Reviews of Waterdale Shopping Centre
There's a huge amount of regeneration happening at the moment. Tired looking precinct but in time this little area will be buzzing again. Cupcakes 2 Love is our favourite business for delicious cake and coffee. Can't wait to see what the council have in store and the multi storey car park, right on the doorstep will be a great feature going forward.
I think waterdale shopping centre is a great place but I think they need to do something about those ones who keeps bringing there dogs into the waterdale shopping centre and stop bakes and scooters coming into the shopping centre too and to bar teenagers from the franchgate centre who keep bullying others who have disabilities.
Enjoyed my first visit to waterdale shopping centre.
Visited every phone shop available
Always worth a look, even better with security getting on top of the drug situation, but still need to keep an eye open for the stragglers.
Enjoyed the shops but went in cex..was gobsmacked at £645 pounds for a 2nd hand ps5 with no box or game. Bit other shoos were great.
Shops are always busy and lack of parking isn't very good be careful where you park as there is loads off traffic warden's
The centre is in the process of being refurbished and work seems to have ground to a halt. It all looks quite sad.
The shops and café that are still open are fine but sadly the shopping centre as whole is I think being hit by online shopping. The council does not seem to be able to encourage businesses to open the vacant spaces.
In waterstone's having the best costa coffee ever just the perfect place for a pit stop
Quite desolate place at the moment due to demolition of several old buildings. Many businesses are redundant but the ones open, mainly cafes are a nice quiet place to sit and eat.
Some good shops in there like apple FX if you need your computer fixing and greggs but that’s about it, it’s sadly not what it used to be
Nice shops
Friendly atmosphere
Corporation taps brewery was a little secret place tucked away with decent beer, and a beer garden , just needs someone to paint a mural on the carpark wall to make it brighter lovely staff, decent bratwurst but will be popping back
Made me realise how important it is to keep the high street shopping experience alive... Far more enjoyment when you can browse, see & touch things physically, etc - instead of just click n pay online, which is convenient but also can be quite a sterile experience.
Doncaster Frenchgate is a modern Mall located in the heart of the city of Doncaster South Yorkshire. It boasts of Eateries, Departmental stores, clothing and jewellery shops, toy shops, an arcade hall and post office. A visit to Doncaster will be incomplete without a stop at Frenchgate. It is also connected to the bus interchange and train station.
A few decent shops and a nice cafe
It is a lovely place but is it let down by all the people doing spice in the area and the constant begging if this was sorted it would be a lovely place
Lovely place for shopping and eating.
Very friendly and helpful people.
Lots of shops and something for everyone Staff very helpful and polite and friendly would highly recommend
I use the shopping centre almost every day and find it clean and friendly. There are a few folk using it for begging but I do not find them intimidating but then again I am an adult male. There are not that many shops but those that are open are friendly and accommodating.
Nothing yhere but enjoyed the walk through very quiet needs more attractions
Go on Tuesday, Friday or Saturday. That's when most of the stalls are open for some amazing food.
Some good butchers there too, most of the week.
Hard to say. Visited the place on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Everywhere was shut, except for a couple of budget stores. Im sure the place has seen livelier days before the virus.
A desolate area frequented by annoying skateboarders and homeless guys in empty doorways.
Lovely shopping centre. Visited the craft emporium at the far end. Lovely little craft stalls well worth a visit.
They could do with notices on the front of the lifts that there for prams wheelchair and elderly, not for lazy people!.
Waterfall Centre has seen better days before the Job Centre closed as it switched ends. The Southern Bus Station followed about ten years later. The run down was a collapse as Frenchgate and Interchange become all the rage and the old college closed within 2 years. The new Cultural Centre which opened about 5 years ago has started to turn the tide as a mini centre has now opened.
unlike Meadow Hall you would not go there just for the Mall, however it is pleased with nice shops and cafes, but the proximity to the very close by Market area makes a trip worth while
Some may say & view this part of Donny a zombie, dead zone. However having volunteered at the British Heart Foundation (furniture & electrical) store for nearly 3 years when it was located opposite the refurnish store. I have had many valuable & unique experiences & understood how charities work as a business. Whilst endevouring to assist both customers & good causes.
This has led me to conclude that footfall will increase with more ground level nearby carparking, which has occurred very recently. This will also encourage an optimist to open a shop unit as the rents are cheap and potential customers will have more disposable money as Cast, & yet to be built Cinema & museum, shall give vibrancy (The Former Grammar school) - where my mother & I have both gained qualifications holds a significant keystone location for non local visitors & shoppers.
Very open spaces in needof more outlets of major store's with most council offices close by needs promotion as a pathway to and from ,when needing advice. Only down fall is public convinces as DONCASTER as a city has the least amount of toilet's per capita of the U.K.
A good variety of shops
The Waterdale is an up and coming place to visit with a variety of specialised shops and cafes. There are still shops which are closed and boarded up, but new business are opening encouraging this to be a vibrant place to visit.
Very clean, good mixture of shops
A small parade of different shops slowly coming back to life with small independent shops & cafes that will only survive if the local people support them.
There is an Iceland, a small Greggs, some cafes, a gaming shop, baby clothes store, vintage shop, a furniture shop with lots of bling and a very nice 40's styled restaurant called 'Taste.'
There are still empty shops but the area has been cleaned up a bit.
As regards to the drunks & beggars, it was no worse than any other parts of Doncaster.
Go and support the local traders trying to restore the area.
not as i remember it as it.s gone down hill
It's ok
Shopping centre it is what it is and what you make it.Plenty of shops clean and tidy
what more do you want.
Open air shopping centre close to major office for DMBC with easy access to central library and centre of shops that lead to town. Underground car parking. The new theatre complex is within walking distance.
Walked into bake rattle and roll cafe never seen seen it before was amazed can't wait for my next visit 🙂
It is not a huge shopping centre like Meadow Hall. But otherwise it is like all medium size shopping centers.
Massive like a tardis great variety of shops took us ages took look round
No one enforcing the clearly marked social distancing measures, particularly the one way system.
Also you are asked to keep to the left as you move round, but the escalators are working the other way round, ie up escalator is on the right
Vault 14 and Gregg's tho that's all they got also a fountain but it's like 2 feet high I'm like 3 times as tall 6"4 or 6"3 lol you only go there to go town you don't do anything there lol
Good range of shops good location and plenty of bus routes
The few decent shops in this shopping centre are average - but what this shopping centre is lacking in is shops. I do not see the point of going to this shopping centre when there are other shopping centre nearby that actually have a decent variety of shops. I don't recommend shopping at this place as the shops this place does have don't have very good prices.
Shopping centre was good. Best place to eat is the BEST Cafe, great value for money, friendly staff and great service. Can get busy.
It's on its way up again, but has lost Argos and several other major shops
Been in there today I don't think it has changed much at all still one big shopping centre
The waterdale is not know anymore due to Frenchgate, which is a shame. There are still some great shop left in the waterdale. Get down and support them business.
A few good shops in here, not like it used to be when I was little. No public toilets here should you need them.
Very clean and well set out. Would love to visit when everywhere is open.
Bit run down and not many decent shops
No bad
Not a lot of things I'd buy.cffee at Neros ok.
I parked in the multistorey car park
Once all shops open, it will be much better, worth a visit
A lot of the shops are closed, in in the process of a much needed facelift
Had an interview at Doni council so I just parked in the closed car park
Very convinient and close to the council office
Old shopping centre that could definitely do with some tlc. Probably wouldn't visit after dark.
Every one was so help full a special the girl in top shop she help me to pick 2 out fits for my 2 granddaughter for Xmas she was lovely and the man up stairs in man department too thank you xxxx
Not many shops open but them that are are doing there best to stick to covid rulings
Clean area. Nice to view diffent places to shop all under one roof and not too big.
Not much open today
It was ok
Warm, bright and pleasant shopping space. Seems even more inviting when compared to the often grim Doncaster streets in the town centre.
It was very quiet as I expected. I and other people were Confused to find the exit and entrance. Most people observed the distancing.
Alas, pretty poor now. Lost a lot of shops in the last few years. New shop complex to open 'soon' might improve experience.
Nice bling shop, other than that a bit rundown in that part of Doncaster.
Good 👍
Very good.
Waterdale was lovely but there was lots of Romanians didn't see any British citizens.
Seeing all the reprobates makes you feel better bout yourself! L o l
Nah ..kidding...sorta... it's surrounded by shops/takeaways
Cheap parking but the roof is getting worse and half the spaces are now coned off
Too good to go shop to save food from land fill.
Good experience witj nice shops
Great place do do all your shopping with the various shops available all round good shopping centre.
Very clean and airy to shop in. Nice toilets
A shell of a shopping centre now. I can remember when all of the shops were occupied.
It's was great
Lots of shops closed due to Covid restrictions, hope they are all able to re-open soon
rooftop parking direct access from bus and train stations great selection of shops everything you could want and Doncaster market just outside
Happier now compared when there was more stringent shopping rules
It's okay, there isn't really a large range of shops though so you might need to go to multiple areas to get everything you need.
It is a good place to go shopping around there at good prices. Good pub in there staff of life good beers on nice staff
It's not bad and it's a very lovely place to come and shop in doncaster aswell as the frenchgate too
It's a nice place and it's good there are plans to redevope it, but there are too many empty shops
Nice and posh just right for me!!!
Very busy place some really good shops plenty of parking
Very good shopping experience with a wide range of shops all together under one roof
I can't walk past my favourite shop as there's always new to see.
Difficult to park if you're making a flying visit.
Ok
Nice shopping complex but be careful as the town is full of spice heads
Too many shops shut. More bars/ restaurants would be nice
Great place new shops being built at time hopefully will get better
Lovely place especially when they have the water fountains on and all the kiddies having fun
Could be better. plus side is Underground car park with direct access and good parking rates
Rubbish was a thriving shopping place dack in the 90s did not need to go into main shops in town centre now nothing same as the market
Some excellent shops and a lovely cafe offering great value and good food
Very quiet and not many people around...
Great place and various business units in there
Some new small businesses opening recently. Good Polish restaurant, 3 good cafes, good cheap underground parking

Good when its not busy as can get crowded. Has everything anyone would need.
Nice cafe in water dale on the corner. A nice man called Jimmy owns it.
Looking forward to when new shops an bistros open there in the future
It's a place which was good in its day. Now it is gradually being knocked down.
Nice shopping complex, just be careful of the beggers hanging around the entrance
Brill as always, just wish argos was still there
Very good quality things in shop some unique items
Lots of choice. Good eateries including Cosmos. Great shops from clothes to nick nacks.
Ewww ....can fill the shops got a idea lets build a building for more shops.... the ones that are there are good tho ..
This used to be a vibrant shopping area in Doncaster now its becoming a ghostly area with few shops and many large empty stores
Need more shops but it's getting better.

City Restaurant is a gem of a place
Hardly any shops open - Just like a ghost town!!
