After a week of prom dress shopping with my daughter, we were starting to lose hope towards the end of half term week as we just hadn’t found the right one. A friend recommended Molly Brown’s in York and we were able to get an appointment and visit last Friday. From the moment we stepped inside we knew this was by far the best shop we had been to. Great selection of dresses and the staff were very helpful. We were looked after by Natasha who was very professional and patient with us. We were left to look around and pick out the dresses that we liked. No pressure and we weren’t rushed into making a decision. We found the perfect dress along with accessories and would highly recommend this shop to anyone 😍

She was amazing couldn't to enough for us recommending different styles for the girls to try. We didn't decide on that first visit but returned the following day with my sister too to try on again. The wedding date drew ever closer and having searched for 10 months for my Mother of the Groom outfit, I was still no closer..and I had only 4 weeks to go. There will be many people who will quite rightly say, this was the bride and groom's day and as long as I looked smart that was all that mattered. But for a variety of reasons which I won't bore you with...my outfit was very important to me ..I had scoured shops, searched online all to no avail...and then, to my great relief, I found Molly Browns, in York, and spoke to Helen Flack. I live at the opposite end of the country so I had no chance of driving the 300 miles to try on an outfit but Helen, reassured me. I ordered two sizes and could send both back if they didn't fit/ or I didn't like them...quite frankly with petrol costs as high as they are, ordering from independent shops online when i knew i could return them if they were not suitable, was amazing..but more than that, I chatted to Helen, explained my situation, and once I received my dresses and chose one of them, the hunt for the hat was on! I felt as if Helen, her team, and the UK agent for Irresistible were pulling out all the stops just for me...and they did, I got my hat and dress...with 4 days to go... they had promised they would sort it on time. And they did, and I could not have been happier. What I'm trying to say in a rather long winded way is, if you choose to buy online...especially from Molly Browns you still get that very personal touch, I have never met Helen from Molly Browns but if I travel up that way, I will call in. Thank all the staff at Molly Browns in York.

With restrictions changing so many time's, my daughters wedding date changed 4 times. Eventually we got a date that was going to happen. I had been searching online for months. Molly Browns in York has an amazing website which is easy to use and one of the only ones to offer delivery at this time. I ordered my beautiful outfit which arrived fast and packaged beautifully. Wow, what a beautiful shop with very friendly and helpful staff. Went last weekend to purchase a Prom dress for my daughter. Jane was so kind and helpful, we were made to feel very welcome and relaxed. Having made an appointment I was delighted to see that my daughter had the first floor to herself, and could browse and try on dresses at her leisure. There was no pushiness to buy the most expensive dress, Jane encouraged my daughter to try on different dress styles, even after she had found a dress she loved, so she could be sure she had made to right choice. Prices are very reasonsable and the dresses totally gorgeous, we were spoilt for choice. Jane helped us with some very useful ideas and advice and we had a lovely morning and came away with a beautiful dress, that fitted perfectly. Thank you very much Jane and Molly Browns.

I bought my mother of the bride dress from this store and found the advice excellent so when a quality evening gown for an important occasion was required for my sons partner this was the place we contacted first. Only going on a picture as the dress had to go to Norway was quite a risk! However the help and advice over the telephone was second to none, all questions were answered confidently and nothing was too much trouble. I had such a great experience today in Molly Brown's! From the minute we got in, til the minute we left the staff were so lovely. I went to get a specific prom dress at the shop and I was so happy to leave with it. But even though I went to get a specific dress, Rosie who was helping us out picked up dresses that she thought I would like and I can say that I loved them all. They were dresses I wouldn't have thought of picking up but when I tried them on they were so amazing. She knew what would look good on me and make me feel confident. Rosie also helped pick out jewellery that complemented each of the dresses. The store has so many different selection of dresses, it has something for everybody. Without a doubt Molly Browns is the best prom dress shop for both choice and service. We first visited two years ago when my eldest needed a prom dress. The lady picked one we never would have looked at and it was perfect! This year was my youngest daughter's turn and we were not disappointed. I had a prom dress appointment with my daughter on Saturday and in all honestly, i don't think I have ever come across a more helpful, polite and genuinely lovely lady. Our appointment was with a lady called Helen - who I believe is the store manager. She could not have been more professional. There was no rushing and we managed to purchase the perfect prom dress with absolutely no drama. I have recently purchased a beautiful Irresistible dress from Molly Browns using their online service. This dress is for my mum to wear to my wedding so as you can imagine, a very important decision! I can honestly say that the service delivered by Benjamin excelled not only my previous experiences of online shopping but also surpassed many in store shopping experiences. From the moment I made contact via email, Benjamin was sending me photographs of the dresses I had ordered along with hats and fascinators that would complement them. It almost felt as though we were in store with a personal shopper – fab! My mum is absolutely delighted with her dress. A few slight alterations are needed to get the fit just right, meaning we required some tulle to match the dress. Within days, Benjamin had been in touch with the dress designer, sourced some more fabric and popped in it the post for us at no extra charge - just wonderful. An alterations service was also recommended if we needed it. To sum up, I would recommend Molly Browns to anyone who is looking for an outfit for a special occasion. We had found my daughter's dream Sherri Hill prom dress. The only problem was that it was being sold from only one store in Glasgow, renowned for poor-quality, damaged stock and snooty, unhelpful staff. Determined to locate the dress elsewhere, we searched online and the only other UK stockist we could find was Molly Brown's, some 200 miles away in York. They were selling the exact dress, at a special offer price and throwing in a gorgeous pair of shoes too! Sadly the offer was not available online, but only for in-store purchase. I called the store to enquire anyway and was assisted by the utterly charming Nigel, who arranged for us to take advantage of the offer and agreed to post the dress (and shoes) to us in Scotland. The dress arrived promptly, was beautifully packed and in perfect condition. We are so grateful for Nigel's help and can't praise the customer service we experienced when dealing with all of the staff at Molly Brown's highly enough. As a Mum of three beautiful girls, we would certainly consider making a special trip to York to choose outfits for future special occasions - I'm confident it'd be worth the journey!

This shop is such a hidden gem! I would highly recommend it, the wedding dresses are varied and beautiful and the service was first class. I turned up on the off chance and there happened to have been a cancellation - Dawn was so accommodating and is such an expert. I visited Molly browns of York Dec 28th to purchase a Mother of the bride outfit for my daughters wedding in June. I bought a beautiful John Charles dress. After getting home and then going online to show a friend of mine the dress I suddenly saw another one very similar and I had an awful panic thinking I had bought the wrong dress. (I live over 200 miles away in Bath) I spent a sleepless night worrying myself into a frenzy. In the morning I rang and spoke to a lovely lady called Angela who talked me through my options and suggested I buy the second one online but also that I email a lovely man called Nigel who dealt with the online side of the business. I bought the second dress and Nigel had it despatched to me which I received the next day beautifully package. My daughter came home and we decided that the dress I had originally bought was indeed the right one after all. I returned the second dress to Molly Browns. Nigel and Angela couldn't have been more helpful and were truly wonderful with their very personal approach to customer care. I am absolutely thrilled with my dress and cant wait to wear it to my daughters wedding in June. I cannot speak highly enough of Molly Browns and what a delight they were to deal with from beginning to end with all my problems they couldn't have been more helpful. If you are looking for a fabulous dress with exceptionally good service then this is the place to shop.
