Cards, Staionery and a post office upstairs

Very good stationery from all the stationery shops but very overpriced. Can do quite good deals and sells books, cards, art supplies, canvas, pens and pencils, paint, glue sticks and much, much more! Can do good deals especially the 3 for 2 and is very good for back to school and long lasting stuff. Does food, some tech and games but not any clothes and not much of the tech. Overall very good just quite overpriced.

Books and magazines of every genre and a wide selection of stationary and craft/art supplies. You have got to be selective to get good buys but sometimes they do have bargain items. Good quality with the assurance of buying from a major retailer.

Having gone through a recent refurbishment, it now looks cleaner, less cluttered albeit with less variety of articles (this probably does not make that much of a difference to the overall shopping). The bookstore area also features a good selection, now a bit more tidy. Overall, a better shopping experience.

Nice items to buy but pricing is now far too high for the average shopper!! There was a time when Smiths was THE place to go...now even TOP END Paper Chase is actually cheaper for MOST of the stuff Smiths stocks.. Not a good omen at all for Smiths and I sense it going the same way as Woolworths...calm before the storm?

Old school shopping... This was the go to shop that has survived the times. Its not as pretty a Waterstones but it does have some great deals. The staff are friendly and for stationary and other items it has a very large collection. I think it's gone back to where it was good and stopped being a jack of all trades (I ignored the mobile phone bit as you just can't get away from everyone needing to address this space).

The large size means that they are very well stocked in stationary. Good place to get quality writing equipment. Their art supply section is also reasonable.

Focus on books (available online or bookshops) stationary (supermarkets) and cards (supermarkets or online) so rarely decide to go there for something specific. However, they do a range of board games and small items for birthday presents that can be useful at short notice!

It has recently added a 'technology' section at the front of the shop with someone there to guide you. It's only really for cheap headphones and speakers though. This is the best place in town for magazines but also sells books, cards, games and stationery.

Nicely refurbished since I was last in there (years ago), the staff were helpful and friendly. The signs for the post office were a bit confusing, the one outside is directly over the entrance for a different company and there's 1 sign on the opposite side of the store, it's not mentioned on the stairway unless I completely missed it

It was better until they put the post office in upstairs! Why they couldn't put it at the back of the store or the middle maybe, upstairs is so inconvenient as you have to walk to the middle of the store to get to the escalator or stairs, there is a lift for the less able but still not a great location. The store front shows the Post Office which is very misleading as it looks like its right there but sadly it isn't. I will be using the one at cemetery Junction more now or Wokingham Road.

This shop is in a very convenient location in Reading town centre and has had a bit of a facelift in recent months. Service is friendly but a bit slow on the tills at the Broad Street end. Prices for food and snacks are also a bit steep. However it is very handy for redeeming O2 Priority offers.

Recently renovated and looking much better! It's a really large store and the layout is far less cluttered and easier to move through. It's always a busy store and the book section upstairs is great!

This is a perfect place to find a book according to your taste. There are a lot of sections to choose from and descriptions of the books as well. Absolutely love this place! And there's a stationary department as well. Perfect 👌.

A fairly large and very nice looking up to date branch of WH Smiths, this place has all the usual stuff and more - plenty of crafting equipment you'd usually only see in Hobbycraft. The branch is fairly large but doesn't seem to have a wholly extensive range of magazines for some reason.

Nice variety of items, although a member of staff was quite curt and a bit dismissive of my question about a book availability - he was helpful in the end - but only remembered to offer to order the book in for me once I was halfway across the shop! Still, he gave me the answer to what i asked.
