Absolutely amazing engineering and research Guy Cowen / Archive-X has done to bring us the most precise and accurate color matches to the original Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) screen used props and models of the classic Star Wars Universe. You will not find anything closer unless you're lucky enough to still own original vintage Floquil and Polly Scale colors used by the ILM Model Makers. Archive-X has replicated these colors to a science. Archive's brand new acrylic line pigments are ultra smooth with fantastic airbrush coverage and stroke free paint leveling when brushed by hand. I am excited to create the most accurate archive worthy replicas out of all my Star Wars kits with these paints. Shipping time from ordering in the UK to the delivery in my hands here in the USA was a speedy dream (only a little over a week's time...and considering this pandemic, that is magical). I use Archive-x on my Star Wars replicas for the most accurate colours as used by ILM in the original films. The paint is very high quality, easy to use and creates a wonderfully smooth finish. Perfect for airbrush when thinned with white spirit, but also goes on smoothly for weathering washes. Customer service is excellent and the delivery is always fast and safe.

These paints are a dream to work with. Colors you just can't get anywhere else. I bought into Archive-X primarily for my Star Wars kits due to the accuracy of the color range, but I use them for every kit I build now. Best model paints out there. Colors are meticulously matched to vintage railroad hues perfect for star wars models and much more! So far I've only used the enamels and love the ease of use, the richness of colors, and the ease of cleanup. Works great through an airbrush or applied by hand with a paintbrush. Best paints I've ever used. Not only do they match perfectly to all your favourite star wars ships and props but the high pigment count means they can be thinned more than other paints. They do seem more expensive than standard paints but the bottles are twice the size so really it's not much more. Customer service is great, any questions they are more than happy to help with.

I recently ordered several Archive-X acrylic paints. They are formulated to match the old Floquil and Polly Scale colors, and they're excellent matches. The paints are suitable for brushing by hand, or for spraying with an airbrush with a bit of acrylic thinner or plain water. These paints are great overall. Very high quality and easy to dispense in the dropper-type plastic bottles. Hopefully they'll find a US distributer to make it even easier to order.

Can’t rate this paint range high enough. I use the enamel type and love them. Colour matched to perfection to replicate the original paint used by ILM for the original trilogy movies. Using these paints really make your Star Wars models look like the real thing!

Premium quality paints. A must for anyone trying to replicate the ILM way of painting. Not just excellent for scale models, but also full sized suits such as Boba Fett, Boushh and others. Can’t wait to try out the acrylic range when it becomes available.
