A step back in history to a more refined time. How every shop in Oxford should be! Run by the most lovely couple for over 45 years! Always up for a chat. Amazing selection of vintage books and prints!

This is the best shop in town.
Amazing for unique gifts and vintage items such as old Viz and Marvel comics, artisan soaps, cards, books and lots more.
Been here for decades. Long may it continue!

Beautiful little shop just hidden out of view from the main stretch of the city. Sometimes you can find some pretty good books from here at quite reasonable prices, if you're a collector this is definitely more your style - many 1st edition books. I only wish it was larger and held more variety of products within it where one can get lost and explore it's whimsical crevices. Regardless, if you're into either books or the beautiful then make sure to visit when in Oxford.

I've always adored this shop. In every season it’s a feast for the senses and seems to embody William Morris’ golden rule, “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful”. Classical music is always played, and with its collection of second-hand books, vintage prints and postcards, calendars, stationary and the prettiest gifts and decorations imaginable, it's an oasis of charm and fascination.

Amazing shop. It takes you back in time…

This shop is an absolute independent gem, nestled just off busy Cornmarket street and selling predominantly cheap second-hand books, cards, wrapping paper and small decorative items. It is very traditional, with very friendly staff, and is inexpensive compared to more commercial offerings. I can't recommend it enough.

My favourite shop, they stock beautiful items for the home and I'm pleased to say I own a few items.

Essential to visit to experience traditional Oxford shopping. Since 1975 this shop has been selling beautiful items, such as candle holders, classic books, decorations for the home. I first went to Arcadia in 1998 as an undergraduate at St. John's. Upholding Oxford traditions this shop provides classic literature (2nd hand) and is an essential for tourists looking for the genuine Oxford experience.
