Reviews of The Arcadian
C. L. O.
It's a good place to spend the evening, with bars and pubs, restaurants (Chinese, Indian,English,Mexican,Malaysian etc)
D. V.
Cathay used to be the old name for China... therefore it's befitting that the street running through the middle of the Chinese Quarter is called Cathay St. The Arcadian is at one of its ends.
It is an iconic location that anyone visiting Birmingham, must see. I think it reflects the UK as i know and love it. All races, sexes, orientations, ages, views, etc can be seen here and it's great!
I'm really glad to see everyone out and enjoying themselves. Soo many weddings, straight, gay, queer, all types... i think we're back in business!!! I hope i don't jinx it!
All the best to the brides, grooms and guests... after 21 years, i can tell you, the secret is: silence! Keep quiet and you'll stay together. Not everything your partner says needs a response... ;)))
j. b.
Many places to eat and drink near by cinema and theatre nice and clean area and secure safe parking. There is also a safe place refuge here for people who are vulnerable great initiative and great place responsible management and owners. Highly recommended
P. U.
Awesome ☺️
Felt like Asia, colourful lively vibrant.
Had Japanese food and that too was amazing.
F. F.
There is a lot of Chinese restaurants in this area. It's a must try the food tastes amazing.
P. L.
A lively place with lots of bars and restaurants and easy access to the gay quarter. It's expensive to park with no concessions for disabled.
D.
Just popped into the Day In Chinese supermarket that is excellent superb range of ingredients and utensils for Chinese, Thai, Korean cookery. Staff are very helpful if you can't find what you're looking for. Wonderful Chinese bakery/cake shop 2 doors away too.
A. J.
I like the Arcadian centre, I visited the Glee club which is a comedy venue. The centre has a lot of places to go ot always seems lively . There are plenty of places to eat and have a drink . The car park isn't far away either.
G. U.
Packed out as usual, very nice place and well maintained, sat down for a few minutes whilst drinking my coffee, turned around my cup has disappeared lol
S. P.
A surprise visit to The Glee club mid week, acts were ok but the food order was a bit of a disaster. Guessing it just want their night for things to run smoothly.
C. W.
Visited here as part of the Chinese New Year celebrations in Birmingham. The second year we've been and it's a great day out. Wonderful and spectacular entertainment that you are unlikely to see out China. Even though it rained this year the show still went on.
M. -. T.
Nice place to find specific food / products we can't find anywhere else. easy to access.
a. c.
Parked here to go to the theatre. Plenty of space available. Recommend using the app to pay for parking to avoid big queues at the pay machines at the exit.
A. Y.
Good meeting place with a big car park, lots of eateries, few bars and a Chinese Supermarket. Just need to keep it clean more often as amount of visitors walking through every day.
D. L.
Visited on one occasion as our usual eating place had to close at short notice. Seems OK, but surroundings seem to be more important than value, can be pricey for a standard menu.
P. L.
China Town is really good people all friendly could do with more of their spirit in these uncertain times
C. L.
Lovely place just too many Chinese anybody would think it's a Chinatown what next we'll have a Kingston Town what next a Brummie town
A. B.
Cafe soya and hey sweetie are two of my favourite places in Birmingham. Cafe soya is outstanding for vegetarian and vegan options
G.
Sorry went when closed but still looks great with lots of outdoor areas being created.
M. T.
This place and the surrounding area are great. It has a relaxed vibe and some great shops and restaurants
I. S.
Huge variety of multi-national eateries and clubs in a contained section off Hurst Street, serving Hippodrome, Chinatown and gay quarter.
S. B.
Good selection of bars and restaurants here. I especially enjoy visiting Las Iguanas and the glee club.
J. M.
Good place to have a night out with a good vibe
I. F.
For clubs that link off into the Gay Quarter and restaurants that take you into Chinatown, I love Arcadian Centre. My favourite part is the part that links to Chinatown and I think it's a must for any tourist visiting Birmingham or for any clubber that's veering off Broad Street.
That its a 5 mins walk from New Street, is fantastic.
K. K. R.
The Arcadian is a located near to the Chinese quarter. It is a very busy place at night - ages between the 18 - 30 average on a night out. The club's and bars are busy around 12/1.
The down side to such a busy place is there is no active security to protect young ladies in this environment as there are no femail security and on several occasions I myself have been gropped and sexual assaulted on several occasions but nothing can be done as it is very over crowed and the young men responsible will act as of they have done nothing and you are left to feel very uncomfortable and dishearted.
It is such a shame that club owners allow this behaviour this to happen.
j. “. W.
Fab selection of eateries and bars, a good car park and a lovely oriental supermarket right on the doorstep of Chinatown and the Gay Village.
Also the Arcadian is where the Chinese moon festival takes place. Check out the dragon dancers.
A. E.
Great place to visit for Chinese food and drinks
N. D.
It was sooo good! I have been waiting a lot of time for it to reopen and I found the interior changed. Now there's a little window where you can see the chef preparing the handmade noodles and it's quite interesting. They are kind and helpful, always smiling and making sure you like the food. I'll come back again.
A. M.
Great place to hang out. Nice atmosphere... Blasting music to ensure tympani membrane are no longer an impediment in your nights out.
M. W.
Caffè di Milano lovely food great service.
Lovely decor and lighting.
I. G. D. S.
Needs more security, apart from that is a nice place to have some drinks
L. V.
Amazing place in the centre of China town, definitely a place to visit in Birmingham.
D. M.
Vibrant and well looked after. Lots of bars and Asian restaurants. Great to visit
C. W.
Nice bars and vibrant area. Cocktails were pricey but good location to our hotel
A. B.
Large variety of shops, restaurants, bars and an ibis nice place to visit before moving onto clubs etc
L. B.
Used the parking here not cheap but very close to the restaurants in walking distance.
E. T.
Lovely place, Nice food, nice atmosphere, I'd definitely go again.
S. L.
Very good parking for the centre of Birmingham, and the charges are very reasonable
S. J.
Chinese New Years celebrations. Good atmosphere and nice entertainments.
R. S.
Parking is difficult but it's got a nice vibe.
Good place to take someone on a date
a. f.
The arcadian center a very nice place in the heart of the China Town with a lotof Chinese restaurant, popular place.
Z. X.
Very quiet, no longer has the vibe it used to have before. It was a great place to be at.
j. P.
Great position , great hotel, would not hesitate to book again I'm impressed. John
C. S.
Nice enough, even in the rain. Quite a few businesses survived lockdown, meaning a nice mix, mainly food.
Making the Arcadian a MIX 'n' PICK.
C. M.
Helped my son move in to this modern bright spacious apartment. Great location - close to shops & train station. Shame about mould on the wall in a corner of the kitchen, looked like old water damage from flat above.
C. O.
It's a lively and good place but needs a bit of a spruce up with paint / jet washing.
院.
It's alright but needs fixes such as the metal stairs and fountain and other areas of the arcadian too.
S. G.
Extremely clean and spacious. Friendly staff and overall, a great experience with lots of machines, ropes and dumbbells! 5/5
B. K.
Never went into the actual centre itself due to social distance moves but did visit the Dragon inn pub
P. B.
My family took me here for my birthday.
Cinema was closed due to power loss.
Other shops were open.
W. W.
If you want to eat and buy Chinese food, you can buy it in this Chinatown in Birmingham.
M. M.
First time we have been here, had a lovely lunch, will definitely be going back.
S. P.
Pleasant place for a drink and a party with fancy restaurants and bars in the Chinese quarter.
K. O.
Only went the Glee Club. Good night which was well organised by the club at 65% capacity and table service. Good to be back out to live events again
K. H.
If we are in B'ham, we normally will visit Caffè Chino for our boba drinks and a cake!! Excellent service and food. Is cash only though!!
T. M.
Too noisy for me I'm afraid and I'll stick to European food in the future.
S. C.
The car park was big enough, and at a convenient location.
M. M.
Lovely restaurants and clubs around 👌
Great music and atmosphere
G. E.
Great place, fab for food and shopping.
R. K.
Nice place to visit, plenty of restaurants and bars to go to before going to watch a show in hippodrome theatre in the corner 👍🏼
b. c.
Handy place for parking when going for food or theatre in birmingham
K. A.
Lovely place very lively great for something to eat
s. u.
Always a great atmosphere , restaurants and outdoor drinking ...
K. D.
Lovely area of Birmingham plenty places to eat and have a drink
K. T.
Bit hit and miss but some nice places at times
A. D.
For a special time out with some special its the place to be,.. and to give you a prolonged taste of that time bring home a Japanese cheese cake.
Y. L.
the price is better than London and I found something I like but in London's Chinese supermarket.
M. N.
Home to some of my favourite shops in all of brum! It's amazing
R. H.
The Arcadian is an open courtyard 'shopping centre', though its mostly eating establishments with a good choice of international cuisines to choose from. It has a car park attached and is right by Chinatown and the Hippodrome so is a handy base for a trip to Birmingham.
S. G.
My visit to Las Iguanas Birmingham food was good drinks were amazing
O. (. G.
Toppoki restaurant, very nice Korean food
T. B.
Good shopping centre can get busy
B.
Went out to the lounge bar for a few drinks with some friends in the evening. Very spacious inside. The staff so friendly. Very busy. They have outside seating which is lovely. They even have a Chinese takeaway restaurant inside the Arcadian centre. They also have other bars and restaurants there. Management was so good , service is fast and attentive.
J. C.
Theatre parking very convenient, won't need to use if congestion charge goes in as w/o t be visitin theatre anymore x
J. E.
At the dragon spoons. Top quality. Then to santorinis love the place.
C. F.
Lovely place
K. B.
Good place to eat, drink and dance
S. r.
Nice friendly area of if town.
M. U.
Nice place night life looks fun
M. S.
just walked path ,felt nice place
S. U.
Amazing night life always entertaining
M. S.
On a Friday night, it is the best place you want to be!
A. W.
Lovely old world shopping area that is mostly missed by visitor's to Manchester. Only a 5 minute walk from the Arndale centre.
J. E.
Electric charging in car park , very happy
J. R.
There was alot of people cleaning and doing painting. But none of the good traditional Chinese cafes was open due to covid
P. C.
Some Great restaurants and shops here
Accessible with wheelchair
R. P.
I can't comment on the Arcadian Centre much because most of the restaurants are closed during the lockdown. The car park is very expensive, costing over £3 for one hour. The car park also uses an ANPR system which is not 100% accurate and often gets the numberplate wrong. The centre is very close to the indoor market and Bullring.
D.
Road work everywhere but once got these was all good 😊
S. H.
Lots of venues still not fully open, but had a authentic Chinese meal at Peach Garden.
G. L.
It is a bueatiful place...its like traveling to another country. The shops are all cultural which allows you to buy east Asian products. Nothing bad about it.
Z. S.
A very pleasant relaxed experience within the complex. Great selection of many different styles of restaurant here, so there should be plenty of choice for all tastes. The complex is a couple of split levels which during the summer and the evenings is great place to hang out with friends and enjoying the evening. Great selection of restaurants and bars with a great atmosphere. Have been coming here for many years.
N. M.
Another place that holds its unique gems, but has been destroyed by covid - once it's over be sure to check it out , they've adjusted some of the lounging areas and you can find great food
M. C.
Good selection of restaurants. Not much else tbh
M. S.
Great Chinese restaurant 😋
J. L.
Very lively good night out
R. M.
Great food, great staff, great atmosphere, at miyako teppenyaki its everybody's birthday!
R. A.
They've pretty much done nothing with this place in 10 years and it's feeling a bit worn. A number of vacant units around the edge too. Otherwise it's a good spot to grab a few drinks on a night out. Recommendation: the car parking prices are outrageous, find parking nearby for half the price.
s. m.
Great place for meeting up
S. P. C.
Had a lovely time at Chinese New year celebrations. Walked round, looked at displays, talked to people, picked up info. Didn't stop to eat as it was raining. Bought a few delicacies in supermarket. Lychee drink, fortune cookies, tamarind, sweet potato snacks. Took them to square peg to share with Irish friends. One guy ate the whole cookie including message. We had a good laugh. Then I took the snacks to a group who all enjoyed celebrating Chinese New year. I also took the development plans for the area around with me. A few hours in the area produced snacks and info for many
g. g.
We attended the glee club for a comedy night it was fantastic.
I will say that if you do go to one of these you can order and eat at the venue.
The food looked absolutely lovely and smelt very nice.
Value for money.
3 different flavours of popcorn.
And proper pork scratching.
Will recommend and go again.
T. O.
I think I would have liked it more if I had eaten in, but I had a take away and the staff was really nice
T. s.
I went to iguanas for a light bite a drinks.. Was very quiet but all the same had an enjoyable time.
J. J.
Divided foods culture, do enjoy it!
S. V. B.
Very nice place to be. General fun you can expect
D. S.
This would be a lovely place to sit and relax ,but from mid afternoon onwards the peace is ruined,by a mish mash of overly loud music blaring from different Bars
P. B.
Shoos still open providing a little buzz but just can't wait for the restaurants and bars to breath some life back into the area!
R. R.
One of the more scenic and beautiful areas of Birmingham, great bars and restaurants and supermarkets.
s. r.
I used to go 20 years ago. Still a good atmosphere. Looks a bit work down and inside and surrounding area could no with a power wash. Few tramps asking for money. 6 drinks in one bar £23 so not bad. A o.k experience.
S. F.
Went to Italian restaurant which wa lovely.
T. B.
Great place for a weekend night out
R. I.
There's a handmade noodles place here and it's SO delicious. Great broth, great noodles, great meat
S. G. 2.
Just wish the cinema was still there!
A.
I go there for the restaurants and Chinese shops rather than for bars
J. B.
Great fun had by all
T. M.
We were visiting the Arcadian for the first time and it turned out to be a pretty nice place. I can only speak on the Tepanyaki Japanese restaurant where we ate. This was honestly my highlight of the evening. The restaurant treated us to an interesting show whereby the chef prepares your meal incorporating some acrobatic performances in between. This is a good break from old school dining because the chef will even engage you to participate in the preparation of your meal. Needless to say the food was really good and we ate with a smile on our faces.
The rest of the place looked quite alive with a couple of clubs that had loud music playing. It was a bee hive of activities in the evening with people sitting in groups chatting and smoking.
If you cannot sand cigarette smoke, please stay away! The place is one big smoking zone and you will most probably encounter couples making out or people weirdly running around. Maybe it's just me but I felt like there should have been more order/security here.
J. F.
We read the reviews before we went and you really can dine, dance, watch a film and more.
If you are into Chinatown areas then you will enjoy it here.
We got to the restaurants early in the evenings and we found the places quite busy and crowded when we left.
If you like to be entertained whilst dining we found Miyako Teppanyaki restaurant ideal.
Our weekend was not long enough.
We had a great time and it kicked off the start for our holiday to Turkey.
P. P.
My wife and I love this place. There's so many culinary delights awaiting and not only Chinese. In addition to the restaurants, there are Asian stores too, which we tend to use to buy authentic ingredients for home cooking. The only down side to that is the washing up. We are regular visitors and will remain so, always attending the Chinese celebrations that take place, usually in the centre.
D. G.
The arcadian is a leisure center in the Chinese neighborhood right in the city center. There are a few cafés and restaurants.
D. L.
Good selection of Chinese shops
N. I.
Great place to eat and chill with family and friends x
J. J.
I love this area. Lots of great Asian options.
R. N.
Nice place for family day out with a wide variety of restaurants. Many nice cultural events happening here as well!
S. P.
I visited on NYE, it was an Amazing evening with some brilliant comedians! The venue is very cramped and you will be practically sat on the person next to you... But other than that - its a great evening and place to go!
L. D.
Safe but limited spaces.
D. V.
You can't go to Birmingham city centre and not try/visit this place. The ultimate in Chinese cafes. What an experience!!! Why go abroad when it's all here! The whole family loved it... we didn't have a clue what we were eating or drinking but it was amazing and cheap!
A. L.
Rip off for parking in the structure there so I recommend using the open car parks around the area, there are loads a very short walk away and they are much cheaper, however most need cash for pay and display! The arcadian overall is fab, great for food before a show or just if you're hungry; there's plenty to choose from. Also if you like east Asian stores and cafes then there are plenty here that are cheap and just down right delightful, grab a bubble tea and a piece of cake from the variety of little tea shops and stores :)
L. J.
It's a shame Covid-19 as taken effect. We attended for food under the Government "eat out to help out" but unfortunately many restaurants we're closed down temporarily and many more closed permanently.
I can't comment on nightlife on the weekends as we attended midweek (Wednesday).
Hopefully places like this can succeed in the long run. 🙏🏼🤞🏼🙌🏼
C.
It is a good place to be! It's fun, check it out!
J. L.
Lots of asian restaurants and night club options. Upmarket.
S. A.
Still an awesome place
D.
Really good place to find Chinese food. I've been going there quite often for the past 3 years. 'De Zhou' is the best noodle place I've been to in Birmingham and 'Sum Ye' has a very nice lunch deal menu.
D. V.
Looking a little tired now. Very quite in the week and packed on the weekend.
2 for 1 cocktails in most places early evenings. Handy parking on site. Mainly Asian cuisine on offer, it is China Town after all.
J. G.
Great place to grab a drink and some food during the day. The Glee club is one of the best comedy clubs in the UK and if you like bar hopping on a night out but hate walking a long way, this is the perfect night out for you
S. L.
Good party atmosphere plenty of security to make u feel secure Olivias townhouse is the place to be if you like a trendy up market kind of place
Plus the doormen with the beard (white guy ) is friendly and makes you feel welcome
g. H.
One of the very nice places to look at in Birmingham and to do shopping apps
C. F.
Gr8 for restaurants and a night out.
J. S.
Good for short stay parking big space on lower floor that everyone seems to miss. It even says well done you made it on the sign entering lower level. Normally always spaces down there. Close to bull ring and city centre but don't have to drive right in to city. Not cheap but he'll of a lot cheaper than bull ring and other city centre mulitistorty car parks.
D. H.
Great place to spend an evening out. Loads to do and see. Great selection of places to eat to suit all tastes. Very very hot on security and peoples safety. You always feel very safe .
B. B. K. C.
It's ok, busy, slowly looking dated
A. F.
Ok if you like shopping
S. S. K.
Great choice of restaurants and bars. We tend to go at the weekends in the day, but there is something for everybody here. In the heart of china town it has a number of SE Asian restaurants as well as Italian, S. American and others. Parking is over priced, but convenient. We tend to park outside of the centre and walk down.
j. h.
Brilliant atmosphere as always 👏
G. W.
Convenient shopping area I central Birmingham adjacent to Chinese Quarter. There are some excellent Chinese food markets in this area as well as other interesting shops and restaurants. Parking is local and easily accessed. This area also contains the famous Birmingham Hypodrome. Well worth a visit for the family. A good central base for a day of shopping in the Bull Ring markets.
D. E.
Lovely complex. Some great restaurants and shops. The basement level has no lift to ground floor. All exits were stairs only. We had to push our prams up the car ramp. Hence the loss of stars
J. C.
Don't forget the clean air charges
S. B.
Lovely spot just in Ch na town lits of great bars and restaurants my favourite is cafe soya. This place is busy night and day Wetherspoons, 241 cocktails at Las Iguanas the glee club plenty of music at night enough to keep you busy all night to save the taxi or walk to broad Street no entry fees for the bars either. The pub by the Glee club is well worth a visit too
J. B.
Always a pleasure to go out in this sector.
M. A.
Great place for all kind of meetings! Good for business meeting at day time. Very nice for night life. Amzaing for weekends and Saturday nights. All kind of foods almost available. Many types of restaurants. Great place for entertainment. Highly recomended.
D. M.
Another great show, definitely seem to be becoming a regular
C. E.
Upmarket and trendy.
It's easy to get to and has quite a few eateries/bars that attract a trendy crowd.
There is also the Glee Club and a Wetherspoon pub so you see a good mix of people and the place is always busy.
Parking is ultra convenient but is a bit pricey and there can be massive queues of people waiting to pay for parking immediately following the end of a production at the Hippodrome or kicking-out time at the Glee Club.
L. R.
Great parked there for travelodge
K. C.
Really enjoyed it here there were plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, very nicely decorated and very pleasant people here.
S. J.
Nice little collection of restaurants and bars, would definitely recommend Shogun Tepenyaki live cooking dinner show and the Glee club comedy venue (book in advance).
L. B.
I went to the glee club and it was amazing. To add to the night, before the show outside in the cold was an absolutely great singer performing over the whole of the arcadian from the balcony.
r. c.
The night life is good here a nice mixture of bars and clubs with different types of music and in the day most places are open and serve food the couple of places I have tried have not been to bad or expensive and it has parking so you don't have to park far to get here.
A. T.
Nice area for food and drinks.
B.
I use the Arcadian car parking facilities on a daily basis purchasing the 28 day ticket at £60 which averages out to £2.15/ day. If purchasing day tickets then it is not the cheapest depending on the number of hours parked. The car park is patrolled and has CCTV cameras with good lighting; and very secure.
Z. K.
Nice place where you can dine in style.
M. L.
Carpark underneath shop, good access to Chinatown.
Parking via camera do no tickets required, just pay at the machine before you leave
C. C.
Not the most expensive car park in Birmingham city centre, but its quite pricey. Good sized spaces. The new payment method seems to baffle most people though it's very easy, as long as you know your vehicle's registration number.
O. (.
Loads of fun, lots of tickets and friendly staff
D. T.
We were there in the evening and found the young men quite aggressive in trying to get you to go to their club. One marched us through the area to make sure we went to where he wanted.
When we went into a club in the Arcadian, it wasn't anything special.
G. M.
A little bit of Chinatown, nice and close to the Hippodrome. Personally love the Day Inn Chinese supermarket, Cafe Chino and their lovely cakes, and the new Sum Ye offers great food highly recommened by Jay Rayner! Just a shame that Le Truc is now closed 😞
G. L.
Nice place with a variety of Asian foods
h. m.
On the lower level there's a heady mix of loud bars for the young and trendy to stare at each other disdainfully. On the upper level there's restaurants and a comedy club. Intermittently, people who aren't used to being out on an evening surge out of the Hippodrome and wander around awkwardly, flooding bars in an effort to squeeze the dregs out of a night without the kids.
Z. C. P. a. T.
A safe place to stay, concierge/security at the front desk. Nice and quite family place with parking.
N. J.
Nice night. Diverse bars and restaurants to visit
D. B.
Great old fashioned hardware store. Friendly and helpful staff. A really expansive range of merchandise. Everything you need for any DIY job.
T. F.
Great Brummy landmark, decent pubs an resturants.
D. C.
Very loud
H. W.
Bit run down from what it was. Needs a refresh, there is a well stocked Chinese supermarket on Cathay Street and excellent cafe Chino for tasty bubble teas, slushy and cakes if your peckish.
j. m.
Nice variety of cuisine in China town...surprisingly not just Asian. There's a fav Las Iguanas there as well. For that taste of Latin America and 2 for one cocktails all day 😏
A. O.
Always a fabulous night out! A variety of night clubs for people to attend. Marvelous restaurants. One of my favourite places to visit in Birmingham city centre.
D. S.
Always a good experience always something new unexpected happens on that road great atmosphere and great food & drinks defenetly one of those places where you have to go to relax and enjoy yourself.
💯
C. T.
Great cafe style Chinese food outlets, a Chinese bakery with the best macarons and a Chinese supermarket all under one roof. Oh then there's the bars and other eateries so something for everyone.
N. T.
Great for slightly less hectic nightlife. We went for drinks after seeing a show, had cocktails in one of the bars , really enjoyed being here.
K.
Lovely place to hang out especially in the summer as there is plenty of seating outside. The arcadian is located right next to China town and hosts a number of venues such as; Sobar, Individual bar, Zorbas etc the best bars/restaurants are Las Iguanas and Missoula.

It's okay.
Even on a busy night the only busy club is Indi Bar.
There are some decent places for food and okay Chinese restaurant.
For food I recommend either Meating (steak) or Missoula (cheap pub food).
r. k.
Small group of bars near China town. The comedy club is close by which is highly recommended but it's tickets only so you will have to book in advanced
d. l.
always been a fan of the arcadian just wish they kept the cinema me an my family always went before drinks an food
J. H.
This is the first time I've used the Arcadian. Cheaper than Bullring parking and easier to get into. Payment is on exit, using ANPR, so that there are no tickets to worry about. Just go to the machine near the exit, punch in your reg number and pay. Could not be easier. I'll use it again.
M. E.
Lights up
K. W.
Can get a bit rowdy with the amount of people here during the evenings
S. W. (.
Good selection of places to eat and drink. Very trendy. Gets busy at weekends, but is a nice change from Broad Street and the Bullring.
l. d.
Nice area, with a great selection of restaurants and bars. Great places to catch a bite before a show at The Glee club.
M. M.
Concert at the glee club. Once inside the venue it was great 👍, however getting to the venue was a nightmare. Traffic was choc a block, and had trouble parking as it was soooooo busy (German Xmas market was to blame).
s. d.
Home from home.
I just love this place. Very clean. Nice staff. Comfortable rooms. Balconys. Close to shops and market. Can't fault the place. It's somewhere lovely to relax or if you are going to party.
d. C.
This is a great place to visit. Bars, restaurants and shopping. Good value for money, lovely staff. A great environment day and night.
B. B.
Good parking at good price and very close to some of the Chinese shops where I regularly make large purchases and it's nice and convenient to only have a very short walk back to the car and then a short walk into the rest of Birmingham City Centre.
A. A.
Not a roudy as broad Street but still has its better times. Could do with more than one cash machine on nights out which generates quite a queue. Good for food if you like asian., expensive tapenyaki to small time Asian cafes. A good place to be for access to all of Birmingham.
T. s.
Lovely little arcade very pretty
A. T.
A welcome break from the insanity of Broad Street! Can be busy on the weekends, but it's got great food and bars, decent parking, it's next door to the gay quarter and it's even got an awesome comedy club!
N. B.
The arcadian is good and pubs and bars are a little more upmarket then others in town ...be warned about the acadian car park if you use the car wash there make sure you pay to park also otherwise you get a fine of £100 no getting out of it
J. D.
You don't go to Broad Street when you know brum, start here then head down to digbeth or vice versa
T. W.
Very lively good mix of bars and food also the comedy club and theatre nearby right on the edge of the Chinese Quarter if your in Brum visit
S. H.
Once the home of very random businesses, this Chinese Quarter area now offers food and drink from all over the world, there is even a Chinese supermarket.
M. C.
Great night out.
S. M.
Full different venues an flavours of food
M. M.
Couldn't get into indi bar went to one opposite more males then females music RnB, charts and dance very good night nice vibe and no trouble £3 entrance
D. J.
Great if you're still in your 20's and on the pull. Parking on site too. Just don't drink and drive kids!
R. T.
Very lively atmosphere with a great selection of bars and restaurants around the outside ring. Short walk from the train station and to plenty of other bars.
P. M.
Easy parking with plenty of spaces. Not too expensive compared to others. Perfect for the Glee club with plenty of eating outlets .
S. J.
Great place for night clubbing and eating out. Good variety of restaurants and night clubs
T. L.
So far I have only used the dragon's in which is a Wetherspoons and Las Iguanas. I will be back again this weekend to sample a few of the clubs that the arcadian has to offer and once I have done that I will then adjust my rating based on the whole place.
I. B.
We visit to our daughter (grace) lived in at Arcadian accommodation Arcadian centre Birmingham , went to at Birmingham university.
F. A.
Nice place to visit,
L. C.
Last time i was here the cinema was open that's how long it's been, hasn't changed much just more Chinese shop's, well it's in the Chinese/ Gay quarter
J. C.
Really do love this place. The bars, restaurants and location all good
P. H.
Lovely day, great cocktails, food was delicious but wait was far too long! About 25 mins, for burgers!
O. S.
Great place for all your Asian needs, parking is a bit expensive though
M. f.
It was gay pride that we attended near here we go every year if you have never been to this event it's a must as people are lively loads of music plenty of drink available plus the lovely smells of food all around
I. W.
Visited on of the restaurants. The area is under a lot of redevelopment but is still a major eating and entertainment area close to city centre, theatres and train connections.
K. B.
Wetherspoons, Chinese and Vietnamese are good. Try Min Min opposite the carpark entrance for those rolls made of soft rice paper. Good asian supermarkets. Clubs are too loud and overpriced
J. W.
I thoroughly enjoyed my back, neck and shoulders massage along with an indian head massage I felt so relaxed and will definitely be booking again at Acocks Green
Thank you so much
Judy Williams

I've always liked the Arcadian, although I never really visit anymore, I still like the circular layout. I don't think there are interesting shops like their used to be though.
V. M.
Filled with restaurants mainly catering for the chinese customer. There's a fancy water fountain feature in the middle of the square.
U. A.
Great food and drinks you can choose as you would like it,nice place to go with friends, most crowded at weekends.
K. B.
I visited the #Birmingham back to backs in Inge Street next to the Birmingham Hippodrome and opposite The Arcadian Centre last week and was taken on a tour of these historic Birmingham slums as they were back in the day by a lovely guide John who had lived in back to back housing in the Birmingham suburb of Duddeston. The back to backs are owned and run by the National Trust and have been meticulously restored to represent how conditions were in these houses in 1840....1870...1930 ...&
1970....There are four back to back houses arranged around a central courtyard with a brew house and 3 toilets shared by over 300 people who lived in these houses. Both my parents Les Bracey and Dorothy Merriman lived in Birmingham back to backs with Dad living in a court in Little Shadwell Street in the Birmingham Gun Quarter opposite the Gunmakers Arms where Dad drank his wages away working for for Brummie Gunsmith carrying the sporting guns to the Birmingham Gun Proof House in nearby Digbeth. My Mom Dot Merriman lived in back to backs in Dugdale Street off Dudley Road in Winson Green near the bottom of Cape Hill before the Merriman family bettered themselves by buying a house in Bearwood in nearby Smethwick
A. K.
The best place for party in Birmingham:)

This is one of the more think finding places that all is within walking distance for entertainment go for it! You can be entertained on the night.!

It was okay. Quiet because it was early evening but okay. The cocktail was a bit rubbish and the server was moody but we had a nice time in there.
M. H.
Really peaceful on normal days, great selection of Asian restaurants from Chinese, Japanese to indian cuisines and really festive during Chinese New Year and Moon Festival days

S. W. (.
Good selection of places to eat and drink. Very trendy. Gets busy at weekends, but is a nice change from Broad Street and the Bullring.

Some good authentic (east) Asian eateries but the bars are very average and mainstream and there's little sense that this is meant to be China town.
