I've been going to this Middle Eastern supermarket for their blood-letting beef and lamb since I discovered it in November. The quality of their meat is very good and the prices are very reasonable. Not to mention they also have a lovely Middle Eastern bread counter. Often there are vegetables that you can't get in regular supermarkets. If you are a meat lover, bread lover and want to try different vegetables, you must come to Zam Zam.I have recommended Zam Zam to everyone of my friends. i love this supermarket bro！

Very good supermarket with a wide range of Turkish/Arabic food. The bakery is stunning:Fresh baked bread and pastries. I ate a marvellous pastey filled with sheep cheese, superb quality and range of Baklava. Very fresh vegetables and international choice of roots, as cassava, yam and sweet potatoes to very fair prices. An icluded butcher with Halal meat. Friendly staff. A clear recommendations for everybody who prefers this kind of food. Will definitely go shopping there again.

What a huge hidden gem in York. When you first go into the store go immediately to the baker who will bake your bread to order so it is hot when you are ready to leave (doesn't typically make it home uneaten). Then take your time and explore the aisles that are stocked with all sorts of interesting products. Always a food exploration here, and always come home with something new and unusual. At this time the watermelons are fantastic. Make sure you bring one home from the box near the front entrance.

Zam zam is really loaded with all you want for an Indian collection also other country products. The young gentleman who usually works on counter is really kind and helpful. Our favourite pick is their flat breads and how cheap they are, we have been to makkah on hull road as well that is exclusive for Pakistani and Indian food but found it a bit expensive compared to zam zam. The rating I gave is low because of the compact space they have got in the store, It is obviously very hard for local supermarkets to meet all the standards but apart from that always recommended to find your exclusive food.

Some of the best fresh bread I've ever had and the chicken kebab is great freshly made marinated chicken with corriander and salad cooked over a tandoor oven perfect place to get some different ingredients while you wait for your fresh breads or kebabs

Excellent! I've only been in for the bread so far but the naan is absolutely amazing, can't beat having it made right in front of you in a tandoor. I hope when it becomes more established, we can have some pide and other breads as well! 2 year update: there are indeed pide breads available, both stuffed and the plain, round breads, in addition to lahmacun and a great selection of baklava by the bakery section. It's all amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

The fresh (ie just made) Naan are amazing. He also does make to order. The fresh veg, herb and fruits are excellent and very reasonably priced. Various makes of spices also very good value. Give it a whirl you won't be disappointed.

Good store with a lot of variety of products but we were disappointed with the quality of the chicken. We bought boneless chicken thigh and whole chickens and did not enjoy them unfortunately. Coriander was kept nice and fresh but the green bullet chillies seemed old, soft and wrinkly.

Great, helpful staff, especially the butcher and the guy at the bakery (Rouad his name I guess), but the cashiers are not really so. Anyway, it is the best place to get fresh, nice meat. Some products come from Iraq, which does not make me feel comfortable as Iraq had a big amount of Uranium bombings during the war. As great as it is, you should avoid the (carcinogenic) cans and stuff from Iraq, especially products called "Safe".

Great shop! Coming from an Eastern Europe I struggled to find variety of healthy products in England supermarkets - such as buckwheat, dried legumes, chicken hearth and lamb/sheep meat. This shop has it all and for a reasonable price. Staff is very nice.

This is an astonishing find! Set up by a remarkable young entrepreneur. A truly comprehensive”Eastern Experience” All of those hard to find spices, seasonings, fruits nuts and veg are here in profusion, and at frankly amazing prices! But you’ll also encounter an amazing variety of meats, cheeses, yogurts, hummus olives and more. There’s a wonderful bakery run by a splendid master baker, and the whole setup is manned by really friendly, yet highly competent people who make a visit a truly enjoyable experience. Bravo!!

The Bakery section is a must, fresh breads and Nan breads of all description. Absolute heaven. The fresh meat section is the best in York. They also stock many other groceries. It's a one stop shop.

I asked if they had something I couldn't find but the staff member said he doesn't think they have it in but he would be more than happy to order some in for me.
