Fantastic shop with massive variety of party items. Everything you need in 1 place. From paper plates through fancy clothes, helium balloons, flowers to fireworks. I have to mention craft supplies, knitting and glitter. Also they offer veggie plants and flowers to grow in your garden and of course Christmas trees! I just love that shop! Highly recommend if you haven't been there.

Wow! Absolutely amazing place, went here to go and have a look at the fireworks on offer, I'd been around a few place but nothing comes close to this chap! He's fantastic! A massive array of fireworks on hand! All of them better than the rest, and cheaper to! I got all this for £25!...yep...£25!...say no more!... Disabled friendly and ramp at the front door, usual thing with the masks around the place! Get there before they have all gone! Thank you for the bundle!... 5*

Have come to this place for years to buy my fireworks. Always accommodating and happy to help. Just give the guy at the fireworks counter your budget and he will give you a great deal. Every single firework display I have purchased from them have been excellent. Have tried other shops previously and none of them are a patch on make it magic. As well as that those who have not been here for a long time this is no longer Shirley market it's a proper party shop and they sell everything you could possibly need in terms of parties. Would never go anywhere else - highly recommended A++++

Really good shop for anything you need for a party, plates, cups, hats, balloons, decorations etc or if you just want some cheap tat for a seasonal festival e.g. Halloween or Christmas. They also sell fireworks and have videos of all of them so you can see what they are like first which can be useful.

Love the selection of knitting yarns from a great range of baby wools through to dk and aran. I have been knitting for over 5 decades and find everything I need here from wool to ribbons and buttons all at competitive prices too and local. Would highly recommend this Family run business, I am always telling the lovely ladies at the counter what a good selection they have. Decided to do a review as I am a really happy customer and hope they advertise their knitting department as there are not many local shops offering a knitting department locally.

Since its recent refit, the store is split into two sections. The left side is parties and celebrations, the right side is mostly craft supplies, faux floral, and haberdashery. They stock a huge range of adult fancy dress, stuff for themed parties, helium balloons and balloon displays, they sell fireworks, faux flowers for displays, wreaths, memorials etc. I love it in there!

We bought some fireworks off Peter yesterday, he was so friendly and knowledgeable. we gave him our budget and he started with showing us a much cheaper selection box rather than just trying to max out our budget straight away. Normally balloons are fantastic and stay afloat for many days or even weeks, however this time one foil balloon began to deflate within 24 hours and then the next day one of the numbers began to deflate. We made sure we followed the instructions given when collected as we always do. Very disappointed this time. I always get balloons from here normally, however may consider trying somewhere else.

With a few days before the second lock down due to covid. I managed to purchase some excellent balloons for my daughters 10th birthday. They have balloons for every occasion you can think of, and an array of different sizes and shapes. I went for a big pink number 1 & 0 with weights and ribbon colours to match. Reasonably priced and a quick service while I waited. They are happy to take payment and arrange collection on chosen day and time. They also recommend that you take the balloons straight home to avoid leaving in hot cars or risk of popping them. Mine were for a couple of days time and they looked just as good no loss of helium or deflated. Lasted for about a week or so then slowly went down. Would highly recommend.

Stumbled apon this brilliant place today! The service I received was amazing! Especially the lovely gentleman behind the banner/personalised gift counter. Purchased a card and a cup from him and his work was impeccable. The cards where amazing and the cup was so perfect! Definitely will be using them from now on for any gift I need. I did like this shop before, when it sold everything. When I went in this time, it had all changed. Not in a bad way. I wish there had been a shop like this, when my children were younger. It sells absolutely everything that you would need for a party, and so much more. I actually wanted a memorial, but as the shop had changed their stock was low, asthey were discontinuing the range. Normally get my balloons from here and have never had an issue and always happy with the service and the balloons. It was my sons 3rd birthday last week (during lockdown) so I went to the shop and said I need a dinosaur themed standing balloon arrangement and a green number 3. The lady serving me asked “are you happy for us to work our magic and co-ordinate the colours etc” I was a bit dubious as I like to know what to expect but I thought yeah do what you can as we’re in lockdown and I will be grateful for what they can do for me. When I went back a couple of hours later to collect my balloons I was nervous. When I saw the balloons I was absolutely amazed!!! I couldn’t believe they’d achieved what I asked and much much more than I ever expected. They literally did work their magic!!!! And they even put some cute little dinosaur stickers on the number 3 to match my sons birthday theme!! Best balloons ever!!!! My son loved them too! They did an outstanding job on my balloons considering they didn’t really have much information on what I wanted because I couldn’t go in the store. 20/10 for these balloons. Will never go anywhere else for my balloons and even more so after this set! Thank you make it magic you worked your magic and it’s amazing!!!!!!!!’ excellent customer service!!!!!

Outstanding , I asked for a tshirt to be printed for a funeral for my child to wear as wanted something more fun in celebration of our nan, not only were the staff extremely friendly they were very helpful in helping me with what I wanted , and giving advice on what would look good. I received a phone call very quickly and was ready alot sooner which was great, I picked it up and was overwhelmed, done a fantastic job and was better than I expected quality and design were really good, not only that so good in price too , £10 for the tshirt and the print and design , I then went back and ordered 4 more tshirts for myself and sisters kids as family loved the one they had seen , and even though it is a sad occasion I know that this will bring such joy to people when they see these , fantastic job and done at short notice so thank you very much , highly recommended, helen.

Sorry had to write this 😔 but truly upset by yesterday's visit. Took my mum to Shirley for the first time since the beginning of covid . We like to visit Shirley it takes me back to my childhood. My nan ran a successful b&b for many years in Shirley avenue and My Aunty and mum both used to work in the diner (which is now the pharmacy) and a visit to Shirley was never complete without a visit to the Shirley Market. So we we're excited to see what Make it Magic had to offer. And I wasn't disappointed, I make floral displays and baby shower gifts, I was taking mental notes all around the shop, love how they seam to have that little bit extra for every occasion, I also had my grandson with me who's a handful (terrible two's) so decided I was coming back next week on my own so I could stock up on goodies as its also my daughters birthday. On this visit I didn't buy very much a plant a novelty light and a hand fan that my grandson had picked up as soon as we entered the store. I thanked the cashier who was lovely, knowing how many times I'd reminded my grandson that we have to pay the lady, she spoke to him and charged for it first , I left looking forward to coming back, but as I turned to my mum I saw a lady think may of been the boss ? Pointing at me and my grandson indicating to the cashier that we hadn't paid for the fan ! I can understand this to a point but it was a 1.25 fan , I know shoplifters come in all shapes and sizes, but do they usually bring their grandson and they're elderly mum too? This has upset me, and I won't be returning. we seem to have to turned into a judgemental covid city since lockdown , and if people keep feeling like this the only winner will be internt shopping

Fantastic Christmas trees, this is our third year purchasing our real tree from here. They are incredibly helpful and patient and will willingly take the net off any number of trees til you find the perfect one. Reasonably priced too. 🌲. Thank you.

We used these guys for an event a couple of months back and they were amazing. So helpful and were able to provide everything we needed from shiny letters for our society to a fantastic balloon arch and pillars. It looked great and they really went the extra mile putting fairy lights around the arch. If I need balloons again I will definitely be going back here. So friendly and helpful.

This shop is an Aladdins cave, I normally pop in here for wool, buttons and eyes. I also got my Christmas tree from here. I asked if it could be checked re the sizing of the tree end to the tree stand. Not a problem. The gentleman checked it and trimmed it down so it fit. Wow! Customer service is second to none. I wanted banners to cheer the home coming of my son on HMS Queen Elizabeth. I had a vision but unfortunately Make it Magic didn't have the stock. However, lovely Fern was most resourceful and found something way better than I could have wished for. Jade then turned it into reality. They charged me so little, I actually added more to the bill myself. They definately 'made it magic' for me!

This is the place to go for TOP QUALITY FIREWORKS! Been getting my fireworks hear for a few years and they have always been the best!
