Reviews of Robin's Nest Emporium

Nice place to spend time and have a coffee here! Really nice cappuccino ☕️def recommended
M. S.
Fantastic treasure trove of all things second hand (and new in some cases) great staff. Icing on the cake (pardon the pun) is the amazing coffee shop. Homemade cakes to die for, helpful and welcoming staff, great coffee, oh, massive plus, spotless loos (although they're up 2 flights of stairs).
I spend a good hour at a time browsing and often buying items when I visit. Lots of things of nostalgia here too.
Great for a visit when raining!
Absolutely recommend!
J. H.
Warehouse sized flea market shopping housing loads of different local traders, from antiques and collectables to furniture, crafts, diy, and culinary products. Well worth dropping in, but be warned it's quite large and you could easily lose an afternoon here! Prices tend to be reasonable, everything is nicely laid out so browsing is pleasant and easy.

A fantastic shop I spend a lot of my time and money In there and always enjoy visiting but unlike the staff in the Fareham branch who are very friendly and welcoming, there is one staff member here who lets it down, an older woman with short hair whose name I do not know, who you try to be friendly and talk to but says nothing back to you and instead looks down to you and ignores you and this has happened on every occasion she has been working there, on my last visit when I asked if I could put an item by while I looked around a bit more she told me to put it behind the desk on the shelf myself when I was expecting her to take it for me and the same happened when I came back to pay for the item I was made to go behind the till and retrieve the items myself once again, which is incredibly poor customer service on her part.
I don’t want to say that all the staff are rude because there are other staff members who have been much friendlier. It’s such a shame because I love this shop and will continue to come here but they definitely need to work on there customer service In this store.
J.
Excellent emporium filled with a wide range of things. A nice café inside as well that serves hot food, cakes & drinks. Much better than the central Robins Nest Emporium.
T. B.
Lots of antiques, interesting things from old tools to paintings, cups ...
J. F.
This is a huge warehouse of collectables and odds and ends. We weren't expecting much as we tend to buy higher value antiques and this place has a wider range of lower end collectables and antiques. Having said that we ended up spending a bit on a variety of very attractive and interesting things. And access is excellent. As for the coffee shop, we only had a brief stop. Nice friendly staff both in the café and at the main till were very welcoming though. It's certainly worth a stop for the casual browser and collector of oddities.
My partner is a wheelchair user and getting around was easy. We were able to look into every single stall though some were more tightly packed than others. Sadly a minus is there is no wheelchair or disabled accessible toilet despite the general access being good.

Loved this place, brought back so many memories of growing up. Something for everyone here. Give yourself plenty of time to look around as there is so much choice. Don't miss the coffee shop, delicious cake and coffee.
P. B.
I am a regular buyer here but I was really disappointed on my visit this week to find that something had changed with the lighting and it was really dark and gloomy, so it was hard to see in some of the more crowded stalls and it was absolutely freezing. I am one of those people that never wears a coat but I had to go out to the car to get one and found it was colder inside than it was outside. Perhaps it is because of the energy costs but it did make shopping a rather depressing experience. Hopefully this is a temporary glitch in an otherwise excellent antique centre.
C. T.
Great place. Much variety. Mirrors a plenty. Lots of garden items. Checkout the outside display area for bargains. 04/22
I. G.
The only place in Hampshire like it and everything changes within a couple of weeks every time I've been I've bought something well worth a visit.
T. D.
Magic place, could spend hours looking at all the bits and pieces in the shop. Lovely selection. Great service at the cafe, friendly staff, great cakes🎂
M. C.
You could lose yourself in here for hours, and I have!
Best place to come if you're a perpetual browser and always looking for a bargain.
So many things by so many private vendors it's always worth a visit to see what has just come in. Be quick though, the good stuff goes quickly!
J. P.
Great place to find all the little bits that you can't find in shops any more. Also I have pick up some really nice furniture.
J. T.
Lovely little place to wander around, lots of varying stock, interesting venue with goods of all values, old to modern objects on view. No purchase for us today but a very pleasant experience anyway
A. M.
Good range of items being sold by many different sellers.
Picture shows T87
C. Y.
Love this place, great for any vintage lover, full of great little nick nacks you don't find on the highstreet, lovely little café too, just a great way to escape the outside world for a couple of hours
N. S.
Really nice place, loved wandering around the emporium, café was really nice with lovely staff and great coffee and cake! Highly recommended popping in if you get the chance :)
L. V.
Love this place. You need a magpies eye though. Great coffee and cake too 😋
S. B.
Nice place.ike to look around. Plenty of pretty things to look at.
W. (.
Great for treasure seekers, reasonable prices, lots to see, nicely organised.
Highly recommended
L. R.
Freezing cold inside. Wear lots of layers for your visit. A warehouse full of lots of other people's rubbish....you might find your treasure there...if you are very very very lucky!
M. H. F.
It is a very lovely place with loads of old and new stuff. Give yourself plenty of time 10/10
P. H.
When we found the place I was very impressed. Only looked around the outer circle that day. Going back for a second time this week. Sadly my poor eyesight let me down - plus it seemed dark in the big warehouse. Lovely tea room, enjoyed a bacon butty and cuppa. Sadly the toilets are on the second floor. Lots of steps but next time will ask about disabled ♿ toilets which I need. Not bad prices either, card only at the moment though.
C. P.
Good stalls good variety. Just a bit cold look foward to visiting on warmer day
S. T.
My second visit to the Emporium and a leisurely two hours spent here. There is a large variety of both vintage and upcycled goods and items are priced fairly and it's possible to pick up a bargain. Some lovely quirky and unusual items. The staff are friendly and although I have not eaten in the little cafe the aroma coming from it's vicinity was tempting!
D. M.
By far the best Robins Nest Emporium...vast array of vintage...antique...collectable and quirky items.
The Cafe is great...deliciously morish cakes and a much enjoyed Bacon sandwich for hubby and a delish tuna melt for me for lunch on Sunday.
Staff are fabulous..all dressed up for Halloween and very friendly and chatty and promptly served we will definitely be back...many thanks to the Cafe staff
W. T.
I have lived right around the corner from this for almost 3 years and for some reason didn't decided to go in until recently! I'm so glad I did, I love this place. The staff are all professional and courteous. The coffee shop is cheap and has a cool vibe with quick table service. Now to what the shop actually sells. It's mostly an antique style shop that also has a few bays dedicated to to local small businesses selling their products. Each are unique and you can pickup some very cool stuff here. Get yourselves down there for a browse. You won't be disappointed!
H.
Robins Nest Emporium is really nice place to wonder around and see a good array of vintage and antique items from tables and cabinets to small trinkets like bottle openers and ornaments. There are a few around new, but this one stands out, plenty of parking normally, and a cafe inside.
There's also a few hand crafted items, and custom creations too.
Z. J.
Always a mix of objects and furniture, never know what you will find.
Has a coffee shop with friendly staff.
s. w.
Always a wonder to visit, one of my favourite places in the whole of Southampton. Every time it's someone's birthday, I come and wander around until I find the perfect item (I always do!). And accidentally buy myself several presents at the same time 😬
P. A.
Super place love it well worth look..
J. B.
A good collection of bits and bobs. If you like vintage and retro you need to have a look. I bought a lovely boat mirror, just right for our seaside themed sunroom
N. N. R. C.
A wonderful experience and it'll take more than one trip to see all the fantastic eclectic array of collectibles and the price's vary but are not extortionate.
Beautiful place to lose yourself for hour's.
Fabulous café and lot's of variety.
5 stars
H. B.
Always welcoming. Love our visits. You can buy anything and everything and the coffee is great too.
O. S.
A nice collection of bits and pieces. The cafe has really great tasting cakes.
P. B.
Nice. And some sweet lovely finds. And the bacon sarnie was perfect.
N. T.
Very quirky place that you could easily lose a couple of hours in. Loads of bits and pieces and little gems to furnish the home with. Nice little cafe as well. Huge shame its sister store in winnal closed.
d.
Luvely cafe, super coffee, luvely cake, nice staff, what more do you need 😉
j. s.
As the person in a previous review said the toilets are up two flights of stairs so don't go if you are disabled, there isn't even a portaloo! When I asked I was told to drive back to the traffic lights and use the WC in Tesco's. But they do welcome dogs! Saying that it's a great place to visit if you're not disabled. There is so much to see and the staff are very friendly.
S. P.
Two lovely purchases yesterday, a hand crafted metal star to stand in my kitchen and a vintage ice box in the shape of a green apple, love it! If you see something buy it, because it won’t be there when you return! Loved a chest of drawers on Bettys Attic and vintage sweatshirts as well!! 5 stars for the stands but gave 4 because the lighting and so cold.
D.
Such a cool place to visit, lots of antiques, unique handmade items & even a coffee shop...
Z.
A lovely hidden place with a good selection of vintage stuff. I was so determined not to buy anything but it was impossible leaving empty handed. The coffee is really nice as well and we had lovely cakes and coffees half way through browsing. It is an ideal place to stroll down with someone special on memory lane
A. P.
Great little place with load of different stalls
m. h.
Thought I'd take a look, and for some people it's like a treasure trove, I'd say it's always worth a visit, I went for garden ornaments, and left with a large stone snail at a reasonable price, will be visiting again, they also have a place to sit & buy food & drinks x
a. w.
Lovely place to look around especially if you like old brick a brac. The cafe did a nice selection of sandwiches ,snacks and hot and cold drinks. The staff were very polite, helpful and friendly .Worth a visit
J. S.
Very interesting. Lots of lovely unusual articles.
R. H.
Great place for a wander and coffee. Items ranging from cheap collectables to proper antiques and everything in between.
B. F.
We love this place. Always come home with new treasures. Cafe is good and friendly. Wrap up warm in winter.
S. L. A.
Lots of bric and brac. Some exquisite china to be found. Antique silver jeweleries in locked cabinets. There's furnitures, clothing and art pieces. Inside there is a small cafe serving hot drinks, sandwiches and pastries.
G. G.
Well worth a visit...so much to see...
V. H.
Interesting browsing place. If the weather is cold, wrap up, poor heating. A good variety of collectables interestingly displayed. Coffee shop is good. Easy parking too.
Really helpful staff who loaded a bookcase for me. Great to browse and find treasures, well laid out units with a good variety of collectables. Well worth a visit.
s. k.
So much variety and choice. Cafe is great too.
S. J.
A very interesting place to spend an hour or two browsing. They are dog-friendly and have a good café.
K. B.
Lots of unusual collectables. I've picked up a few bargains here.
Very good coffee shop which sells home made cakes.
D. H.
Love love love Robin's Nest, can never just pop in for a browse!!
J. N.
Very cosy and a great place for random little things that may take your fancy - also has a cafe inside
h.
Looooove this place. Have bought so many antique bits and bobs since they've been there! There's so much choice, the smell of delicious food from the cafe which by the way has excellent coffee, and beautiful gifts available. Don't miss this one if you like retro, antique and handmade items.
D. F.
Great place full of all sorts of obscure items. From garden fixtures, upcycled lamps, jewellery and so on.
Large open plan warehouse layout.
Nice café
Decent toilets
Large free car parking.
J. P.
Cafe fine but can be cold
S. D. C. M.
A wonderful place with many upcycled items, new and vintage. From jewellery, clothing, furniture, garden, etc. Regular visits required as stock constantly changing. Nice in house cafe. Plenty of free parking.
N. d. F.
It's an interesting place to visit but would be cautious as their Covid 19 precautions are far too lax. No distance markings or one way system. A one way system would be so easy to implement here and would ensure all stalls were seen. No screen on cash desk and cashier was not wearing a mask. Coffee shop open and people sitting bit not great spacing on tables and again no floor markings. A lovely place for a browse but too risky for us at the moment.
K. E.
Fascinating place well worth the visit.
K. L.
Robins Nest is a collection of small antique dealers who sell affordable, interesting antiques. It has a small cafe that provides tea, coffee and sandwiches. You can easily loose a couple of hours, browsing the stock for sale.
D. H.
This place is amazing, like Aladdin's cave & reasonable prices, I can't believe I've never been here before, definitely going to become a regular!
F.
Positives : Really helpful staff , great coffee , Easy Parking & Location
Negs: Stock Rotation is poor and need more antiques and not craft.
D. L.
A real treasure trove. Absolutely huge range of things from furniture to crafts. Really worth a visit. Good coffee shop which does very good food. In a warehouse so can be chilly on a cold day so definitely bring warm clothes. Well worth a visit
J. C.
This place is great - food, coffee and antiques - great for local businesses - there's nothing quite like it.
P.
A real hidden gem, love this place, there are loads of interesting things at very fair prices will definitely be coming back
M.
Lovely staff, friendly and helpful! Lots of little treasures to browse through, new and pre-owned. I love the one opposite the Holyrood Church. ❤️
D. G.
Hidden away and so near to Tesco, Tabora way. Olde world goodies and new. You can spend a few hours wandering round looking at the items for sale. It's in a large warehouse, and there's a coffee shop (and toilets) in the corner, with good tea, coffee, on the spot cooked sandwiches (egg, bacon etc) and cakes.
It's well worth a visit to pick up little things for Xmas presents.
I took a picture of this as Rowland Ward had a shop in Nairobi, Kenya, which we all bought from, mostly related to game (lions etc)
p. b.
Love this place as loads clothes, pictures and artifacts from 50/60/70/80s.from postcards to furniture to collectables. And nice tea room with homemade cake. They use missmatched bone china.. quant. comfy old style arm chairs...great.Always a pleasure to browse without pressure to buy.
G. B.
lovely place took us long enough to find you x
F.
Lots of everything!! It's like walking into Aladdin's cave!! Some bits cheap, unfortunately there's a lot of overpriced goods as well. You could walk into Shirley and buy the same thing for a lot less.
C. M.
Lovely mishmash of vintage and new items at very reasonable prices. Coffee shop is also a bonus. Allow yourself a good hour or so to have a proper look around
J. W.
Robin's Nest is in such a good location in Southampton partly as it has parking. Great place to visit, lots of space inside and some very talented traders, lovely helpful staff and a coffee shop. Looking forward to it opening after lockdown.
S. L. R.
Helpful staff, lovely clean store (minus dust which can't be helped in a warehouse and around antiques) beautiful variety and it's always pleasant to visit. Clear covid guidelines and very friendly. Will be back.
s. b.
Great place to have a good look around. Nice coffee and cake in the outside area provided .
J. C.
Interesting place to wander around. Lots of retro stuff, some original, some not. Reasonable prices. Coffee shop with lovely home made cakes. Only problem is the loos are up two steep flights of stairs!
D. E.
Lovely place. Items for sale that will bring back memories from the past. Reasonable prices from individual stall holders. Nice cafe as well. With decent cuppa, cake or sandwich. Highly recommend a visit. Opens at 10
Z. I.
It full of weird and wonderful stuff. Little stalls/ shops all under one roof. You won't find stall owners standing there to sell you. Pick the item and take it to the front desk if you want to buy it. It has a lovely little independent coffee shop tucked away at the back of the nest!
K. D.
If you love antiques And collectable, You will love it here. While away a few hours. Have a drink in the cafe, meet friends and maybe buy a little treat for yourself or something handmade for a gift. Bright and cheerful. Plenty of parking spaces too K
s. s.
The cafe is fantastic, they even have vegan coffee drinks and an amazing vegan banana walnut cake. Their non-vegan coffee drinks and cake are awesome also. Really quaint with super lovely, friendly staff. The emporium is an incredible treasure trove in itself and the cafe is the icing on the cake!
R. S.
Great coffee. Dog friendly. Interesting junk. What more do u want on a lazy saturday.
T. X.
We are down in Southampton visiting family and was told about this little place. We had a few hours to spare and had to come. There are plenty of antique, vintage and collectables to go at, we got a few little bargains to add to our own collections. The emporium is nicely set out and there's a cafe for a coffee and homemade cake when in need. Definitely will call again when we get the chance.
J. R.
A little haven of retro, kitsch, bits & bobs.
C. N.
It’s a cool place , interesting things but not so cheap. Coming from London thinking would be a little bit cheaper , no , not at all . Could probably find some bargains but got to spend a day I guess, didn’t had that much time.
S. H.
What's not to like?
Walked round twice as we missed loads first time round.
Antiques, kitsch, bric a brac, second hand stuff, nothing is too expensive which I loved.
The outside isnt very attractive and you do wonder if you're in the right place but the signs point you in the right direction.
I went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasnt really busy so I could browse at my own pace.
Theres a nice cafe too which was full so that speaks for itself.
Do yourself a favour and investigate.
J. W.
Great little cafe and really interesting to browse around the shop units. Would have given it 5 stars if there was a downstairs loo for disabled.
T. F.
Lots of quirky things to buy. We spent 2 hours browsing. Lovely coffee shop with friendly staff . Just wrap up warm it gets cold inside
C. M.
Great place to have a nose around for those unusual things we all don't know we what/need. Plus a coffee shop.
J. T.
Cool, interesting place to spend an hour browsing round. Allow plenty of time as there is lots to see. Loads of second hand refurbed furniture, pictures, tableware, houseware etc... also has a good cafe with a few vegan options. definitely a place to go if you want to add some interest to your house or garden.
T. A.
Love this place. So much to see.
J. O.
Had a fantastic time at the
Classic car boot & Vintage Flea Market today! Arrived when opened at 10 and managed to get around in my wheelchair quite easily, will definitely be coming back in November!
P. J.
Having visited the Fareham branch, which is equally brilliant, we decided to go to the Southampton branch, and unsurprisingly spent over 3 hours mooching about amongst the antiques and collectables, Something for everyone and every pocket, we came away with several items, and will definitely be returning soon. 👍👍
G. J.
This is a really interesting place to have a wander round. I didn't find what I was looking for but there was such an eclectic mix of goods to look at I didn't mind wasting 45mins looking around. Lots of one of a kind items and generally good value
S. K.
Great place around birthdays and Christmas for inspiration for creative presents. The warehouse is huge and could honestly spend the day there, really glad there's a coffee shop attached!
C. M.
Love this place. Loads of things to buy at realistic prices. The cafe has great cakes and lunches and all of the staff are wonderful.
K. M.
Totally fascinating place to spend a couple of hours browsing. A decent mug of hot coffee and toastie from the café.
b. v.
Loved browsing for hours and great café. Really good cake. Lovely staff very helpful.
P. R.
Good place to look around lots to see. Snack portions rather small not good if your hungry but good quality. Oh dear oh dear toilets up two flights of steep stairs 30 steps not good if you are desperate and very bad news if you are disabled no lift makes it impossible!! Shame shame shame.
S. S.
Always come away with something amazing. Love having a good rummage! My house is gradually filling up and becoming it's own Robin's Nest... Too many fab things!
S. P.
It's like a trip back in time. I loved seeing things from my childhood. The cafe there is nice too, it's worth a visit just for the biscoffe cake!
T. S.
What a fab little place. Plenty of vintage antiques etc. Lovely little coffee shop with very friendly helpful staff. Well worth a visit especially for something different.
M. E.
Robin's Nest is a lovely mix of vintage, retro and modern 2nd hand and some new items. Many stalls have hand crafted individual items and overall the prices are really fair. Almost impossible not to find something you like! Cafe on site too, staff helpful, nice place to look round. Perfect for that 'individual' gift, and to end up buying any number of things you didn't need. Just bought a Murano fish - surely everyone needs one of those...
S. J.
Always an interesting visit. Great coffee and cake as well.
I. A. (.
Robin's Nest is pretty cool for the adults, but kids aren't that interested. But the food is lovely and seating is easy to get at. There's a range of items to look at and maybe even buy.
D. P.
It’s a lovely little place. Loads of antique-y bits if you’re into that kind of thing. Worth a visit.
I. H.
Great place to visit, really varied items, reasonably priced, friendly staff, cafe, toilets and loads of parking.. Get down and take a look.
S. A.
Hopefully they will be open again on 12th April. Great unusalbitems that can be given as gifts. Handmade or vintage
D. P.
Loads of one-offs and interesting things there.
The things there change all the time.
Its basically like a market place, loads of different sellers under one roof.
Plus a very nice cafe.
J.
Nice and quirky with lots of vintage and antique stalls, little cafe inside as well.
Only thing, was that the toilets were up right at the top of the stairs, poor old fella in front of me wasn't pleased.
M. C.
Really interesting shopping experience. Great place, lots of stock, something for everyone. Well laid out store. Definitely worth a visit.
l.
Loved it not from up there . But my mate told me and glad he did .lovely hidden gems .

If you are shopping on the emporium then this gets another star. The coffee shop is ok but not excellent although the ambience is great.

M. B.
It is a great place, I love it there. So much nice stuff to look at. They do great coffee also. I highly recommend it.
H. T.
Nice staff and excellent cake :) but no disabled toilet so you have to go up lots of stairs. If you can't manage that, don't go as there are no alternatives at present.
N. “. D.
Fantastic place, prices can be too steep but the coffee shop is out of this world, definitely try the "vegan fruit cake ".
L. J.
Excellent home cooked food, not over priced, bright open cafe with facilities for young children in next room, well worth’s visit, try the home made lamb burgers and old fashioned fruit cake excellent
S. B.
Highly enjoyable store packed full of interesting and unique items. Well worth a visit for a new shopping experience!
A. T.
Really interesting "vintage" furniture and stuff... Nice little cafe, fun to browse and pick up ideas and furniture. Nice staff. Bit of a problem with their payment system but solved it eventually.
R. D.
The Robin's nest is great. Quirky variety of odds and bods from individual traders. A Portobello Rd. Coffee shops not bad either.
A. E.
Massive space with lots of traders stall to hunt through. We found a few gems for home, impressed and will visit again soon..
T. K.
Friendly people. Nice coffee. Good for a rummage about. Not quite Antiques Road show but lots of bits and pieces that might just catch your attention.
S. S.
Exactly as expected. Cafe was pleasant.
E. G.
Large amount of items to look at and buy. Great for browsing and ideas. Cafe looked good, but limited menu and exclusive food made it too expensive for our family.
D. C.
Great clean tidy staff very good will go back cant wait for bittern to open
A. H.
A nice place that's really starting to get going!!
A. M.
I love this place! I often visit to have the delicious coffee and cake in the friendly cafe and browse the shops for vintage bric a brac.
