D. A.I tend to come here regularly (2x a week) and stock tends to vary frequently. The manga selection is well organised and they have a huge collection of funko pops, they could be all organised into one section as that would make it easier to find them, but other than that, the store is well taken care of and for anyone looking for manga/comics, anime related, marvel related, they’ve got plenty for a person to browse through.
R. D.Nerd paradise! Half of the shop consists of a superb selection of comics, such as Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, etc, as well as a whole aisle devoted to Manga. The other half of the shop is merch, such as bags, t-shirts, and collectible figures.
A. J.Definitely worth a visit. Great range and even had some loughefly bags i hadn't seen in other stores. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
C. R.This Forbidden Planet has the same stock as at the other shops (albeit there seem to be a lot more Loungefly bags and Funko Pops) but the problem is that the shop is just too small. It gets very overcrowded so taking the time to browse is very difficult.
N. A.This place is mostly seductive for those of us who love comic books, and games and toys and superheroes and pretty little things!!! I popped in to get a few superhero toys for my boy. The items aren't particularly cheap, but you'll love most of the stuff on display.

I can't just have a browse in this shop; I always come out with something.
It doesn't bother me that I might pay £5 more than I would online,These shops need our custom and I'm happy to pay that bit more to keep these stores going.

K. J.In terms of what they have on sale, Forbidden Planet is a collectors paradise, but the problem with the Nottingham branch is that it is just too small. Once there are more than 10 people in the store, it becomes crowded and you can often find yourself trapped in areas because other customers have blocked the aisles as they look at whatever. It puts me off going in sometimes as I don't feel like I have the time or space to browse at my own space as, if you stop to look at something for more than five seconds, someone else is already there waiting for you to finish looking at something. If the shop was double the size, it would actually be a solid 5/5, but unfortunately, and it's no fault of anyone in particular, other than whoever designed the layout, it can't be more than 3/5.

As I was only"with" someone buying for somone it was like shopping for shoes where the the word "exit" is the most attractive word in the English lexicon.
Why people get ecstatic over a piece of moulded plastic in a cardboard box that would parallel a happy meal appendage and pay an eye watering price for it is beyond me. But hey, if that floats your boat, go for it!!
For me it would be more accurately described as "Forboding planet".

A. S.Plenty of Anime, Disney, Movies, and Comic stuff for nerds of all kinds. You can get everything from comic books, manga, statues, figures and collectables of all kinds.
They even import official merch from countries like the US and Japan, however be prepared to pay out for these items as some statues can go for £300+ but they're super detailed.
Staff will help you by answering any questions they can, and they're all into the same stuff they sell so they're passionate about what they sell.
Definitely worth a look around and you may find that nerd you know something special

O.Forbidden planet is great for many different reasons, lots of Game, Comics and Anime merch in this shop, it has different shelves just for Funko pops, Manga and collectibles,
Behind the desk is nendoroids pokemon cards and even board games. This is great for presents if you know a "nerd"

K. J.I like the store but personally find it more and more covered with Funko pops and less and less comics and other merch. One staff member in particular is quite rude and dismissive and patronising to women, the rest a friendly.

M. Q.Went in just as store was closing. I was still welcomed In. Upon finding out I couldn't find what I was looking for the guy gave me his own personal copy. In all my time reading comics I've never received such good treatment. I would highly recommend a visit. They had a great selection of current back issues and a good range of toys too. So grateful for the kind gesture. I will return without a shadow of doubt.

m.One of the best places in the world, even if you aren't into anime or comics, it's just awesome. You have to check it out, even if it's not your thing. Also great for collectors and kids into their cartoons and action films. Pricier than online shopping generally but the experience is worth it. Their isles are a little narrow though even though they do have ramps inside. Friendly staff who will have a chat with you & monthly events for customers to win prizes and stuff. This was my fave place as a kid.

d. d.I've been in Nottingham for over a year now and I don't think a single week has gone by were I haven't bought something from here. From the great deals on manga, there staff are incredibly polite, the amount of pop culture items are insane and how there always seems to be items I can't find anywhere else online always blows my mind!!! If you haven't been there before and your a geek, gamer or even otaku this is the perfect place for you.

c. b.Forbidden Planet is an incredible place for all comic, science fiction, fantasy and cult entertainment retailer. The shop may be small but there is lots packed in it and the staff are extremely knowledge and helpful to what they have or even don't have, so if you are shopping for someone else you can rely on them.
N. M.It's ok they lack in items and giving deals to repeat customers, the shop has way too much stock that they can't sell. They don't seem to take customers views and advice as they don't like the truth about what people are looking for and yet I also know that this field is very hard to sell. Why the costs are high and the tax is high getting them into the country.

Retail space has increasingly been taken up with Pop! figures which I assume are wildly popular. The prices here are on the more expensive side when you're used to online valued products, but you're paying for the convenience. It's a pleasant browsing experience if you're into alt. culture, but it often gets crowded and busy during peak business hours (weekends!).
