We purchased guneia pigs here. Staff member was very knowledgeable and helpful. Only issue was he was the only member of the Animal team in so he kept getting called away to answer other questions etc from staff and members of the public. We had a phone call a few days later to make sure the pigs were ok and we were confident in how to handle/care for them. Will use this store again

I try to avoid Pets at Home for a variety of reasons. Firstly the price and secondly their poor advice. During my most recent visit I will admit that the store was clean and tidy and was the only store in Southampton where I was able to find silica cat litter during the current shortage. However I wasn't very impressed with the price. I also decided to browse small animals as I am currently debating a new addition but the only animals there were 2 rabbits, all the other enclosures were empty which was a little disappointing and also defeated the point of being a pet selling store. The experience was very so so. They did however have lots of fish.

All round good customer service Me my wife where I helped out by a young lad on the Aqua department his knowledge was really good the the only small let down from him and I don't think it's his fault to be quite honest my wife's memory isn't too good to be quite honest so my wife asked him the same thing a couple of times and he rolled his eyes otherwise like I say his knowledge was fantastic.

Good staff overall but sadly not well received by one groomer. If you don't do anxious dogs why even set up an appointment to have me wait a whole week and then when I get there you don't even look or interact with my dog and just tell me to set up an appointment elsewhere? I set up an appointment last week for a nail clipping on a small dog, the groomer at the time was made aware of the stress problems with my dog and told me they would muzzle her and try, if it wasn't possible to proceed they would stop. So I wait the whole week, I arrived five minutes early and waited, when I got there I told the new groomer (another person) the same details and she told me she wouldn't do anything with my dog as she is aggressive and she can't do it alone, that she also has two dogs waiting, this without even trying to interact with my dog at all, I was on the other side of the desk. So why make me think I'm going to have an appointment and make me go and you just refuse and tell me to go to the vets instead? I did go right away as it's across the street and they were very eager to see my dog, try to pet it and set up an appointment.

I love pets at home but on Friday my mum and her friend went to find me a rat but all pets at homes near me where empty if you guys restore with rats please let me know my mums friend will be calling today (maybe) and we will on every Sunday to check but my mum said the lady was very kind so thank you I was there atleast3-5 times for a rat and hamsters pets at home I recommend to buy pets from there most of the pets don't bite and are very lovely

Wish they would tone down getting their staff members to check on customers. It's not helpful, it just feels like badgering. I use this PAH regularly and almost every single time I'm asked if I need help / want to sign up to their loyalty card by multiple people.. I barely spend ten minutes in the store. One time it was so bad I couldn't even complete a sentence to my partner without being interrupted by two seperate girls. Its just a stressful experience now...

Recently visited to purchase a few things for my cats and couldn't be more satisfied as all staff were nice and helpful. Especially the cashier who was really understanding after I fumbled with my cards and after ai explained I was having a horrible day and was flustered he said there was no rush and told me to take my time. I don't usually struggle in shops but today was an awful day for my anxiety and such little thing really makes a big difference. Thank you so much for being really helpful.

My vets are located inside, they are absolutely fantastic! The store itself - stocked up, tidy and well maintained. Staff are knowledgeable, pleasant and approachable. Enough products to choose from, and if you're unsure - theres always someone nearby from the staff to help.

They have a simple points system for tanks and fish, with a traffic light system for ease of care. Good place for beginners to get their start.

Nice friendly place, was helpful when asked about cat stuff. I like to go here to buy my fish and also cat food as its reasonably cheap. When I asked about fish related things I get the impression some of the staff don't actually care about their fish. One I found at least two dead fish in their tanks in the space of going there twice so I was quite upset having to see that. And when I told them about it, it was like they didn't really care so much, so in reality I will be going elsewhere for my fish but for everything else it's great customer service and reasonably cheap prices and deals for cat products.

Staff polite and understanding. Unfortunately the store has two entrances and whoever in charge has chosen to use just the one door and lock the other which is just plain stupid in Covid times. Both doors should be open...one in and one out as normal. Why is this not happening at these times?

Staff are always lovely and friendly, if you have any concern over the welfare of the animals in store they always go with you to check on the animals and see whether they need vet treatment. Not had a bad experience there. They handle the animals, but, with all pet stores, more can be done to get them used to humans.

This is Pets at Home in Winchester Road, Southampton. A big store with a lot of goods mostly for dogs & cats. Varied other small animals are kept in very clean conditions. Good quality food too. On site Vets are very good even though we had to take one of our pets at the end of life. Handled with sympathy & respect.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. There’s a massive range of products for most pets. I’d just recommend doing your own research before buying some edible treats because they might be unsuitable for your pet’s digestive system. E.g. rabbits should not be fed cereals and seeds but these are often used in their treats. Overall, my experience with adopting a rabbit from them and caring for him since has been great.

I can only speak as a cat owner, but find this shop to be excellent in terms of selection. Food, furniture and toys are all well represented. Prices are a little bit higher than I would prefer. Other pets appear to be well represented with dogs dominating the space. There is plenty of parking. The staff are pleasant and engaging. There are usually rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and rats to view in the centre of the building; fun to watch for a few minutes.

Great place to get your pet supplies. I personally have a dog and they have a great section at the back of the store filled with dog and cat supplies, they even have a dog hairdressers at the very back. The staff here are great and they always Adore whatever animal you bring in. They give my dog a few treats which she loves. Overall a amazing place to take your pet (even if you just want to browse)

Large selection of small animal toys and fish tank accessories. Reasonably prices supplies for small animals. Lots of lovely fluffy bunnies to look at while browsing!

They were very patient with me and spent quite a while talking me through options and explaining how to access several discounts that I was unaware of. I will definately be using this store again.

Last night on my way home from the hospital I found a poor cat at the side of the road unfortunately he had passed away not to long before I found him. This store was closed but the staff where stocking the shelves. So I knocked on the window they kindly answered me and help me scan the poor cat so I could find his owners. With some help from the emergency vets at a different location I managed to locate the owner thanks to he help of the girls that helped me at your store. So thank you both for your help sorry I didn’t catch your names but you manager should be so proud of such a wonderful bunch of kind hearted employees.

We use to top up for cat food however this place is not good for reptiles. Purchased a crested gecko from them 2 years ago, it died within a week of having it. The manager didn't do anything to compensate and I was heart broken.

Pretty standard to most of the Pets at Home chain. Wide selection of food, toys, bedding and accessories for most pets. Have also started stocking more in the way of reptiles as well. The only let down is that there is never enough people on the tills and when it is busy the person at the tills rings a bell but often it's ages before anyone arrives. There seems to be no rush to help serve, nor is anyone checking on the tills to see if its getting busy before the need to ring the bell arises. Sometimes I spend more time waiting in line than I did looking for my items. Staff are friendly but just need to be a little more aware of the customers and tills.

Oh joy! every morning it's like Chesil Beach as the dear fellow, enthusiastic in covering his 'efforts', has kicked cat litter over the side of the tray. Bring back the larger size chaps. Boss Cat is no small kitty but a fully grown mog.

This is a great place for everything related to pets, it has toys and food for dogs, cats, hamsters, Guinea pigs, birds, pretty much anything pet related that you need you should be able to find here, theres a large car park so parking isn't an issue and there are disability bays available too, as long as non blue badge holders don't park in them.

Got a taxi with my kids on the 17th aug to the pet shop when we arrived we found out there was no hamsters they had gone somewhere else has they r sorting the shop out my 16 yr old was pretty annoyed,I was annoyed that I paid taxi for nothing.
