C. R.Beautiful place and scenery. Nice place to go out on a sunny day. Lots of places to see. Plenty of places to eat. Cinemas and other activities are just 5 minutes walking distance away.
During busy hours, parking could be a challenge. But a great place for family with children to enjoy a day out.
J. C. #.Lovely old historical docks, that has kept some nice historical architecture features.
Do read up on the history, and at the old photos of the docks in its hay day , plus the sad times of the state of it all when everything closed, before it all got regenerated and reborn in to a new life.
At night it's truly gorgeous.
Plenty of options to eat and drink from every corner of the world.
Don't miss out on a walk all around the harbour , it definitely worth it, plus the added bonus of some good fresh sea air.
C. H.I visited a good few years ago and wanted to see how things had progressed.... far more restaurants but not at all busy to be expected in a cold February. A lot of work being carried out on paving, etc....maybe Co e back in the summer
M. K.One of the largest water fronts in Europe. Very spacious and well laid out.
Plenty of restaurants and shops to keep you occupied and entertained. Worth the visit and you can take a boat ride ftom Bute Park or vice versa.
R. A.It was rainy outside but warm and friendly inside. Great for a date night or family meal. We enjoyed it all, and the cocktails were outstanding. It would be stunning sitting on their patio on a sunny day.

P. G.Awesome place, localish for me. Sadly it's a 5 star place with 2 star people at the weekends. Also everything shuts so early, I could image how this would function in a EU city as oppose to UK slam all the food and as much drink as poss into you withing 3hrs!
There are some gems down here though, certainly worth going to explore. Be it the fayre, big wheel, Everyman Cinema, great choice of food, boat rides, cocktail bars and historical buildings, statutes and info. It's also surprisingly clean.

a. j.So very busy! Who had the bright idea of going to Mermaid Quay on a bank holiday! As I take responsibility for that, I can say that I absolutely love the area. Bustling and fun. Lots of good quality eateries and gift shops. A great place to visit, there's always something going on!
A. S.A beautifully quiet part of Cardiff to walk around but with shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. Plenty of interesting buildings and a must for fans of Torchwood with Ianto's Shrine and Torchwood Hub.
H.I have to get around on a mobility buggy because I am disabled, so sat outside as it was a lovely evening. There wasn't much of a view from where I was sitting, but my waitress came out to serve me, and was very pleasant and helpful. The menu was good, and my garlic prawns with crusty bread really hit the spot!
I don't know about inside, but the service was very quick.
S. H.I was very impressed with this place. They had tea for me which as a vegan was quite difficult to get in Wales as not many places seem to do milk alternatives. As ever I can only talk about my experience. They also had a vegan choice of food which was toasted tea cakes with Flora margarine. I really don't understand why there is not a vegan alternative to margarine or butter when it is so easy to do.

P. H.Lovely walk around the Bay. Some ground work going on so be careful! Paving removed and fences up, but we were lucky with the weather so enjoyed it anyway. Had lunch upstairs at Bellinis (now joined up with Italian restaurant next door). We were able to sit outside on the terrace. Four of us in our group. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and have already made plans to do this again next month (weather permitting).

B. H.Out of season, but still fairly busy. The little play park is perfect for toddlers with a nautical theme. A lot of work being done presumably ready for the heavy business in the summer months to come. Its a nice spot and even in dreary weather a pleasant walk.

J.Always clean, friendly and open. Plenty of places to eat and relax. Open water to look out over and enjoy the views. Plenty of activity’s as well, open space to walk around and connections for water rides.
L.Love this area! Filled with great places to eat, have a drink or just go for a good stroll. If you are a tourist or a local it's always a pleasant place to be. You can also find bikes to rent by use of a simple app all around the area which is a great activity to do if the weather allows it.
R. D.Easy parking, and public transport, you can even get a water taxi back into Cardiff, great range of good and drink available, interesting history and walks. There must be something for everyone here.

P. E.It is a busy car park, but always a space as cars come and go very frequently. Spaces are a little tight, but not a disaster. Good idea to be ticketless and psychology when you leave via your reg number.
D. D.Lovely place, I spotted a great white shark in the water but some aggressive woman and man was rudely shouting at me telling me it was a mullet, as if I was wrong? I’m not stupid a mullet is hair cut not a fish. Silly people
K. B.An enjoyable visit to this area with interesting shops, cafes, restaurants and places to see such as the Norwegian church and government buildings. You can take various boat rides too.
j. s.A bit of building and pavement renovation going on. It's a standard format with big chain restaurants and cinema. Get a small ferry boat from here into Cardiff Bute Park. That was a highlight. Can also walk around the Barrage to Penarth. Lots of history if you want to search it out.

A. M.Very good but a lot of work going on laying new paving. Rather a poor quality rushed job. Some uneven pavers and unequal gapping. I can't see it lasting long due to the amount of footfall in the coming months.

a. p.On a wet Wednesday evening the Quay was thronged with people & Restaurants were pretty full including Pizza Express where we dined for a pre theatre meal.

L. H.Very quiet when we visited on a warm but grey morning. Lovely to walk around or grab a drink and food and sit looking out across the water. Lots of different gulls, cormorants, ducks and friendly sparrows and if you look into the water you might get to see mullet feeding. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Cardiff.

S. M.Marmaid quay is the finest place in Cardiff to visit with family and friends. It has really nice view of waterfront. You can enjoy a whole day walking around and going to many good restaurants. Having visited the area regularly over the years I have to say it has developed superbly well into what it is now, a lovely place to relax, eat and drink.
There are many different eateries both chain and independents.
The daytime view is very pleasant but in the evening darkness it truly comes alive .
E. F.Beautiful scenery. They also provide some information about uts aqua lives. Sadly, there were so many rubbish around the shore. People need to be more mindful about their rubbish.

M. B.Loads of good restaurants and entertainment with boat rides around the bay and the water taxi that goes to the centre of Cardiff all directly from the Quay. Free parking can be difficult, so either leave lots of time or look for a pay carpark that there are nearby.

However there are no Public toilet facilities unless you trapse halfway down the barrage, which is not always convenient when desperate or have children/ disabled people with you. Wouldn't rush to go back there under current circumstances.

H. D.Mermaid Quay is a parade of shops, restaurants, a comedy club and a cinema located in Cardiff Bay. It can be busy and lively when the weather's good; so you might want to pick when you visit. There are plenty of things to see in the area; and it's useful to have these eateries here. A numner of the restaurants are chains; but there are some good independents too. There are even a couple of small supermarkets here.

M. D.Sadly lacking in places to sit, I was able to get a coffee in Gregg's, but due to lack of seating had to walk around with coffee. I know keeping distance is important, but seating is essential. Thankfully there was very little litter. Last year I visited, midday, every bin and seating area was overflowing with litter.

J. M.Wonderful place. I love the sights and sounds. Wonderful. Amazing how much stuff is down there. From the cardiff at the beach to the huge amount amount other things that go around the year. We'll worth looking at the water tours and the barrage as well (minutes away). I live this place and love seeing everything about it. I love the amount of bars and restaurants too. A shrine to a fictional character is there (from torchwood/dr who). Go and see it!!! Have a little look out for the lego builds around there too. Also the place to go for the millennium centre. Everything in a small area. A great place for a day out.

This whole boardwalk area took us back to visiting Monterrey in N.
America and the vibe was wonderful.
We hired nextbikes, stopped for a drop of fizz before departing on an aqua bus to Bute Park.
Loved Cardiff, we will be back.

D. M.Mermaid Quay received lots of development in the decade prior, turning it into a relatively pleasant evening out. In recent years, the Quay has received little attention, beyond the closure of some chain restaurants and the opening of others in their place.
C. F.So much choice in restaurants at night. During the day there are boat trips and there were rides and attractions there. Well worth a visit.

M. R.Full of atmosphere when the weather's fine. Good place just to walk about. Regenerated docklands now modern waterfront tourist attraction with glimpses of old architecture and features. Plenty for all ages to see and do. Fantastic performing arts at the Millenium Centre, Techniquest, bars, cafes, restaurants, galleries and boat trips around the bay or up the river Taf into the city centre. Plenty of parking.

B. *.Premier tourism centre and capital cities enterprise centre. The Welsh government is based in the bay and has been built in the most sophisticated designs, using local sustainable materials. The area has an amazing range of restaurants and bars.
