Reviews of Carlton Centre
A. T. (.
The Carlton center has a good selection of stores to choose from. There is a good quality free carpark with dedicated disabled parking. Entry to the stores is easy going for wheelchair users.
C.
We stopped here specifically to visit McDonald's with our grandchildren.
The service at McDonald's was good as it most often is. McDonald's is an occasional treat the kids look forward to and have not yet been disappointed.
Parking at the Calrton Centre was easy considering that it was a Monday lunchtime.
There seems to be quite a few independent retailers as we as a few chain retailers, such as Dunelm and Halfords.
My wife visited Dunelm but came back disappointed saying it was quite expensive and not as competitive as their online shopping.
As all shopping arcades and centres, some units were empty. That would probably change if rates were based upon the profit of each unit rather than a set rate per square foot. This is likely to worsen as exorbitant energy and fuel costs close more businesses.
Most councils do little to keep shopping areas vibrant and interesting.
S. B.
Helpful staff although some seem a bit reluctant to offer any form of customer service and would sooner chat to their mates. Clean premises and everything in its place. Prefer the Tritton Road Halfords for customer service.
B. B.
Went to boots for some xmas shopping. Realised there's a vets at the carlton centre ! Poundstreachers is alot bigger up there than the one on Birchwood shopping centre .
j. g.
Good place to go, pets at home, boots, Costa, dunelm and others nicely laid out lots of car parking.
J. W.
Got a great range of shops plus macdonalds if that's your thing. I love Dunelm cafe as the coffee is fabulous and quality of food and drinks great at reasonable prices. Often have food reductions later in the day!
c. e.
Found by chance. Good space with easy parking and nice range of shops. Area was clean and tidy. A good find for a quick shopping trip
A. G.
These guys here are very helpful ,
There more than happy to help with anything.
From fixing bicycle issues to changing a bulb on your car.
There's alot to look at here too.
Carpark can be a bit hit or miss as it's the carpark for all the other shops in the Charlton centre but usually a space .
k. s.
Very handy for Boots, Dunelm, great Costa, Halford, Bakery Co-op, Go Dance, McDonald's and a few other places. Free parking
P.
Nice shopping area and McDonald's, plus large Lidl, Aldi and Tesco Extra nearby. Main Hospital only 1/2 mile away
O. O. (.
A place of good leisure for both Adult and children.
Check-in and see your desire items
T. W.
Went to Boots to get some cough sweets. All good. Terry.
M. T.
Lovely medium sized shopping complex, just down from the Tesco super store.
H. H.
Don't know what to say, staff are friendly but the battery they sold and fitted failed MOT as it didn't fit the holder correctly
J. B.
Had a little look around lovely cafe good movie choice shops good John B
C. S.
A handy centre with a good range of shops and facilities. Fantastic Italian restaurant with an ice cream parlour too!!!!
M. A.
Located north of Lincoln city centre the Carlton Centre is a shopping village with plenty of free parking and a good selection of high street names including Boots, Argos, Dunlem, Costa, McDonald's, pets at home etc and a few independent shops mixed in. It can get busy over the weekend and traffic congestion isn't unusual. Clean and well maintained but no public toilets.
G. M.
Great place to visit, you can have a relaxing coffee, do a variety of shopping from clothes and shoes to something for the car, there's also a Maccies for the kids and the big kids 😀
W. H.
It was fairly clean. Not many things outside shops to get in your way when walking around.
m. w.
Lots of parking, easy access for the shops.
I. W.
Although they didn't eventuality have the part I needed in stock the member of staff was extremely helpful.
S. I.
Went to halfords.. average shop, sells everything you need for cars and bike accessories. Brought some great phone holders from here that don't break! Definitely recommend.
J. B.
Handy shop for general motoring items. They will fit so if your not sure why not let them get there hands dirty as its not that expensive. Have a Costa if you need to wait.
B. P.
Reasonable range of shops covering the basics with a couple of nice cafes. Mamas wine bar is a good place for meeting friends
A. M.
Went to Durham Mill shop got a lovely rug
P. S.
Fantastic place and loads of parking space big shops
J. B.

P. S.

L. L.
Went to Dunelms
Lovely store got everything I wanted plus more . Great staff very helpful. Will definitely be going back soon
J. P.
It's ok but the parking bays that although comply with regulations are not large enough for modern vehicles especially when trying to get shopping, children etc and can't open the back door far enough
m. s.
Quite busy. No disabled parking available near the store we went to. Streets clean and tidy.
j.
Handy place to visit, I go to pets at home quite often. Then you have curry's too.
j. a.
Good choice of shops and lots of parking
T. S.
A fantastic Mall style shopping centre with plenty of free parking, so in and out quickly! The staff in the outlets are all excellent. Great shopping.
D. F.
It's a shopping centre what more can you say
C. G.
Useful stop, lots if shops and free parking
S. R.
The Carlton centre as a whole looks well used and in need of a bit of tlc . The shops are useful , busy and most are open . There's a car park big enough to park a car in . Of course there's a MC Donald , but you can always bring sandwiches . There is a pleasant atmosphere , it's stroll able , no hurry . I have and will again . ( My opinions are my own , no one else's )
P. C.
Shops and a maccys to sit at and play candy crush whilst the Mrs is visiting them
K. M.
Got my Bike serviced here. Did the breaks and gears and seemed to do a good job at a reasonable price. Only issue was it took two weeks to get that done. But good value.
W. H.
It's great to shop there. The shops like dunelm boots shoe shop also halfords and co op and many more. I love shopping there but don't use the cash point it' eats your card.
A. P.
Everything you need on your doorstep. No need to go into town, everything is at the Carlton Centre.
S. D.
Went to shoe zone, they was brilliant and very helpful
L. R.
Good area if you know what it is that you want, clthing store, home stores, pound strechers, open till midnight boots chemist halfords Macdonald's, Co op, Costa coffeeshop, argos, pets at home, italian restaurant, cash machine, massive parking, alas, no public toilets
N. G.
Fairly dated retail park that needs updating and a face-lift.
R. A.
Convenient parking, good range of shops and to central Lincoln. Boots pharmacy is good as is the dental practice near buy.
B. Y.
I love the Carlton Centre. It's just across the road from where I live, on Glebe. I haven't been over there for 3 years+ Argos isn't open and my dearest friend Charlie my rescue dog died, so I don't need to go to pets at home. I would love another King Charles Spaniel, they are so cute and intelligent too. I live on my own, so he was my constant companion and helped me answer the door, as I am deaf. So I wish this covid virus, would hurry up and disappear. So many people dying. It's awful. I am stuck at home being protected. I feel like a prisoner,in my own home, even though I have had both jabs. I wish I could work from home, but I have been out of work for years & now retirement age, I bet I have no retirement money. I don't know what to do.
A. P.
McDonald’s serving cold chips 🍟 today. I had my money back
S. P.
Just awaiting the puregym to open soon
D. B.
Very good shopping centre with free parking.
m. b.
So many different shops
F. F. a. C.
I go here regularly living a 5 minute walk away, great selection of shops. The Co-op is really nice, as are most of the shops in this area. Could happily spend a couple hours here. There is a McDonald's and a Costa's also.
P. W.
Good shopping centre with plenty of shops Inc boots poundstretcher and pets at home you could even grab a coffee at Costa there a co op cooplands also a vets dentist and plenty more shops to
G. M.
Just finished the new peloton layout
S. N.
I visited Pets at Home on the Carlton centre. They couldn't have been more helpful. It was 10 minutes to closing time. But the 2 Male assistants went out of their way to try and locate me some of their Puppy training pads. They checked the delivery that had just come in. They checked with the warehouse. Finally locating some at another branch. I will be picking them up tomorrow. That is what I call real customer service. Well done and a big Thank you
c. g.
The carlton Centre is getting very shabby with unused units.
M. R.
First time I've been here but with the current restrictions all the stores are pretty much on the money. Staff throughout were polite and helpful. Dunelm Cafe very reasonable! Worth a visit for a quick bite. 👍
P. W.
A good selection of shops.
M. K.
Good range of shops.
R. S.
Halfords got me out of a jam. Rated 100%

Great shopping experience using click and collect for the first time. Would recommend to friends & family.
M. A.
Lots of little shops to choose from. Costa, mcdonalds, and denhelm offer food choices. There is a shoe store here as well. Lots of parking.
J. C.
Enjoy shopping here love dunelm, peacocks and pounstretchers. Nice cafe for a break and McDonald's for a snack.
P. J.
I needed a new battery for a daughter's car. The staff found the battery and fitted it. 10 minutes later it was all sorted. No hassle for me. Great staff. Great service.
g. B.
Enjoyed shopping here good to get back on the high street although parking spaces tiny.
C. P.
This is a very busy shopping centre which is supported by well know shops close by that are all within walking distance. Well worth a visit. Another plus parking is free. Not only is it a shopping centre there is a very good Italian, hairdressers dentist tanning shop.
I. W.
Loads of parking space. Got post office. chemist. Fast food drive threw.coffee shop. Car parts push bike and tools store. Food supermarket. Pet shop even a Argos store all in a easy to get to area
r. h.

S. p.
A nice selection of shops with McDonald's I op and boots .parking get very full with ques to leave at busy times .
Free parking
A. T.
Needs a big update. The area just doesn't feel very vibrant or welcoming, and it has a bad reputation of being the 'rougher' part of that area of Lincoln, even though the housing estate behind is quite smart and expensive.
There aren't many different shops and probably the most popular one being Costa. There's been a main shop that's been vacant for ages now so it adds to the feeling of the centre looking run-down.
The staff in each of the shops are lovely though so they are the reason that I think people shop their frequently still.
D. A.
Good selection of shops and very convenient to those living close by. Some stores are looking a bit worse for wear, but there does seem to be some regeneration going on.
The car park does get awfully busy and parking can be tight, but if you're not going on a Saturday lunchtime, you should be OK.
H. S.
After our traumatic experience at Tritton Road store we came up too this store, staff are so helpful and friendly. Bit annoying as I wasn't told of something I needed to buy extra for the fish pump I purchased to work but the guy that helped us at the fish section ,other than this, was amazing, friendly and very helpful. Certainly cheered up a boy whom left the other store in a meltdown and traumatic state. Thank you
P. W.
Good variety of shops from chains like Pets At Home and Argos, mixed with McDonald's, Costa Coffee and a few small independent retailers. Parking can be a little tight in places for large vehicles and sometimes a shortage of spaces at busy times of day, so being able to walk up to 200-300 meters may be required from a parking space to some stores. Some chains like Argos and Pets At Home are smaller stores so may not have large stock ranges compared to large stores, best to check stock availability before visiting if you want specific products.
P. O.
The centre is well placed to service the North side of Lincoln but only has limited shops in the centre. Those that are there do offer a wide variety of product range and store type. Parking is free but it can be busy at the popular times of day.
T. B.
Local retail park north of Lincoln. Free parking.
R. F.
Good shop, good amount of stock inside and staff helpful enough. Watch out driving past in the car park so you don't run them over!
M. W.
Can't really fault this shopping area. 2 entrance and exits, good varied selection of business and commercial shops, free parking and a McDonalds slapped in the middle. I frequently visit this area and never had any problems. It would be nice if they built on the spare land they have and extend it.
M. R.
Great parking, decent amount of shops to enjoy.
D. F.
This is a useful shopping centre in ad much as it's there but oh dear it could have so many more interesting shops. A bigger Boots , a Superdrug ....just competition as it has a huge area to draw from
M. C.
Lots of variety of shops now. Plenty of parking. More shops around the back of the centre with a small car park there. Didn't see any public toilets 🚻 but don't take that as gospel there aren't any. Will update on next visit.
K. S.
Good to be back after 18 months of restricted travel. Found the experience OK and not too busy early days for me getting out and about but realised how much I've missed it
R. G.
Nice little shopping precinct. Not too many shops to choose from but enough to give a good varied choice so you will most likely find what you are looking for. A Costa to sit down in and relax with a coffee and snack. Also has a macdonalds. Not sure on the parking as I park at my son's who lives near.
L. H.
Plenty of free parking spaces. Choice of shops, McDonalds, Costa Coffee, shoe shop, Boots, Dunelm, Argos. Coffee shop, restaurant (highly recommend called Mammas).
P. P.
Any place is at least 4 out of 5 when it's packing California cir scents, Colorado cherry Xtreme (Capital X). Unbelievable air freshener for hiding even the smelliest stank.
T. O.
Very helpful staff had a windscreen repair done reasonably priced
S. H.
Actually had to get a prescription and one of the nurses told me that boots do them 24 hours which was great as it was out of normal hours. I only used boots this time and was lucky enough to pick up some items that I can't get on my local boots . Was really happy with the service.
A. P.
Basic edge of town small shopping centre, plenty of parking space and the shops/cafes are ok too (except for McDonald's). You need to be careful driving round there though as the density of idiots in the area does seem higher than the national average. The Argos is big but a nightmare due mostly to really poor staffing/Ill functioning technology - best to order and pay online then pop in to collect if you want to avoid exasperation at the hands of Muppets.
V. D.
Easy to find a parking space most of the time. Decent range of shops plus a cafe and a MacDonald with a drive through option. Staff at pets at home are very friendly and helpful.
C. S.
Nice little shopping area, as usual owned by the Co-Op. Fair range of shops, generally very tidy. Carpark will give you rage!
R. P.
I was buying a car at Evans Halshaw down the road, it was around 10am, I had just driven down from Leeds, I was hungry so whilst waiting for the paperwork to process I had a wonder around here. I had a quick Mcdonald's breakfast, (it would be rude not to) and then had a browse of the shops. Nothing dramatically exciting happened, I had a look in Boots.
The car park seemed adequately sized for the selection of shops available.
R. B.
All the shops you need
N. E.
Great little shopping area
M. R.
Hectic and really busy on this Saturday morning. With only a few shops we had to drive to the next shops which added to more stress.
Ok fir a quick stop, coffee and some quick buys from specific shops but isolated from other main shopping areas in Lincoln due to its location towards the north of Lincoln city centre.
W. G.
This is a fairly good shopping centre, there is a good selection of shops.
M. M.
Great range of product. Staff were helpful and the store was clean and tidy. Recommend it.
A. A.
What an organised place, easy to navigate through the various shops
C. P.
Great shopping centre, outside lots of good shops Halfords, Argos ,
L. R.
Went to get my headlight repaired as it's an xeron light. After waiting an age for someone to come and look at it ( as there was only two people running around serving a large growing queue of people) the young man couldnt fix my light. Called a colleague and after 10 minutes, neither could he. Ended up being sent to the larger Halfords at Triton Road who were super efficient and got it changed in no time. If you've got a complicated light for your car, I'd recommend the Triton Rd garage. If you are looking for a bog standard light change then this place would be fine. A plus would be he did a thorough visual inspection of all my lights to make sure it was the correct one that I'd said was broken. There was also someone waiting in front of me that had their light fixed and it seemed to go without issue. Chaps helping were all pleasant and did try to fix it.
s. e.
Getting back is buss since store closures, ample car parking
L. C.
Great selection of stores, literally one of everything there. Only complaint is the lack of police or authority when it comes to dealing with all the boy racers and thugs.
S. B.
Good array of shops, but essential ones, like Argos and the card shop are still not open (and won't be I don't think) since lockdown! 😕
S. C.
Not a bad selection of shops but car parking spaces are cramped.
M. B.
Basics, including Costa, Dunhelm, Halfords, Poundstretcher,
d.
Few shops to spoil yourself in ....and if you feel a sense of guilt there's even a homeless dude who you can buy a Mackie D to cleanse your soul ...Happy shopping chumrades 👍
A. J.
Good range of camping and motorhome accessories, staff really helpful.
Great range of new and used motorhomes, too.
A. C.
Visited it multiple times.
Nice place.
Came here to visit pound sketcher.
I miss LIDL that was here :(
I also visit boots sometimes, Halfords and pets at home, and St.Barnabos and Co op.
All good stores, good staff and very close and convenient from home.
I would request to have a grocery centre here in the empty shop.
S. C.
Good few selection of shops and cafes, well kept area, nice and clean
L. P.
We go to the Carlton center a couple of times a week. It's all on flat ground which makes walking easier! It's great to get all of your shopping done in one place!
S. Q.
Could do with more shops
M.
Only negative I can really think of for the place is a lot of youths hang out around the place either with bikes/cars revving them constantly or just being general idiots around the car park.
S. K.
Free parking easy to get into and get out of. Has a few handy shpps to avoid expensive parking in city centre namely Argos, Boots, Pound-stretcher, Halfords, Dunelm, MacDonalds and Costa Coffee.
L. H.
Always find it easy to park. Good selection of shops and despite what's been in the press never had a problem with car crime. McDonald's is the evening hangout for the "youff" in their cars, but unless you're going to park in the McDonald's car park won't affect you. Tip, exit the car park by the Halfords exit if you're going down Tritton Rd towards Greetwell Rd, you won't get stuck in the traffic jam at the exit onto Carlton Boulevard.
K. B.
Pretty good shopping experience
M. A.
Small out of town shopping centre with shops we use on a regular basis. Always loads of free parking
D. “. K.
Not a bad place to visit some good outlets and fair pricing in the shops parking is plentiful but seemed a bit short on toilets wont stop me shopping there just a valid point
j. e.
It's got a great selection of shops and some really friendly people staffing them!
M. S.
Great service efficient staff
J. C.
Staff could have just a little more knowledge on products they sell, but friendly enough
R. H.
Great shopping centre with plenty of disabled parking, but the new road bumps they have put in are horrible, no matter how slowly I drive over them they jolt my wife's back and put her in agony
J. P.
Not a very busy time of the day as went around 2pm ..all shop practising social distances , wearing of masks..its just the human race that need to take heed in these unusual times ..
a. o.
The Carlton Centre is a skyscraper and shopping centre located in downtown Johannesburg, South Africa. At 223 metres (732 ft), it has been the tallest office building in Africa since 1973. The Carlton Centre has 50 floors. The foundations of the two buildings in the complex are 5 m (16 ft) in diameter and extend 15 m (49 ft) down to the bedrock, 35 m (115 ft) below street level. The building houses both offices and shops, and has over 46 per cent of the floor area below ground level.
The Carlton Centre is linked to the Carlton Hotel by a below-ground shopping centre with over 180 shops.
M. G.
Great for local shopping has everything you can need quickly. Food shopping, coffee place and furniture shopping. Plenty of parking spaces and easy access via bikes and on foot.
D. M.
Extremely tight parking, typical retail park
J. A.
Fab range of products and services. Great cafes. Clean and tidy pedestrian areas
A. T.
Easy parking and interesting mix of shops here.
G. S.
It's got it all including Costa, Pets at Home, Boots etc. It's even got a McDonald's that has the worst reliable Milk shake machine, only discovered when you're locked ten deep in the Drive Thru. Sixth time so far.
W. K.
Can find products easily if not staff help is excellent and they will help you locate items in store or suggest where else you should go
Staff are very knowledgeable
S. H.
Usual out of town retail park, bit old could do with a refresh on the buildings otherwise ok
L.
Nice retail park. Wouldn't say it's the best for a 'day out kind of shopping' but a good amount of shops. With Lidl across the road too.
H. P.
Helpful staff fast service. Car park difficult to manoeuvre- spaces very small and difficult to get in and out of, also dangerous for pedestrians getting into the restaurant!
m. g.
Tidy retail park just on the edge of Lincoln. It's got McDonald's, Costa, Boots, Pound Stretcher, Shoezone, Peacocks, Dunelm and even Halfords to name a few.
Not too bad for parking, apart from busy times. Nice and clean, with a village type of feel to it.
L. J.
Good selection of shops, good parking , always enjoy coming here,
J. C.
Lots of different shops, A big Dunelm, Argos and Peacocks, Food and drink outlets too. Here's a bonus, there's FREE PARKING for 3 hours.
C. B.
Clean, good selection of both little shops and some larger retailers. It also houses the local NHS Wellbeing offices as well as 2 other counselling centres ('Lincoln Centre For Grief and Loss' and 'Supporting Minds')
S. W.
Very busy shopping centre, Dunelm, for the home, Halfords for the car clothes and shoe shop, Poundstretcher for bargains plus a charity shop. Places to eat and drink it makes a complete trip out.
B. W.
Ever changing, the Carlton Centre is great for grabbing a few bits without too much hassle. Chemist, coffee, post office, pets, pound shop, bikes and homewares all available and easy to get to Even the newly renovated fast food (McD) is brisk and modern.
My favourite store is Dunelm where you can browse at leisure and grab a bite in the upstairs cafe.
You do park here at your own risk, we had the rear of our car almost written off in the five minutes it took to nip into a store and out. No witnesses, no cameras.
I. S.
Plenty of parking spaces, but now has two big empty gaps where Poundstretcher and shoe shop were. Wonderful cafe and charity shop though.
S. V.
Good retail park
M. P.
Parking is OK and good variety of shops
M. E.
Fine place where you can have either of a decent Costa coffee or tasty Italian food from mamma’s.
You can enjoy the breakfast from cooplands while servicing your car at Halfords.
T. R.
This is a small but really nice shopping centre. Plenty of parking always clean and tidy.
S. S.
Great place do a bit of shopping and get a bite to eat all in one place
h. l.
Like most places, the shops are trying to get more customers back in to help them build their trade up, following the Lockdown and the difficulties it brought.
M. A.
Visited the area to get something to eat and the place had many places available. I cannot comment on quality of shops but for the reason I went there, I found adequate parking and ease of getting around.
W. R.
Excellent customer service from the start to finish, also fitted and supplied the blinds, was in contact with us all the time BIG THANK YOU
windmill hill Pudsey
A. R.
Visited dunelm. Straight in got what I required and out again.
Staff encountered very pleasant and helpful.
Covid measures in place.
L. W. (.
Good selection of shops, no toilets but MacDs etc there in an emergency. Few scary tweenagers hanging around but well kept and ample parking.
D. R.
Boots store is convenient with easy parking. Helpful staff.
M. J.
Great set of shops on a retail park. Plenty of parking and food outlets on site. Great for a quick shop.
K. L.
A lovely shopping centre with great shops and plenty of parking. Situated just outside the main city there's enough variety to fulfil shopping needs.
p. w.
Nice shopping area no stress very relaxing morning around there
R. T.
Good shop layout. Helpful staff. Parking sometimes very busy
I. B.
Plenty of parking now that lidl have moved, if they are able to replace lidl the site owners really should consider more parking spaces
s. d.
Very helpful staff
C. !.
I liked the calton hotel /b&b loved everything apart from in our room couldn't find the light for shower so had to go and ask they happily showed us and it was fine just room 4 had that problem and the switch is next to the bunk bed it was a great stay 👍
k. s.
Was early evening mid week visit. Plenty of parking, nice and quiet but still people about abf using the shops.
D. S.
As with most of Lincoln getting there is painful as parking is often crowded and the labyrinth of traffic lights ensure that your blood pressure will be extreme. Shops however are decent.
C. W.
Had a lovely afternoon x
K. F.
Great range of shops, free parking and a couple of places to eat too.
J. J.
This is a well laid out shopping mall with plenty of amenities to make the visit more pleasant. It is very clean and staff on hand to help with with queries. Loos, lifts and well signposted
M. K.
Difficult to get a proper idea of the place at 3am, I only stopped by to grab a burger at McDonald's. But from what I saw it looks like a great shopping experience.
J.
