Reviews of Clayton Square Shopping Centre
One place I'm always sure to stop/ shop at on venturing into the town centre. I like large Boots store here, especially at Xmas time when looking for gifts & perfume. Bodycare is probably my favourite all year round shop in here, large selection toiletries & household item's ( & also Xmas gift sets ) H&B/ & B&M prices, with a little more/ different varieties on a lot of item's, I like to stock up on a few thing's when I come , as I don't come often. ( not the biggest or best, but definitely welcomed in the city centre ) this was my first visit to this particular B & M store, enjoyed a nose around, & picked up a couple of bargains too.
This has a huge Boots with the largest beauty section in the UK. Clas Ohlson is an excellent place to find basic household necessities and diy bits and bobs such as tools and screws.
Just went for a sports top and a look round. Plenty of shops and a great atmosphere. To be recommended
Good place...
Nice place
Not so good with shops being close during this lockdown
Loved all the shops here. Plenty of seats spread around, so lots of time to take a break and sit for a while !!
This shopping centre used to have alot more stores in with a second floor. This all now seems to have closed but the stores left are still worth a visit
Good shopping and is missing some nice cafes although there is the usual costas and similar type coffee shops
Had to go to the cinema this was one very nice place and the staff here were all very well mannered and very helpful lovely place
A good variety of shops and services. Fine location.
Amazing night definitely recommend a visit staff so friendly looking forward to are next visit
Very lively Atmosphere
Decent selection of stores, occasionally hosts events which can be fun but not really anything special.
Another brilliant shopping centre easy to navigate
Luv it especially now we have B & M
Small shopping centre with some amenities. Toilets and an Amazon locker are available. Contains shops like Boots and Clas Olsen.
Love shopping hear every thing you want ya can get all around you just jump on train or car always find parking
Really it's just a passageway from Liverpool Central to St John's square now, but the Clas Ohlson nearby is like IKEA for tools and small furniture, and the Boots is OK too.
Beware the stalls down the middle. They sell cheap and probably fake phone accessories and handbags. I wouldn't trust the ecigarette and watch repair stalls either. White coats do not a quality salesperson make, and neither does a watch repairman on Facebook all day.
Love going to Quarters accessories shop here always find a good bargain and the large beautysave store with plenty of makeup and perfumes on offer
Excellent place for shopping
Looks like a great spot but I was hungover to bits so it was arduous to walk around and buy stuff to bring home to the kids
Picked a a few things from wilko. Pretty busy
..
Everyone socially distancing- looks like town is getting safe to go to
Lovely day in liverpool one. Especially enjoyed the Lego shop. The atmosphere was great friendly people.
Good range of shops here well located in the city. Convenient bus stops nearby.
Just revisited and more effort has been put in since last visit, big improvement, keep it up.
A place to walk and shop people watch but most of all relax
COVID. It's weird but they're doing a good job. How much do you want a Carling???
Had a complete facelift about a year ago and the now doesn't feel right anymore, too tight and enclosed. Shops are ok.
Super place very
Very pleasant shopping experience.
Clas Olhson is nice to browse, Boots if you need expensive shower gel and a cute local arts and crafts shop with local works from Liverpool. Not much going on as it's just a enlarged hallway
Very nice
It has a roof. It keeps you dry when you shop in the discount stores located there. Brilliant!!
Well established shopping area but I'm not a fan of the newish lay out, mostly use it now as a walk through
Best shops and venues together just yards apart
Main hub of the older part of Liverpool city centre. Quite a vibrant area with shops and St Johns Precinct. An interesting place.
Enjoyed my visit there, has a bit of everything
Great place to do all your shopping. Multiple places for whatever you need.
Very busy and lively changed a lot since I was last here 40 years ago!
A good place for most retail but like St Johns tends to be chav central as well. I definitely prwfer Liverpool One and Bold Street where the same shops can be found.
Small but cute the fruit and veg barrow outside is highly recommended.....
Nice enough. Looks like there are some interesting things coming up.
Not much in there now only few shops
Have shopped at clayton square for years, shame they got rid of the inside shops. It is always well kept and tidy x
Only gave it 5 stars because it's in Liverpool and everywhere in Liv gets 5 stars
Not much choice of shopping as so small fresh airy and clean fresh fruit stall and coffee shops also bigger named stores
Very pleasant shopping are in the town bright and cleaner part of the city, undercover street type atmosphere.
Very good considering the current pandemic situation.
Its clean open spaced & good shops there and large so can take a lot if people
Was closed when i went but the thai place at top of stairs was open ans pretty gd 👍🏾
The Boots outlet is one of the largest in the area, and my go-to store for health needs.
I'm a regular at Costa's, never a long wait despite being very busy. Convenient for shops like Tesco and Boots.
Just working there, Chris painter, but have a look, lot see , art shop really good
.
Busy and managed to get some more Christmas shopping done
Worth going to but a bit run down with shops closing down.
Very nice coffee in the summer
Excellent shops something for everyone's pocket . From pound shops to the very top end designer . Only you can choose.
Good price quick service
Poor selection of shops. Only good thing is that it had a large Boots
Nice shopping centre.
SMashing shop in claytonc square get all your cheap bobbles hair bands all dead cheap well worth a visit xx
Clayton sq is a friendly place. Good bargains and good pubs.
Good...and looking much better now that several of the empty units have now been taken.
It used to be so much better on two floors, now there's less shops and it's just on one floor
Love the cleanliness if Clayton square It even smells clean.
Great place to get your hands on the things you love in one place
Plenty of shops and outdoor seating. Hot and cold food and drinks available all week
small shopping area close to all amenities trains shops food and plenty off pubs
I went to boots in side but its mostly walk through to the trains at Central Station
Had a lovely shopping day at Clayton square loads of lovely places under one roof
Plenty shops good variety of everything I need to go back to visit.
Very clean and tidy
Pretty good
Nice place but really crowded and some rubbish
Great mall. Good shops and a walk through to central station, good choice of shops and stalls
Excellent shop with first class service and excellent quality and prices
Could do with a good clean but has a good vibe
Nice place very busy this time of year as to be exspected
Like being here. Great environment with something always going on. Fountains are cool when turned on
A well organised and friendly shopping area, in the middle of Liverpool
Busy and good place to come together and enjoy the night life in the greatest city Liverpool.
Well maintained, light filled centre that constituted a fitting first impression of central Liverpool on arrival by train.
Strange selections of clothes, taste specific to Liverpool, bit useful stores like wilko
Stuff for everybody, a lot of reduce price and good offerts! Must go there!👍
Small shopping unit with lovely gifts and clothes to buy. Stop and enjoy a great coffee and snack
A central location of Liverpool which has various shops and cafes very neat Central station with heavy footfall near a faltering indoor market full of empty units
Only really Boots and B&M there now, might start coming back up now that Liverpool One is going downhill and people are shopping more on Church Street and St.Johns shopping centre again. Would be nice to see it thriving the way it used to be.
very pleasant shopping trip lots of friendly helpful people
I love it ❣
All the stores there were good the pepole were kind and well it's just a good place
Nice shopping centre with lots if shops. Probably sufferung from competition from Liverpool One but still worth a visit
Not much in Clayton Square any more sadly. Boots, Superdrug, Peacocks and that's about it other than St Johns Precinct
Great place to walk around lots of shop mices places to drink and eat
Great place to shop around Worth a visit.
Quite a few good shops here
Improving with the renovations. Class Olson will make you buy something you didn't know you needed
Not many shops in here, people tend to use it as a cut through.
Beautful place.
Biggest Boots chemist in Liverpool. Plus a selection of other shops e.g. Matalan, Clas Olsen. The square itself has a water feature and benches.
All the shops you will ever need are around Clayton Square within a quarter of a mile radius 👍😊
Nice and clean well kept. Nice shops. Handy to get to.
its ok was just dropping daughter off
Not very impressed. Half the shops are closed .
All Your Needs Taken Care Of And Train Station Nearby. Great Experience For All.
Same old, same old. Nothing ever changes but the faces of beggars and tramps. Decent shops around though but grungy in places.
I've not been in to Clayton Square foe some time, what a disappointment, where have all the stores gone?
Very good shopping area boots and mini stalls leading from and to main shopping area in city
lovely & clean always find what u want there
A excellent place to shop.
Nice, than it rains.
The atmosphere is a bit to cold and rejecting, I wouldn't want to spend more time there than I have to.
Try some big artificial trees and greens and warmer colours, we are not tin Spain.
Lots of variety - visited various shops snd purchased all I needed!! A good day!!
Shopping centre nothing special
Only good place in here is Dunkin Donuts
Blot on the city, always has been. Rip it down and put some character back.
Very good shopping area for all your needs
Nice, and good prices all around, good place for shopping
The new realm links Clayton sq with l1 and makes it look modern. New shops are coming in and make the area more popular
Lovely place to grab a bite to eat and catch up with friends
Love it
Good shops but miss the large TV screen and seats
Good but not as good as few years ago.
A very beautiful place with lots of lights, shops and coffees
Great shopping area with two of my favourite shops and one of my favourite eateries
Liverpool! Just superb! Full of scousers perfect, loads to do, very pleasant people-your never alone in Liverpool!
Small place but inside city centre sa it's fine
Scuse,me mate have you got 50p/a cigarette I can have?
One best city location in country
Love Liverpool and everything about it the people are all nice and friendly and most of the place are great
Good eating area great meeting place with theatres close by
Had a nice Costas with outside seating for those sunny days.
small place. has a few niche shops. if your in the area its worth a walk through
Nice place to go if it's cold and raining outside.
Used to love it here but not too sure now
Nice little shopping mall contains various stores and cafés
Smart make over of the central hall, but only a few stores have survived.
Like this cafe even when its busy staff will go all out for you . And compared to some I've visited its clean
Bon pan resutrant I would highly recommend that you all try.
Some good shops here to bounce in and out of. Sports direct is decent.
Very busy place, nice shops around. Dirty fountain though
Always a lovely part of Town to do your shopping.
nice place. reasonable prices and it feels more local than any other place in Liverpool
Its ok! A shopping centre!! A great Boots which is why I was there.....friendly staff
Only a few shops in there now but they are good clean and covid aware
Nice place for a visit plenty of shops to peruse in
The only place i went to was boots, looks big but not many shops.
It's good. Used to be better but that's progress??
Always gettinf hassled by the sales guys like sky or talk talk
I miss the old layout with cafe up top
Was OK a good place to catch a shop with Tescos And the market also Class Holsen /Coffee etc
Still nice to have a shop around.
Modern but not much in there apart from boots and Claus olfson at the moment
Love the amount of shops here
Needed new bus pass the queue was long but enough staff were on
Plenty of boozer's in area, great place to go shopping. 👍
Not much there apart from Boots and a couple of other shops, it's not like it used to be, quite disappointing really.
Has everything l was looking for, well worth a visit
Extra large Boots the Chemist, beauty salon, Clas Ohlson and a coffee at either end of the mall.
Popular place for people to meet up and. Enjoy shops .bars . and Liverpool main club shop
Little more than a passageway after the revamp. The few stores there are good tho.
Has a few ok shops but St John's is better
Very handy 4 All sorts of things
Not much in clayton sq except for boots and body care which I love
Beautiful especially during Christmas ❤️
Lots of good shops and a place to rest a while
Wen im in liverpool hi allways go in here to have a look in all the shops and get sum nice stuff..
Met Isis there and they converted me to fish and chips
Lots of shops to look around
Love all the street artists and atmosphere of the place.
A good little shopping area!!!!!
There not so much shops
Great selection of shops. Parking nearby lower rates at weekends.
Ever since they 're-styled' the square, it has lost it's character
Didn't really get into the shopping centre - just Boots optician.
Very good need to sort the market out to what it was
Good shopping centre got everything you need
Changed a lot. Not many shops now
Great more shops to suit Al needs
Lots of happy memories here 😊
Was busy but friendly happy people everywhere
Liverpool in general offers a grest shopping experience, Clayton Square part of this. Great place
Went to the pharmacy in boots was pretty busy had my meds in less than 15mins
Lost a couple of stars since it was down sized and we lost the upper floor along with its character.😒
Some nice seating and access to a good range of shops.
Some shop's worth a visit and some not.
Great shops, new steps, well thought out area
Not much there know, mainly just Boots
Very nice since the regeneration fewer shops though
Usual day out can be more relaxing by having lunch around Clayton square. But do watch out for the seagulls.
Good day shopping nice weather lovely day today
Fine 👍
Fairly good selection of shops.
Plenty of shop's and cafes. Clean and tidy.
Cool
Centralized location and accessibility to most visited places in Liverpool.. It is mainly a shopping center.
Not bad. Small shopping centre
Much improved since the refurbishment now light and airy.
Was nice to walk around and would recommend visiting Liverpool,
I love Clayton square plenty of little shops under one roof
Excellent shops great prices
All shopping in Liverpool is good.
OK, good place to arrange meet.
Clean centre , no beggers, good shop selection , good accses points for all .
Great place good shops good day out shopping
Just wanted to shop til i dropped here
Useful little centre
Good shopping.
Closed the good shops, still boota is there which is good.
Kinda lost its uniqueness and quirkiness since its been redeveloped
Always great shopping
Boots there is huge and great for sales!
Nice place and the outdoor shop the best
Plenty of shops here, in a nice part of the city centre.
Ideal for shopping and meal as they are all gathered in walking distance 👍💝🍹
Nice
I mainly go to clas ohlsen there, It's good shopping.
Good spot for a coffee and a rummage round the shops.
Located in the city center, bright and clean.
Woo hoo great place lots to view.
Great products
Some good shops here.plenty of sales going on
Busy square, food and drink available. Decent retail shops. Tidy.
I don't like shopping, although I appreciate this indoor centre and market as, additional to chain stores, it has some independent shops and stalls. Easy to access via public transport. Good disabled access, toilets and lifts. Food court, although mostly big name. Independent eateries abound in Liverpool so try them before settling for the golden arches, which are ubiquitous.
Vast range of shops
Nice and bright but beware with bags and purses
It's in the heart of Liverpool town centre there are shops places to eat a theatre and plenty of transport
Great shopping Center for all your shopping needs.
Nice atmosphere. Could be better stores.
Too much information to put in writing. A MUST SEE PLACE EXCELLENT.
A good place to visit.
Some nice stores and popular high street names.
I love the music
Clean tidy easy to locate were you want
Everything you need for Christmas with a great atmosphere
Lots of nice shops all what you need.
Ok but not as good as used to be less shops.
Various shops to visit and all within walking distance
Nice one and big
Good shopping most brands can be found here
Not one of the best shopping places in liverpool but not a bad place to check out and make your own decision
Brilliant always great humour in LIVERPOOL
Easy to get lost in the shops soo many lol
Great downtown shopping and restaurants. A hopping place in the evening!
Nice shopping area, clean, lovely shops
Clayton square seems like a convoluted version of buying stuff on Amazon
I love this city. Always have. Always will.
A great variety of stores to shop in.
Visited Boots in Clayton Square. Excellent service, from placing the order on line and collecting it.
😊 Amazing place, lovely people xxx
Wild wood restaurant. Not big portions. Expensive drinks.
Another place you need a good credit card for
It's a shopping center not much more to say about it
A small indoor shopping center, the biggest store being a Boots super store, and a busy Costa coffee house.
A gate way to Liverpool One.
Has a water feature which children love.
Shop was a little bit smelly, unsure when smelt od damp.
Another great place in a great city..
Interesting, big and small retailers. Busy, busy, busy...
Ok I suppose. Has a Waitrose so must be middle class.
Great iconic Liverpool city centre bar and restaurant livly area
Only seem to use as a walk through. Only shop at Boots
Some good shops but not the most inspiring shopping mall
It's a square right in the centre of the city of Liverpool. Has a lot of shops, like Boots and many others.
Great life here, lot of shops for great prizes
Nothing wrong with the place really but it feels empty
Visit Timsons when I go here, staff ate friendly and helpful
Nice shops friendly staff
There isn't really enough here for a review. It's basically a thoroughfare, with Boots, Bodycare and B&M
Lovely place to grab a Costa coffee and relax
All your shopping under one roof enjoy
Not much there to be honest apart from Boots - pity really when you think how it was when it 1st opened - Liverpool 1 taken over!
Useful cut-through from station to city centre
Handy if you are jumping on a train and need a couple of things
A small shopping centre with limited selection of shops. Smaller boutique style shops rather than large stores.
Good variety of pubs clubs and eating houses.
Working here not a bad place
Excellent shopping plenty of choice
Empty shops even clas olsen is closing.
One way system for shoppers. Decorating seasonally for Christmas 🥰
A Good Place to go to for all your Needs
Not a lot to comment on, better at night when lit up.
Nice day in Liverpool & people here are the best, not just in UK...YNWA
It’s nice place
Great place to do all of your shopping. Clean and wheelchair accessible.
Lovely shopping centre. The best I have been to in a long time and it's nice to see good shopping inter city without boarded up shops and lots of dirt. Shame so many homeless people there. Sad sign of our times I'm afraid.
I never shop in her but sometimes walk through and since he refurbishment t the place has vastly improved. Now most of the premises are only accessible from the public highway which is quite unique. There are a small number of eateries there as well along with a number of discount stores.
Really good for shopping in town centre of Liverpool. iwas there to meet my family for a meal above Boots in the pan America restaurant and all you can eat buffet lunch for £8;99 per head always a good choice if your hungry and like Chinese food lots of choices for everyone cheaper price for children
Good shopping centre in a great city
Standard shopping centre, remember when it had more shops in it
This is a clean and well kept shopping area. With helpful staff who, if they can't answer your questions, will sign post you in the right direction.
Great shopping centre good choice of goods. Recommended .
A few places that make Clayton sq worth a visit... the big boots store, the fruit and veg barrow just outside (real friendly and their selection just the best) there is also a vendor inside that sells bags/purses etc... And they are amazeballs and super affordable! Oh and there is a Costa which is my personal fave being a coffee addict 😉
I have always loved visiting here whenever I am at the city centre. Great place to walk among people, and it feels great shopping too. I went with my family this time!
Great hub for last minute travel necessities.
So good
Love going and doing shopping all the time
Good when there are bargains on fragrances and other accessories. Excellent with their prescriptions as they seem to be very busy and the medications are fresh and not nearly out of date. Their glasses frames and contact lenses are expensive as when I prescribed my contact lenses from there a few years back, they costed more than Specsavers.
Was ok nice place
Loved it in Liverpool plenty of shops cafes etc.
Tesco metro clayton sq.
I called in a few weeks ago for 3 items. A bottle of diet coke, a newspaper and a box of matches.
OMG at the desk the guy serving nearly had a total breakdown why you might well ask?
He didn't know what matches were never mind what they looked like
Good choice of shops
Nice place to walk. A lot of times can find some musicians playing in the street, and sometimes all the band with drumkit, electric guitars, electric bass, etc. It's also a good place to shopping. Can find almost all brands. Near of the Cavern.
I feel sorry for the homeless people in the area...but something needs to be done to help them off the streets. Otherwise a nice area.
Lots of great shops
A small smart mall containing Body Care store, entrance into the large Boots, cafe, a small store selling scarves, bandanas, hair accessories and a other interesting items reasonably priced, there are also stalls selling mobile phone covers and other items. There are customer toilets allocated next to the Boots store, where a flight of stairs lead to them....very, very clean, I had to commend one of the cleaners for her excellent work!!!
Good little shopping centre, I recommend going here👍
Always full of people 👭 👫
Clayton square is a little expensive and has designer shops , very small with just a few shops worth a stroll through but would not recommend if your looking for bargains or value for money
They have a very wide range of food with a lot of delicious deserts, but on weekends you have a limited time for eating there.
The Globe is a compact, friendly, welcoming city centre pub with a great range of ales. Always someone wishing to chat.
It's my favourite cut through to both Central Station & The Globe bar.
It also has a really good vape stand inside.
Very good. One of the best Shopping centres all over the UK. I love this place.
Bit crowded today but nice shops.
You can find almost everything you need here.
The old town shopping centre, easy to get to all major shop's and LV 1 shopping centre.
Good selection of boutique stores and outlets across the larger complex - there are a couple of floors and entrances, so be careful not to think that the main cut-through from Central Station shows you all that there is here :)
Love the place should have a bigger market like year's ago gold mine
Recently been done up and does look nice but hardly ever use for anything other than Boots. Needs more shops.
Clean. Light and airy. A pleasure to walk through the shops in Clayton square. Everything is easy to find, even if you don't buy, nice to walk round in. Recommend a visit.
The lamb kabab was lovely, good price on the menu, very clean and we had a great meal pizza ,chips, chicken kabab, we'll worth every penny, our family will be back at this take away
Nice complex of shops, food and entertainment. Everything in open space. Maybe is not enaugh site maps, and information where is what. Searching for baby changing facilities was quite tricky. Place was clean and well maintained. But some improvements will be nice.
Not as big as it used to be and only really use the Costa and Class Ohlson on occasion. Mainly walk through there to get to Bold Street but its clean and bright, looks more modern than it used to.
Only came to get a new phone. Very quiet.
I wouldn't really call it a 'shopping centre' it's essentially a covered corridor with a whole wall devoted to an entrance to Boots. Theres a sky TV stall there permenantly and someone selling little wooden letters for making your name.
Loads of good places to go. If you want good, cheap food and drink The Hatch is your place! The house rosè is lovely!
Very lively and full of people , once again
Liverpool has changed loads of shops now Clayton square church Street it's not far from Ellesmere port just a bus ride the met quarter everywhere bright and vibrant I will be visiting it more
Sadly this shopping area is probably suffering from the impact of the Liverpool One shopping area such as some empty units and upstairs has now gone. This was a nice place in its day. Planners got it wrong of they thought L1 would not impact this shopping areas. main stores are Boots and Clas Olson which area good for what they are.
Great place lots of things to do eat drink and have fun in a well policed atmosphere
Not to buzzy plenty of shop's open
Its gotten alot smaller over the years with far less stores than it used to have. Never really a must visit place on my trips into town anymore. Clas ohlson is really the only reason i visit now.
Great assortment of shops and streets leading off to even more shopping experiences. 👀
Has a very large Boots and it's just by Central Station so handy for the train. I shop here alot. It's changed alot over the years but still going strong.
I visited Boots, just wanted the essentials. It wasn't too busy.
Decent open space with good selection of cafes bars pubs and nearby mainline shops it's great fun for kids when the fountain is on
Clean area, quite well kept. Seems to be used more as a passageway to other shops rather than an individual shopping centre. Shops are pleasant and clean with friendly staff
Houses Boots, B&M, Costa.
Absolutely amazing food great atmosphere staff very welcoming very clean an so many choices of food we will definitely going back
Hard to say for you guys to tell you this but it is a good place to me. When you leave, You see the radio city tower which I know you guys like, so if you want to go there from Liverpool central. You can just walk through this shopping centre
was really good at one time, now a large boots, class plan, and an easy gym, Costa coffee, that's it, a lot has closed down. well... most of it has
Simply said, if you can't find what you want in Clayton Square, you don't need it!
Well laid out and with a spacious feel, you can literally shop 'till you drop here.
Highly recommended x
A good range of shops and in the Christmas atmosphere felt great
This shopping centre is a shadow of its former self having lost it's top floor of shops. This is just like a corridor of shops . So different from our last visit.
Why does this place constantly smell like a mixture of cigarettes and sick?! Ruins the entire shopping experience. It is in dire need of being kept clean.
Once a large shopping mall, the interior of Clayton Square was downgraded in recent years and now serves as a passageway for incoming shoppers, tourists and workers alike, entering the city centre by train via nearby Central Station.
It managed to keep most of its high-earning stores, however, including Boots and the city centres only Clas Ohlson. They even managed to gain a Costa Coffee that features outside seating.
The renovation only affected the interior layout of Clayton Square, however, and exterior shops include Maplin, EE and the Carphone Warehouse, as well as many others situated around the periphery of the large building.
New B&Ms. Clean, well stocked. Friendly staff.
Great selection of retailers in the heart of the city. Close to all public transport links with lots of eateries and coffee shops as well
Nice haircut
Lovely 😜
Not nearly as big as it used to be, but the shops are decent if few, clas ohlson is good for finding bits that aren't easy to get elsewhere
Its okay, kinda just use it for coffee and staying out of the rain. Annoys me when they shut because it's effort to walk around it to get to the train station on the other side.
Some big names and useful stores are still here although it has almost become lifeless a lot of the time and it has only gotten worse as time has gone by.
It is a very clean store plenty of space to keep 2 metres apart. Staff always very helpful and pleasant.
