Good shop. I was looking for a suitcase Range was clearly displayed and priced and no sales staff interrupted my looking and thinking. When I made my choice the cash counter dealt with it smoothly and efficiently. Price was competitive and a choice of goods to select from.

Love this place, and would have given 5 stars, but there was no working lift for the pram. Had to leave the store, go in a lift elsewhere, then re-enter the store's top level by the entrance through the shopping centre. 😕

Products & ranges change frequently. Never know what stock they will have in. Not a wide range of women's clothes at present but lots of men's. Wide range of pictures & frames at reasonable prices. Great bargains on pans & kitchen items. Lots of bedding & curtains. Changing rooms available.

I am so glad that TH Hughes has reopened after Lockdown. The choice and prices of items in every department is excellent BUT it is the staff that makes my shopping experience such a joy.They are so helpful and friendly and always try to find an alternative if they cannot find what you are looking for.

I have always loved this shop very good deals on everything. Also if you have any mobility problems with needing a lift or esculalater this is where to go the only way in and out of the Fishergate Center to the car park! I know it's social distancing but why have people that have difficulty suffer also somewhere to take a breather .

Price wise it can be hit and miss. Female clothing section is abysmal - old fashioned, poor quality and big prices. A lot of loud shouting going on between staff members - some friendly bantering, another incident not so sure and it was uncomfortable and unnecessary (in my opinion) definitely not professional! Shop is laid out over two large floors, large range of products. Can be accessed from car park or the shopping centre .

Currently has a home event on aimed at university students I presume but meant I could get two double duvets, 4.5 and 10.5 tog, for less than £20.

Large two level discount store set in a shopping center . Handy for bus train ect. Sells many household items and clothing for all usually at a discount . There are also pet items furniture of basic items. And a selection of garden consumables . Electronic goods Hoover's ect . But keep an eye on prices as sometimes there not always the best discounts around . In the main shopping center are lifts moving stairs toilets many other outlets and clean well presented toilets

The place was open later than other shops around it which was very much appreciated. The staff were ever so friendly, it was quiet and I found exactly what I needed and so did my daughter all within 20 minutes. Very pleased they are back

It's been a long time since I've been in a TJ Hughes, so long in fact I'd forgotten what great bargains are in store! The lower floor (accessible from the rear car park as well as the upper floor entrance) is homewares and the upper floor (accessible from within the Fishergate mall) clothing and accessories. They have a decent selection of branded and lesser known brands at competitive prices. Brands like Tower, Breville, Addis, Minky, Tefal and Russel Hobbs are in the aisles with several types of kitchenware for each one. There is also plenty of bed and bathroom items in store, as well as small furnishings - you could pretty much buy everything you needed to set a student up in new digs. The clothing brands (to name a few): Under Armour, French Connection, Lambretta, North Face & Trespass all have a small selection of items. I didn't have time to browse the upper floor but I know they have a selection of toiletries and smellies as I've seen the perfume advertised. Don't be put off by the old signage or slightly tatty exterior it's definitely worth a visit if you are looking for cheap and easy items.
