Reviews of WHSmith
Fantastic shop in particular for revision guides. Has an amazing wide variety of them, which I needed. It is now my go-to WHSmith store, instead of Arnold. Due to the store being in the city centre, I received a McDonald’s voucher strip when I was paying for my items, which I think is amazing customer service. I would highly recommended this store. I have read some older reviews, but based on today’s experience, I believe this store may of improved. Most important of all, the cashier was polite, so I definitely recommend this store.
Great selection, however the store looks run down
They have more magazine I ever had seen. Boughth some
Great shop, great customer service and helpful staff.
The shop overall is a bit expensive but as always good quality and short queues, lift to upstairs which is always helpful
A good range of stationary products. The staff are helpful and friendly. The only thing that really let's the store down is the dim lighting. Prices are higher than online but if you need something quick it might be worth paying the premium.
Everything is neat and tidy and the staff are very helpful. The products here are quite expensive but totally worth it. This is honestly one of the best quality shops I've ever been in. Perfect place for when you need some stationary, books, toys, sweets etc.
Huge selection of stationery and books etc but bit overwhelmed by shop layout sometimes, which feels crowded and confusing. Often feel it's way too heated in the store, so don't feel I can stay too long to browse. Generally use as a pop in when I know what I want.
This is a decent stationers, it is expensive for some items compared with other stores and especially against online retailers. However, for art supplies, pens and even a good book things are reasonable. They also stock board games, cards (birthdays etc) as well as a huge selection of gift cards magazines and of course books, travel guides, language books and study, revision guides of all ages. You can grab a drink as well. They now have a post office part within the store I believe as well! The store is a bit tired looking and they keep remerchandising the store (shuffling the layout), the staff are helpful and they have self checkout and manned tills too.
So if you're after the next bestseller, a revision guide for all your GCSE's, learning to speak Spanish, need some water colours and paintbrushes for an art project and want to learn how to crochet and more, well then, this is the store you need!
Having a rather precise and specialised list of needs I popped into the Victoria Centre store with little expectation of actually finding what I wanted but I was very pleasantly surprised to find that other than some envelopes that were out of stock, I was able to get everything else.
I loved the art department.
I find it difficult to find things in WHSmiths and I feel they don't usually have what I'm looking for - if I need a book I will usually find it at Waterstones or Amazon, and if I need stationary I find that the Range has a better selection of stationary and professional art supplies for a better price. Now with the addition of the post office, the upper floor seems cramped and the post office is too small for the amount of people using it, especially on weekends. The layout of the store should be changed in my opinion making it easier to find things with better displays and signs. The children's section seems too large and I often don't see it in use.
Great range of stationary, books and pencil cases. Huge range of pencil cases and lunch boxes in the shape of a hamburger or doughnut or unicorn. A bit pricey compared to online stores although there were some good bogof deals
OK , we know what we get a WHSmith so not much to review. Wanted a to do list book, no longer sell apparently. Found a few desk pads, advertised as 99p, got to till, came up as 1p! Bargain I thought, well not to be...cashier rightly so went to get manager who said 99p!
All in all, nothing special to review. No helpful smiles, just gradual questions answered.
The post office is now in whsmith on the second floor at the back of the shop. They have a new lift and there are stairs and an escalator going up only. The shop could do with updating. Selling a variety of books & magazines.
Post office has moved from central city to the rear upstairs. Collection times posted on tiny papers next to the self service machines. Not really good enough when waiting in the long queues and trying to find out if it's worth the wait. Services include foreign exchange. I couldn't see any passport booth so not sure if there is one. There is a staffed counter. I didn't even glance at the WH Smith business.
Haven't been in a big Smiths for a while. Pleasantly surprised. Got all my emergency workshop needs (postits, sharpies sticky dots) sorted easily.
Everything you'd expect from a WHSmiths. This one now has the post office in it too which is useful. The main problem I have with this shop is the lighting... It feels super gloomy and depressing in there. It's abit dated but that's a pedantic complaint.
It was good place and you can buy maps books language books novels and alot more.
There's a photo booth there if you want a passport size photo.
Very tidy place, I got fantastic customer service. I love how you guys have more of a variety of items such as playstation gift cards etc. Keep up the stuff guys your employees are the best!
This is my favourite magazine and book shop and this shop I give this whsmith 9 out of 9 star's Fantastic and Amazing and Brilliant and best shop ever anyone can buy any sort of magazines or book's for any sort of age for Adults or children because anyone can get celebrity book of music how to play on any sort of of tunes on keyboard sound like piano and any sort of different magazines and I give this whsmith shop 10 out of 10 star's Fantastic and Brilliant and Amazing and best shop to go to to buy any sort of magazines or book's and when you buy an book or magazine you get an voucher and you can order your favourite book or magazine and anyone can get delivery of magazines or book's I give this whsmith shop 5 out of 5 star's Fantastic and Brilliant and Fantastic whsmith shop ever that's why I think everyone should go to this and buy your favourite book or magazine here even the other whsmith shop is the best one to go as well.
Ordered Ant Middleton book which arrived at the store. The lady that served me was courteous. Found my book in no time. Signed as I had requested and paid for.
I buy Two or Three magazines a month from WH Smith. I am an electronics and computer enthusiast who spends a day a week hill walking. I usually find a mag that takes my interest, but just browsing is great. I am looking for a new car so Parkers Guide this month. A new camera well Digital Photography gave me a heads up. Smiths sell alsorts of great stuff which is good value. The staff are helpful and usually know what they have and most importantly where to find it.
Little hard to find the book I wanted and it was at full price, whereas seen it cheaper in another store. However I do like WH Smith and it's got a vast array of books, magazines, etc...
Good covid protocols. Wide range of stationery, books, news and magazines. Friendly staff
Great selection of books, magazines, treats and a good range of puzzles, games, birthday cards, party accessories and always a good selection of offers too.
Not fantastic place, as hard to find many different things and doesnt stock this. Seems to have.never moved with the times, could be so much better if effort was put into it. Still feels like the 80's in there
Good anyway. Today didn't get my receipt, panicked halfway home, went back, they found my transaction on the system and printed me one special.... wow!
Went looking for some nice writing paper and found it here. A shop that has not changed a great deal over the year's. It's prices are a little high.
Nice store with diverse stationery and wide variety of novels ranging from scientific to romance. Some nice chocolates to pick here too and school stuff too.
Lovely shop to just browse in if you want to, the staff don't purge you to buy.. But there is such a huge selection of goods on sale, then you generally do buy...
One of my all time favourite shops! Brilliant place! Not bad price either depending on what you're looking for!
Nice store but was charged incorrectly for a folder. It was solved straight away but no sorry was said to me. The colleague wasn't friendly
Great selection of quality products👍😃 unlike some places
Just as its always been great for stationary goods books ect. Must be vic centres longest serving shop.
Has offers on from time to time, & the post office is now located inside upstairs in the shop.
Great range of magazines & books. Let down by over inflated prices of their range of stationary & writing books & drawing g books
Good shop but for some reason there where no baskets at the upper level entrance had to carry everything
It's mainly what you would expect from a stationary shop, they have everything to do with stationary n way too much in my opinion, but I guess it's more to choose from its just that when ya in there with ya 7 year old daughter, it can become time consuming and expensive for stuff that's just pretty rather than practical,
The best place to frantically search for a drink in after you've visited the shops you actually wanted to visit.
They are by the tills at the front.
Great for Home schooling supplies, lots on offer and plenty great Books to choose from.
Often have good deals on books making it cheaper than most other book shops.
Organized with variety of nice stationary collections
S good shop you can get all your magazine's and most books
A ton of stuff to find!! I could even find art stuff that I usually cannot find anywhere. I recommend the shop 10/10!
One of my favourite stationary stores. Good prices and a variety of products
Lots of pokemon books to choose between :)
So much choice in the whole shop for anything:)
Only came in for the post office which was a bit busy during lunch as you'd expect however it is quite hot in there so if your an employee having to rush around it can be unbearable.
Loved this shop since I was a kid. Best place for stationery for the kids for school
Very good selection of books, and lots of promotions going on at the moment.
Full of various departments, stationary. Books, quick snacks and a post office too
Nice store. Been going there for years. Friendly helpful staff.
Ok store but badly needs investment to make it more modern and welcoming. It is the same store now as when it first opened.
I had to find this new release today and staff were helpful to locate it for me.Good and updated stock
My wife likes it more than me but still a good shop to visit
Good service, just wish they stocked a larger selection of mechical lead
Not a bad shop but sadly gone down hill since it's hayday, needs a revamp and new image
It was okay but waterstones looks better, has better books and lower prices.
Signs weren't very helpful for finding what I was looking for and some of the displays are being rearranged so some of the stock is in boxes/empty shelves
Great place to get a good range of books & magazines
Has great selection of most stuff and good prices...
Currently lots of building work as the new post office is moving in. Tim a while to find what I wanted
Same as it's always been, but annoying that they ask you to by chocolate etc when you're paying for other things, it puts me off going in.
Failed to label three for two offer correctly and didn't scan with long queues
Seems very old fashioned now going to smiths but has loads of good bits which are hard to find anywhere else. All good thanks.
3 for 2 didn't come up on self-service so had to ask assistant.
Thought having post office here would be a pain
Bur Seems to work better that the old one ?
Just went in for a cookery book for a slow cooker. Small selection but ok
They didn't actually have what I was shopping for but gave me somewhere I could buy my items
Loved it... Not only that it has post office facilities as well
Lots of books, stationary etc to choose from and friendly helpful staff.
Had work at the post office there. The staff was really helpful.
Nice well equipped store with a well organized post office
Lack of staff makes the place less inviting than it used to be.
Visted Whsmith as I needed to use the post office which had relocated in this store since moving from King Street recently
Always have a good selection of modelling magazines.
Nice place but few non fiction books
Good book selections. Rammed post office section
Just getting more and more expensive compared to over retailers selling same similar stuff
Excellent for what it is. Finding the required magazine can be a challenge though!
Staff very helpful, store dark and dated.
Good place to go to get your kids school things
Overpriced most of the time but they have a good selection of stuff
Had a wide range of things, although the cashier was quite rude
soklmetimes a bit expensive and when u need help you cannot always find someone to help you but the variety is great.
Sell everything my son loves and have good offers
Staff not the best trained, wide selection of books and stationery.
The gentlemen who served me today was very patient and understanding.
Nice well stocked bookshop its great
Lifts was not working had to leave go to find more lifts and then return upstairs
It was a really good sized WHSmith with a good range of items.
To small and to crowded at the post office, also to hot
The staff were very helpful
Went in for something and came out with something completely different! Love it.
Good range of products. Bigger than expected.
Always helpful and friendly staff. Go above and beyond to help me.
All books downstairs and all stationary upstairs . Everything you can imagine
Should be open until later, but great selection
