Reviews of The York Vikings

Not a bad shop, it's directly on the Shambles, although some items are a bit gimmicky you can still find some interesting stuff.
The guy on the desk mostly just stared at us and didn't speak which made me a little uncomfortable.
Wasn't a lot of options and didn't really find anything different or striking in comparison to the many other viking shops in the area.

I was looking to buy ornamental Dragons, and found this was the perfect place.
Some really cool looking Goblets too,
Polite helpful staff on the day also makes this place worth revisiting again and again.

A great little gift shop for any viking lover.
I actually found a lot of useful information out from the shop and purchased several gifts for friends here. I also got a lovely little glass gift for my mom, that had an etching of a viking ship inside!
Superb gift shop!

Cool little store to visit if your into York's Viking history!

Great attraction would have been useful to know how long it takes so could plan our day. One and a half hours, two hours if you read everything. Knowledgeable team.

Lots of good looking Viking stuff. Got the boy a couple of t-shirts that look good quality.

I want to give it 4 stars for being a bit kitsch, with its horned viking helms that never actually existed, but everyone loves, but I can't bring myself to be so pedantic as I'm the first reviewer! Anyway, despite the slightly kitsch bogus viking additions, massive Thor's hammers and horned helms, the shop is rather nice to look at and I'm sure visitors will love it. Being on The Shambles means the building itself is worth a look inside regardless of what they're selling, but truth be told it is a nice looking shop and it does have some cool gifts for people to take back home. The store keeper was very nice to me as well, so it would be mean to find fault with it.

History has it that the Shambles used to be filled with butcher shops up and down the street therefore getting it's name, but no longer do the meat markets line the streets. Now the Shambles is home to many little shops, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, pubs, candy stores, and an outdoor market. My favorite part of walking the Shambles is the history and the feeling that I get while walking the streets; not only a feeling of joy, but also one of curiosity and uneasiness. Legend has it that there are many ghosts still in the Shambles left from a rather macabre past filled with plagues and murders.

Shop itself is good with a lot of items. Guy who works there though just doesn't seem interested at all. Stands on his phone the whole time you are in the shop. If no one in the shop he sits on the window ledge outside on his phone.
