C. S.Wow, this was my first time going and km a fishing beginner but the staff were so helpful and nice. They let me know everything I needed as well how to get my rod setup and some good local spots.
Can't recommend enough!
A. M.It was lovely from the outside waiting for my fiance. A blissful 25 mins to myself. Seriously though I have been inside before and bought many a present there. The staff are really helpful and willing to help us angling widows find the perfect gift

a.Haven't fished for 40 years, visited today to see about setting up again, really helpful staff who didn't try to oversell , looked at a rod which was £5 more than the 1st I was shown and was told, it's an upgrade but the original you looked at is more than sufficient. I explained I wasn't buying today but getting prices and ideas, that wasn't an issue and Malcolm treated me as if I was going to spend £1000's on the spot. Definately the place to go for fishing, highly recommended.

J. K.Very handy place to get all your angling needs. Some things are not the cheapest but they are quality branded products and you have to bare in mind you are supporting a shop with staff and overheads. A vast range of baits including shelf life, refrigerated & live maggots.

This shop is so refreshing, the staff can't do enough to help you and will chat about fishing and give tips. Never met a bad member of staff here. My family have been here to find gifts for me and the staff have always helped them to find something suitable.
S.Can’t recommend enough always really helpful and give great advise and since lockdown have just been perfect pay over the phone. Items picked and bagged and brought to you at the door. Can’t fault them at all and helping me massively as I am just starting out with real fishing. Thanks guys!!

s. h.Everything I need and more. I often go for a pint of maggots and walk out with everything else as well. This place massively caters to my tackle addiction and I'm sure I'd be in trouble with the wife if I had one.
As for the staff, well, their knowledge is unsurpassed in my opinion, they have never employed the tactic of forcing you to buy what you don't need but insightfully ease you in the direction of what you do. This is the ideal place also for new anglers as the staff will have you on the bank in no time at a price that will definitely not break the bank.
Lastly AD's Advanta range is amazing! Very high quality equipment at prices that put the big names to shame...... just goes to show that sometimes you DO pay for a name.

B. Z.Being a larger retailer I went in expecting a frosty reception and generic service however I was more than pleasantly surprised by the help and advice I received.
I went in looking for specific items that i needed for a new carp rig setup that I wanted to try.
I've only been carp fishing for around 2 or 3 years and only knew a couple of knots and rig setups but the guys here not only showed me what I needed but also showed me how to tie it and wouldn't let me leave until I knew how to tie it too.

p. d.Not many tackle shops left as we all shop online but this is big and very friendly and I have seen guys with shopping baskets lol. a lot of the staff are young and approachable and some are from now closed tackle shops so lots of expertise available
P. P.I visited the reading store recently and I was very happy with the service that I received I found the staff extremely helpful when it came to purchasing presents for Christmas I couldn’t recommend this store highly enough for the fantastic customer service I received.
S. M.I went to the open day and was very pleased to see mots of my old mates had also attended. Dave Elyatt from ESP very kindly showed me the new Lo Pro brolly, and it was good to catch up and have a natter. There was also this scruffy looking bloke near the counter who was talking to lots of the customers, Terry something or other I think he was.
We got a goodie bag and a free beanie hat too, which kept me well warm until the wife stole it. All in all, a very nice shop with a good selection of everything you could need. Sadly I was not offered a cup of tea, but you can't have everything.
