Reviews of WHSmith
H. K.Convenient post office upstairs but there's usually a queue. This goes down quite quickly, especially if you use the new self service stations. There's always someone around to help you with those. There's a big selection of stationery and books as you would expect. And you can put the lottery on here too.
R. R.Went in to use the self service posting service. Fairly straightforward to use, could've done with a little more guidance from the attendant as it was the first time using it and had a few questions. All in all much quicker than waiting in the line for a cashier.
A.I only use this Smiths for the Post Office inside. Set up is a bit clumsy, if you want to buy packaging for what you're sending you need to use the downstairs checkout in Smiths rather than being able to use the Post Office one.
The Post Office is often under staffed, rarely have I seen more than one check out open despite the queue, which is on the order of ten minutes.
There are self-service checkouts which are manned, but they are so difficult to use the member of staff just does it for you rendering them nearly pointless.
S. S.It's a fairly typical WH Smith, but the shop is too cluttered. The books are upstairs, but there's no cash desk there. Stationery, cards and so on are downstairs where the cash desk is. I don't find it a very pleasant place to do my shopping. But that's just me. You might like it.
G. E.Far far too much stuff blocking isles. It was very difficult to walk around the store. The escalator was broken, but there wasn't anyone there to say there was a lift at the back of the store. The post office is upstairs, so I struggled up and only saw the lift buried behind 6ft high book shelves when I went to that area.
S. W.Attended the post office in High Street this morning. Disgusting service. No real effort from staff to reduce the queue. Unpleasant attitude of staff also. Will hopefully avoid this situation in the future. Appalled.
R.The post office is located on the first floor of WHSmith. Be aware if you need to purchase an envelope to send a package or letter you have to pay for it at a WHSmith counter as the post office can't take payment. Crazy.
P. S. P.Don't go in for a visit to the post office section in a hurry! 3 self serve machines - none of them working and only 2 actual cashiers.
J. B.Good store, friendly staff in WHS and the Post Office - lots of new self service machines - i presume for speed. Shame tho, these things replace jobs instead :/
a. f.Unfortunately a system failure on the post office side caused mayhem. Totally nothing to do with the hardworking staff. May be more of an issue later when the escalator up to books and p.o will be closed for maintenance
