I discovered Keeling Timber a while back now as I was looking for an alternative to the usual 'big shed' supplier but importantly I needed a supplier that had the facility to cut any pieces I ordered as required. Keeling's fitted the bill perfectly. I have subsequently ordered materials from them a few times now, nothing big, just for general domestic projects and found them to be extremely friendly, very aware of what I was looking for and therefore very helpful. Despite the current Covid situation they have been able to supply me with everything I need an a timely and safe manner - very good Covid practice is in place. The addition of the online ordering system too was a pleasant surprise this time and everything you need, to include cutting requirements, can be entered. You can choose a date and time to collect and you are provided with confirmations all the way. An excellent outlet with excellent service and one that I shall continue to use, over and above other options. below are a couple of photographs of the timber for the current projects at home - garden and plant display stands commissioned by 'the authorities'.

In general, Keeling Timber is my "go to" supplier, as they are bound to provide high quality materials. I purchased some treated 8x2 joists (4.2m long) for a gardening/landscaping project. I made the purchase online at 22:00, and delivery arrived the next day before noon. The joists were generally of good quality, with vey few instances of checking, cupping, bowing. No instances of warping/twisting! Impregnation of biocide averaged at 1.5 mm deep, but in some areas was as low as less than 0.5 mm deep. Only one issue: the timber was soaked (freshly treated?) and it took a few days before I could work with it.

Only recently discover Keelings. They do Birch Ply at a reasonable price, its good quality and not warped. But best of all, they deliver within 25 miles of Stoke free for orders over £120, unlike many others who often charge more for delivery than the product itself. Delivery was fast. I've yet to buy other materials from them, but I will be soon. Recommended.

I've always been aware of keelings living close to it, but during the first lockdown I found it difficult to get materials from my existing suppliers so I tried keelings. Their online shop allows you to search for all sorts of different size timber required for your jobs that other suppliers don't sell meaning less waste on projects. The prices in my opinion are fair when comparing with other suppliers and they even offer a cutting service if required, they've cut sleepers in half for me and even 4x2 to make 2x2 beams for a screen I was creating. Will is very helpful in the office and your order is always picked on time so you can just pull in pick your timber up and go, non of the messing around at other places having to pick your stock yourself then load it up then queue to pay. There's a new payment system online now which makes it even easier to pay for your timber. I go online to keelings to price and look up most jobs I do with timber now. They can to delivery within a couple of days if you require but I find the click and collect the fastest and easiest.

Bought couple of sheets of birch ply about 6 months ago, nice quality timber, will use again. Only issue was that now I've gone to use it, the quality of the cuts are pretty poor (paid the extra cutting fee so I didn't have to handle 8x4 sheets through my small table saw!), like they were rushed and done with a really old blade. Lots of splintering along the edges, even my DIY machine does a better job. I should have inspected more carefully when I collected, I will next time! Maybe the guys cutting it were more used to butchering stuff for shuttering or wall lining, not furniture making!
