Reviews of Southglade Park Library

It with special thanks and gratitude that I write to acknowledge the outstanding contribution Lisa has made at Southglade Library this year. Welcoming and friendly, Lisa made our weekly visits something to look forward to. Her positive approach and understanding of children has been inspirational and has made a difference to the life of a child. Through the Mother and Toddler group, she provided a pathway for growth and learning and a stepping stone to new beginnings.
Many thanks Lisa

This library contains of small building, it has roughly 5/6 computers and two main desks with power plugs for using laptops or other media. it has children section, roughly about 250 books of fiction/non fiction, educational books from GCSE's to primary school books and small amount of other subjects. There are about 8 5/meter long shelves, mostly double sided and has one desk with 2/3 staff members who are offer help with whatever you need. Staff are very friendly and approachable.
I moved to this area 7 months ago and instead of going to Queens or city hospital libraries to do university work, I tend to use this library as much as I can.
The only down side to the services here is that the library is very noisy as there are children and parents present within the facility. sometimes it is the "usual adults" who laugh quite loudly and that causes destruction. The solution could be using the quiet room for the responsible adults to do work but there is a heavy price to pay!!! I asked them once and they replied £10 for cover/insurance and £10's of pounds for roughly 4/6 hours. You might as well purchase bus ticket and go to the main city centre library.
P.S. There is also wifi, good printers and free scanner.
Please let responsible adults use the quiet room. It will help so many people.

Staff are really friendly and helpful. Just wish could get a cup of tea when sitting there contemplating and gathering my thoughts. I'll bring the biscuits.
Considering how small it is, it manages to always have a book for me to pick up and take home and therefore my reading of books have gone from zero to 100%.
Also with the leisure centre, I get to workout too! Quite a great hub.
