One of our first stops on our little visit to York, and probably one of the best. My partner and I both say this is the best fudge we have had in our lives. My claim is for the vegan fudges, and my partner said that both the dairy and vegan versions were excellent. They are very smooth and creamy, the non-chocolate ones almost seem to melt after getting through the exterior of each slice. We tried a variety of flavours including vanillas, butterscotch and chocolate. We loved them all. Thank you! :)

Bought some fudge for friends and family during a quick trip to York. Customer service was excellent and had a number of delicious tasters to help make a very hard choice slightly easier. The fudge was so delicious that I had to buy some more online when I got home. This could turn into an obsession!

I came to York today with a friend, walked past this fudge shop and was welcomed inside the try a sample by a really lovely lady. The fudge was lovely, it is quite creamy and not grainy like fudge normally is (I don’t like grainy fudge). And I bought a few pieces :) Lovely welcoming and helpful staff and a variety of different tasting fudge. I would recommend :D

Tried a few samples here on Saturday and just had to treat myself to a box of 4 different flavours (not all for me but to share with a friend). We were so delighted with the exceptional quality of this fudge that I returned the next Monday to buy some more, this time a bigger box containing 6 different flavours. We walked into the shop just in time to see how the lemon meringue fudge was made. And, wow, what an experience!!! The smell of citrus filled the entire shop ❤️ We’ve got to taste freshly made fudge ❤️ and off course purchased some to take home 😊 keeping it in the fridge and only having a couple of small pieces with a cuppa tea, so it lasts longer 😊 We’ll definitely come by again next time we’re in York ❤️❤️❤️

I love fudge and i’ve tried a LOT so when I say Fudge Kitchen has the best i’ve ever tasted, it really is. We got the chocolate swirl and dark chocolate and sea salt. It was amazing. crunchy on the inside and smooth on the inside which melts in your mouth. It’s proper special.

I came to York years ago and tried the fudge here and fell in love! During the pandemic I got fudge delivered to my house in Newcastle. I finally came for a holiday in York and came straight back to get more Fudge. I got 6 pieces for £22. Staff are so lovely!

Must. Stop. Eating. Fudge! My son mentioned they do vegan fudge and having not eaten fudge in years I was excited to try it. Please don't be put off if you check the prices in the window and think it seems a bit spenny, the slices are huge. Made fresh, daily, this is amazing fudge. My son had the (dairy) dark chocolate with salt and only a couple of bites made it back to his place; I tried the vegan raspberry, made with real raspberries not flavouring and it's gorgeous. There's just one problem, how do I stop eating it?!

Ok think you're NOT a fudge lover??? Try again...visit the Fudge Kitchen. OMG walk in and inhale the smell...the calories alone in the air make your mouth water. Don't be alarmed at the prices from outside as the "slices" are SLABS. The staff were making some as we were choosing which flavours to have. We were offered samples of each too...and the guy who served us was friendly...patient and very helpful. We opted for the box of 6 Slabs for £22 and can I say the box... packaging and bag (although very heavy!!!) is very gift worthy and professional looking. We chose 2 of the Raspberry and White Chocolate Vanilla Butterscotch Belgian Chocolate Swirl Sherbet Lemon All of the flavours are amazing and will be going back for more. Can I just say...it has a shelf life and can be frozen. If it lasts that long!!! A leaflet explaining is in the box as well as the lovely guy who served us informed us too. You won't be disappointed.

Discovered this place today whilst I had a few hours to kill in York. I ummed and arrred for 5 minutes about whether I could justify the prices but being a big lover of fudge I knew I couldn't leave without some of their incredible looking wares so I got the 6 big slabs for 22 quid offer. Oh. My. God. If you like fudge, just get some, get some now, this is literally so much better than any fudge I've ever had and I've had a lot of fudge. The dark chocolate and sea salt version is like the best brownie and best fudge you've ever had, combined into something ever better than both, then timesed by 100. It is just unbelievably good. The slabs are huge too. I weighed my box of six when I got home and it was 1.4kg. So although the prices seem a bit steep at first, they actually aren't, for what you get in terms of quality and amount it's really cheap! The fudge I usually buy is £1.95 per 100g which sounds cheap, but it would be over a fiver more for the same amount and absolutely nowhere near the quality of what these guys are offering. Amazing!

I wouldn't like to say how many times I've been in here...but the fudge is amazing and I love getting to see them make it. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I also like that they show the ingredients so it's easier when you have allergies to buy the right thing! They also do vegan fudge now. Yum!

The fudge here is the best I have EVER had! The chocolate fudge is deluxe the best I have ever had. They do free samples so if your not sure you can try a bit then decide. Also it can keep for AGES (bist the shop for more info). You can also see them making some (if your lucky :P)

Best fudge I've ever tasted and incredibly friendly staff, service is fantastic and the fact that they let you try all the fudge really shows how confident they are in their product so you can buy your favourites. Lost a star only because on my last visit we were given the wrong fudge and didn't actually like one of the incorrect ones so wasted money and that was quite a let down so advise to watch your box being filled. EDIT: Fudge kitchen customer service went above and beyond replacing my fudge completely unexpectedly from this review so have amended to five star because that shows what a fantastic company this is!

Very friendly staff making and selling a variety of fudge.They even have 3 or 4 vegan varieties for sale. Several fudge samples are available so it would have been rude not to sample them hot and straight from the slab.They even sell a fudge sauce for £5 a bottle.Well worth a visit if travelling to York.A great atmosphere in store which you could pick up on.Good staff can make or break a business.With so many different varieties of fudge for sale then don't forget your wallet.

The fudge from place is beyond beaut!! A little on the expensive side but you get to see them make it if your in at the right time, you get a decent slab and the service is brilliant. Did the fudge making experience with my hen party and it was fantastic! You got to test as many flavours as you wanted and you took 4 slabs of fudge home each. Learned and actively made some fudge from scratch. Really interesting, and tasty! I always love visiting this shop.

It's a treat to go there each time we go to York. If we are lucky we get to see the fudge being made. There's a great selection of regular favourites for sale and one or two additional ones are different. The special Christmas fudge was particularly good. It's not cheap, but worth it as a treat. And, you get to sample before you buy to make sure you get the best one.

A must stop place for me every time I am in York or Windsor. The fudge they make is second to none! I love that you can taste any of the fudge as well. It really makes the discussion of picking which fudge to buy so much harder though. You can also watch the fudge being made, if you catch them doing this, definitely stay and watch, fascinating how they make their own brand of fudge.

Beautiful silky smooth fudge. This is the meltingly delicious type of flavoured fudge, NOT the mostly tasting of brown sugar type (though I enjoy both). I bought the chocolate orange, sea salt and caramel, and strawberries and cream flavours, which were all gorgeous, and tasted exactly as you would expect (although I knew they would as I had tasted two of three in the shop!).

Was invited in by a member of staff as we was passing. On entering the shop was given a very warm welcome and asked if we wanted to try some fudge, we did and was told that they was just about to do a pot of fudge up. We watched it being heated to a point that was pured on to the table and allowed to set for 10min before cool enough to beat. Had a few more samplies and bought 4 fudges in a very nice presentation box. Great place. Will most definitely return in the future.

Without question this is the best fudge I've ever tasted! They always have options of dairy-free / vegan fudge, my personal favourite is the salted caramel. It's not cheap hut honestly is worth every penny. They also are happy for you to sample the different flavours before you buy.

So good. We were able to watch fudge being made. The lady making it has been doing so for 30 years and was happy to answer all our questions. We got to taste the freshly made fudge and could not resist buying a slice straight after it set. Our primary aged kids thought it was awesome too.

This gem of a shop is well worth a visit. We were tempted in the door with the offer of a free taste of fudge and stayed to sample many flavours and watch fresh fudge being made. We left (eventually) some £16 lighter in the pocket with four slabs of deliciousness. Fabulous friendly, helpful staff. No request refused - unlike Roly's that we visited the day before, where we could only sample the vanilla. Don't waste time at Roly's, come here for a far better experience 😋😋😋

Called in here yesterday, couldn't resist a sign saying free samples and they truly delivered. Ended up purchasing the six different slice offer for £22. Super lovely staff, offered up information on the fudges but without being pushy. They do a lemon sherbert one that for a product thats so sweet and sugary it was really refreshing and packed full of flavour, definitely worth a visit.

Brilliant place and amazing fudge it's soooo creamy it's almost like a more solid room temp ice-cream. We were served by Sam who couldn't be more helpful or friendly. As someone who is dairy and gluten free I often end up with no options, 1 or just sugar. My hands were full of samples I had 4 to choose from and Sam was happy to help my mom and sis to find ones that they loved (you never felt awkward or greedy) it was actually a bit of an entertaining experience. We popped in twice and bought 2 lots of 6. I have ended up with 3 dairy free slices and we have bought some for friends/family too. Worth a visit. You can't go wrong as its amazing but also you can try before you buy.
