I needed some advice on a project I was trying. The member of staff on the shop floor really helped me. Then I needed some help with another craft and she gave me some advice and took me to where the items were. Very helpful and friendly. We went to the till and the member of staff reminded me about my Hobbycraft card. Great service all round. Very happy whenever I go to the Watford branch. Even my nearly 3 year old granddaughter says it's her and Nanny's favourite shop. Top marks.

Although it's the only Hobbycraft I've been to, if they're all as good as this, their success is no surprise. There is a vast range of craft materials for all crafts. The quality is always great and the price very good. Most importantly, the staff are all friendly and knowledgable. I'd particularly recommend the WI range of yarn that is often 3 for 2 and the great value kids crafts.

My daughter loves this store! They've got a lot of variety catering for different hobbies and pastimes. It's quite busy here most of the time, but free parking on site, and plenty of people working there so the queue is never too long. I would happily visit again, great service!

A good all round store. Wide selection, store has a good range of products. I saw lots of kids crafting supplies, a great baking supplies area, a good deal of yarns and a reasonably good paint selection. The disappointing elements of this particular establishment: While they have a large range of hobbies that they cater to, each hobby (or section) has very little in it, and some hobbies are not even included. The sewing fabrics department is exceptionally unimpressive and leaves much to be desired. And most of the staff are aloof and don't really seem like they want to help you. They are never rude, but they are never welcoming either. Overall not a bad store just wished they had more fabric at a decent price.

We asked for help finding some brushes and he went above and beyond to help us find the right ones for our needs. There was a good range in there. Great place, it is a pleasure to shop in there. Me and my daughter are very pleased with the offerts and most of the prices. Also shopping online and picking up in store is very convenient and easy. Hobbycraft is a craft supermarket. Whatever it is you want to do, they sell stuff for it. Sewing, sticking, cutting, moulding, painting, making, decorating, knitting to name but a few. I bought a plastic cake storage box, a sheet of small, heart shaped stickers, a pack of multi coloured A5 cards and a paper cutter. To be honest, the place was so big and so full of stuff that I found the experience somewhat overwhelming. I also found their products somewhat expensive but I may not be living in the real world. I will probably be back because a lot of the small shops which used to serve these markets have gone and those which haven't are even more expensive (generally).

Ok today (24/09/21) though they didn't have the number 4 wooden cutout, in any size for a project I am working on. So got the paper mache version of it. If my idea works then great, if not I'll have to go back or to another store. The staff were also surprised that the number 4 was gone, unless there is lots of people that have that number as their fave as well!! They had everything else I required for my arts & crafts hobby box so happy to praise the staff & store. Thanks 👍

Great place for party stuff as well as for kids

This is one of my favourite shops I go to. Everything you need for crafting is there with a good selection of hobby items. They also do classes in all kinds of crafting and hobbies. They have crafting items for all ages, the staff are helpful and friendly. So if you are looking for somewhere to buy crafting materials this should be your first stop. It is also just round the corner from bushey and oxhey Park and it is situated amongst other shops like KFC, curry's, home sense and many other stores. There is a large carpark with plenty of disabled parking at the front of the stores.

Went to Hobbycraft to get a soldering iron as my old soldering iron was temperamental, The soldering iron comes with everything you would need which was a pleasant surprise, Stand, solder, tweezers, sponge,flat solder point, all in the packet, where some places you only get the soldering iron, For the different things Hobbycraft do for hobbies I must definitely go there more, Well worth a visit,

It's a great place to wander around, well kept, plenty of stock really lovely helpful staff. I went to pick up an order I'd made and as usual came out with more! The good thing is the extras (MDF cut outs) I bought weren't expensive so I bought for myself and 2other friends for when we had our next couple of crafting days, knowing that if I got a few bits they would bring anything else we needed, it makes a huge difference when the products are so well priced - I can't wait to get going!

One of the stores I go just for fun and relax to simply be there. Always something new and interesting to discover and... buy. But you'll not regret it as prices are very affordable. You can choose from the simplest crayon sets for your kids to amazing sets for true artists. Great place for DIY freaks they will fin everything to carry on having their hobbies. Staff is always smiley and friendly. Not hard to fins someone who can help you.

This is that art and hobby centre that you go to for all your material supplies etc. It was not crowded when I went, the retail park was less than a third full with plenty of car parking. Hobby craft seems well stock and relatively moderate prices. I manage to get all my needs on this visit with no queues at the pay point. Highly recommended.

I could live here! They have all your crafting needs under one roof. Slightly on the pricey side but occasionally you will puck up a bargain. They hold workshops too. I went to a tie dye work shop which was really fun. The staff could do with a bit of cheering up but other than that...a great place!

Good shop and good staff. Visited the shop watford century retail park on Sunday 26/07/2020. Security officer was unbelievable No experience what so ever. Standing like a gangster, to busy in his phone, not looking or saying hello Hi to any customers. Wearing jeans and adidas trainers. Leaving the main doors unattended. People were taking pictures of him. So good luck to that security company. My point of view Hobby Craft should really have a word with the Security company who they hired. Very unprofessional 👎

Stencils, decorative baking items, wool, haberdashery, storage, sewing equipment, pretty much anything you need you can find, and a great shop for gifts. Staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, the shop is clean and there is ample parking, including disabled parking. Handy shop as its near Currys, Homesense, Pets at Home, and Halfords, and a short distance from the next shopping complex at Waterfields.

It's ok, very spacious but Hobbycraft as a whole seems to have shortened their lines in all areas and this is more noticeable at Watford. Furthermore, I have had several issues with using the special offers there where things are put on the wrong sections. Word of warning to students- you're student discount will be discounted on any special offers they have unless you get the right member of staff.

Typical Hobby Craft store with plenty of stock to choose from. Located in a retail park there is plenty of parking and access is easy. Its on one floor so wheelchair access is perfect. Staff seem friendly.

An excellent store with a wide range of art and craft materials. In addition to hobbyists seeking out specialist materials, the shop was full of parents with their children finding supplies from school art projects. Hobbycraft has something for everyone, from model trains and aircraft, to scrap booking, papier mache, knitting, cross stitch, painting and even specialist cake decorating. The shop is in a retail park, so there's plenty of parking.

free-range eggs 225g/8oz caster sugar, plus a little extra for dusting the finished cake 225g/8oz self-raising flour 2 tsp baking powder 225g/8oz baking spread, margarine or soft butter at room temperature, plus a little extra to grease the tins To serve good-quality strawberry or raspberry jam whipped double cream (optional) Recipe tips How-to-videos Method Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Grease and line 2 x 20cm/8in sandwich tins. (Use a piece of baking paper to rub a little baking spread or butter around the inside of the tins until the sides and base are lightly coated then line the bottom of the tins with a circle of baking paper. Break the eggs into a large mixing bowl, then add the sugar, flour, baking powder and baking spread. Mix everything together until well combined with an electric hand mixer (you can also use a wooden spoon) but be careful not to over mix. Put a damp cloth under your bowl when you’re mixing to stop it moving around. The finished mixture should fall off a spoon easily. Divide the mixture evenly between the tins: this doesn’t need to be exact, but you can weigh the filled tins if you want to check. Use a spatula to remove all of the mixture from the bowl and gently smooth the surface of the cakes. Place the tins on the middle shelf of the oven and bake for 25 minutes. Don't be tempted to open the door while they're cooking, but after 20 minutes do look through the door to check them. The cakes are done when they’re golden-brown and coming away from the edge of the tins. Press them gently to check – they should be springy to the touch. Remove them from the oven and set aside to cool in their tins for five minutes. Then run a palette or rounded butter knife around the inside edge of the tin and carefully turn the cakes out onto a cooling rack. To take your cakes out of the tins without leaving a wire rack mark on the top, put the clean tea towel over the tin, put your hand onto the tea towel and turn the tin upside-down. The cake should come out onto your hand and the tea towel – then you can turn it from your hand onto the wire rack. Set aside to cool completely. To assemble the cake, place one cake upside down onto a plate and spread it with plenty of jam. If you want to, you can spread over whipped cream too. Top with the second cake, top-side up. Sprinkle over the caster sugar.
