A beautiful shop! Seriously worth checking out. The sales assistants were brilliant at their job and the sale they had on got me spending quite a bit on Christmas decorations in July! Will definitely be back again as I left seriously inspired.

A very good store for collectors. This store literally sells everything any collector, or even anyone would need as a decoration or just for fun, from funny mugs, indoor plants, stuffed animals, keychains, etc. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. But I should say that the price tags are quite high.

This is a feel-good shop, full of treats and delights! The music suits the decor, which is wonderfully thought out with eccentric and entertaining goodies to be purchased. The staff are incredible - friendly, full of useful advice and up for a good laugh and conversation. I could have bought the whole shop but my credit card wouldn’t allow it. Even if you’ve no intention of buying though, it’s a must-visit if you’re in York.

I loved it! The staff were nice, friendly and chatty, and the man at the checkout even checked the mini statue before giving it to me, and even let me check - something in all my shopping experiences I've never seen before. It's filled with cool, quirky items, and stepping into it is like stepping into another world, one where steampunk is certainly real. It's awesome, and I highly recommend that anyone into quirky, wonderful and cool stuff should check it out. It's completely worth it the money. I'll certainly be visiting again some point in the future. It was amazing, and you certainly won't regret it.

Absolutely amazing shop. Loved it! Full of beautiful items and smells amazing! Bought some gorgeous things. Best of all when I had an issue with item and had a very upset little girl they completely resolved it for me and literally saved Christmas! Brilliant customer service! Discovered this store on my search for “The Yorkshire Soap Company”. We received such a wonderfully warm welcome from the staff and it is a feast for the eyes. Beautiful items wherever you look with super helpful staff.

Myself and partner visited the York store recently and were mesmerised by the quality and variety of items for sale. The shop has a very quirky and classy vibe and well worth a visit . On our first visit we were served by Liviya who was very engaging and knowledgable about items for sale and the history behind the items . We were that impressed by our visit we returned the following day to purchase other items including a Mouse lamp , on this occasion we were served by Lauren who again was extremely friendly and engaging . The staff are a credit to the store. We are already regretting not purchasing other items and will defiantly return.

I have been trying to access the store for a while now, but as it is so popular, I couldn't wait in the queue long enough. Finally,I got my chance yesterday and it was worth it. Brilliant selection of curiosities on display for sale,and at quite reasonable prices, which surprised me as I know from experience that these kind of shops can be a trite expensive. Staff are very welcoming and friendly as well as helpful whilst paying attention to their job of serving the customer. I shall return to see what is new in the store,such is its charm and attractive qualities.

A local fixture and well worth the visit. Busy even in the current circumstances so you may have to wait outside before going in. We arrived at 5 to 10 on a Saturday and were already 3rd in the queue. Absolutely beautiful products and wonderful service. Everyone here is willing to go above and beyond to make sure you're served well.

Adore this shop! Found it when visiting York with hubby and had to make the 50 mile trip back just to show my daughter. The items here are fabulous - some mad, some unusual and the rest are just totally bonkers. Perfection in 4 walls and high ceilings... Make sure to look up and take in all the quirky stuff above eye level. Came out very happy with a very grumpy owl to perch on the top of my Christmas tree and a rather cheeky birthday card. Do chat to the staff they make the experience all the more fun, just make sure to give yourself plenty of time to take it all in. :D

At Christmas the large back room is opened up and sells beautiful Christmas decorations.Will put you in the Christmas mood . Just go in ! The window displays are sublime.

A very quirky shop with lots to see. The amazingly interesting variety of stock is displayed in unique ways and there is a baby grand piano plonked right in the middle of the shop too. The staff are friendly and attentive and items are well priced. Well worth a visit!

Words struggle to describe this place, the stock often is changing and it's a beautiful place. Fascinating things from adorable stuffed custom dolls to beautiful candles, birds made out of feathers to Christmas baubles with feathers in. The staff are superb and once you walk in you'll just feel happy. Be warned though, it is very easy to get carried away and buy things!

The front of house team are on the money. A fab blend of quirky and knowledgeable. I left my umbrella and they hadn't hidden it away. Just popped in for a recce late in the evening and they couldn't have been more helpful. Going back to get lots of stocking fillers for our friends.

Yorks hidden secret is about to be shared. Some really amazing items to purchase for both the home and as gifts.I am not saying it's the cheapest shop in town but if you are looking for unusual items that you won't find elsewhere then this is the place to visit.Staff are very friendly and helpful but beware to check out every inch of the store in case you miss that all important gift you are looking for.Well worth a visit if travelling to York and well worth my 5* review.
