The Indian cultural quarter. 5-6 mile stretch of road full of Jewellery shops, Indian restaurants, Indian sweet shops, clothing shops and grocery stores. A must see during the religious festival of Diwali when the road is closed for several hours to all vehicles and people congregate on the road to celebrate. Well worth a visit if you've not been before. A great place to get a bite to eat.

The Golden Mile is so nice, in theory, but it is becoming run down and dirty. There was a fair amount of rubbish thrown on pavements and the side of the roads. There's no places to park really either. What it would benefit from is a large free car park, specifically for the Golden Mile to attract more custom from all over. It's a great place, but could be improved. Also, the Diwali and Christmas lights have been the same for many, many years and could do with updating to something more modern. Leicester City Council should really be investing more in to this lovely area!
