💗

Having been looking for a 2020 diary at the big supermarkets, Tesco, Asda etc and also the local Co-op I returned to Central news where I got this year's diary from. At last.....a no nonsense diary, I'll probably be back next year for my 2021 diary. On another note, whilst waiting to be served there was a little old lady being served at the head of the queue. Although the shop was busy the assistant was prepared to spend time chatting to the old lady who seemed in no hurry to leave. At first I was irritated but then just moved to another till to pay. I realised that this contact for the old lady may have been her only contact for the whole day, maybe the assistant had realised this too? But that's the kind of shop this is, if only more assistants were prepared to take the time with the elderly

Great shop. Went out of their way to order in the magazine I was after and called me when it arrived. Not had such good customer service in a long while!
