Reviews of Kirkby Shopping Centre
I. B.
These shopping centres are so much on the decline with people now shopping online but it was really enjoyable to be able to walk around the market and prowse. Even the busker was carrying a good tune. Good stuff 👏 👍
W. K.
Some of the small market holders werent open (mondays)
But its got what you might want.
Food shops Morrisons.
Cafes few clothes outlets and birthday card shops etc.
Same in every smaller town area.
Quaint and clean people are very friendly and helpful here.....
B.
The traffic doesn't flow through the carpark very well you can end up in a queue very quickly very inconvenient -- The shops however are very well stocked although in Morrisons it's hard to find a member of staff to get advice
J. G.
Good selection of stalls, selling value for money products
Brilliant stall holders both friendly and knowledgeable
S. D.
It's OK, could do with more shopping retailers and also some fun things like bowling or cinema.
J. R. (.
It's getting better. After years of underfunding there is now a sense of Kirkby coming back to life. Worth a visit.
L. O. L.
Love this shop recommend to all my friends and family reasonable prices let you pay off to love this shop. There is The three metre high steel elephant stands on a Viking longboat which is over 11 metres long.
C. M.
Always worth a look. Never know what you might find. And home to the best barbers in the city
F. T.
Kirby Shopping centre is currently being expanded. You can still make use of the current operational area of the shopping centre. Not alot of exciting shops to choose from, just the basic Iceland, Cooperative, Poundland etc. You can also find phone shops, MacDonald and charity shops nearby.
Be careful not to use the paid parking as its just next to a free car park. Just double check so you don't get a parking ticket.
Picture of Passion of Christ event attached
A. B.
It's OK getting a few more shops now even if there is still some empty units.
j. v.
Great place to shop there's all different shops can find anything you want up there
M. B.
Little gem -traditional Irish themed pub good atmosphere
s. 9.
It was OK lived in Kirkby my whole life the new home bargains and morrisons has really give life to Kirkby
J. N.
We waited a long long time but now it's finally here it's well worth the wait.
E. T.
Needs more retailers to really make shopping a good experience
s. m.
dimmly lit too many kids on bikes making people feel insecure
T. M.
Improved a lot since last year..still a lot to be done
M. C.
Convenient local shops.
S. w.
Need rent reviewing too many empty shops
L. S.
Kirby blinds is the best place to go for and on the day replacements, xx so cheap xx and excellent service whent on Thursday, going again with my mum who needs new blinds excellent service...
J. P.
Not quite a 5☆ rating as there is a lot of shops closed. The shops that are open have very little footfall. Some shops are not suitable for lots of customers as there isn't much room in the 1st place. No masks on, no distancing and nobody challenging!!
J. P.
A place where you can find pretty much everything.
M. M.
Great on a sunny day. Needs more life injected into it
May decline substantially once Morrison opens
N. M.
Would be nice to have toilets towards the bus station as well as those south of the market. Looking forward to Morissons store when it eventually opens.
E. I.
Nice place where all the shops are in one place
D. M.
Visited the other day, some nice shops.
M. W.
Good choice of stores, but not an attractive place to visit.
K. C.
People are friendly lots of shops and good bus routes to and from.
F. A.
Having a look at the plans for this place I can truly say this might be one of the best towns to shop after they complete
Morrison's, KFC, new high school , new retail stores , cinema , bars , restaurants, seems unbelievable but its happening. so give your town centre 5 stars.
f. k.
All ways liked kikby for shoping parade all way clean shop staff very helpful I live in norris green but I am in kirby 4 or 5 times a week love it
D. C.
Kirkby town centre was once the heart of Kirkby, now it's a sad shadow of former self. Too many shops shut, shops that have been in kirkby for years too sad.... Doing it up without all shops being filled is just waisted. The market now has more empty stalls than full and it's a waist. If you fill the stalls and shops without being charity or pound shops then Kirkby town centre could be great again
e. e.
It's OK, only went for card factory.
t. k.
Market with shop's centre and supermarket (morrisons)
L. J.
You get nice cups of tea in our area.we have the market. & hopefully when st: modem work is complete that it will be a better place to live with refurbishment of the town centre. The new bungalows, houses & other amenities will hope that all requirements will be met for a better life. Kirkby did need an up-to-date grade.
P. S.
Staff in all shops are helpful, good shops such as home bargains and B&M although many empty units. A lot of potential, and very clean and tidy, just in need of some more investment from larger retailers.
M. M.
Seems to be improving bit by bit
J. P.
Decent shops I suppose, sadly St Modwin has neglected to put any funding or effort and has only knocked down buildings so far. Hoping the 44million purchase of the land by the council will bring many great things.
J. “. L.
Can't wait for completion of the centre, needs more big shops.
Z. S.
The town centre has gone down the swany, used to be buzzing many years ago but not any more. The market is not what it used to be, many shops have closed due to the painful rates or gone into administration
J. K.
Honestly only was at the bustop! Sorry
E. W.
As far as small shopping centres go its not bad (3stars max) you can get a few bits done, card shop, travel shop, banking, a bite to eat, post office, the list goes on. The car parking is good here, there is a free parking section & a paying parking section. Kirby stopping centre has a market too for your typical market things. There isn't an actual super market close by to here which let's it down, an Iceland is all you'll find.
C. W.
Nice little shopping centre, you will always get a bargain here. X
J. S.
Great quite old fashioned market. Try the eye glasses man Wayne. You need to have your prescription. Offers a great selection at a reasonable price. Only downside is that the car park is restricted to 1 hour.
D. M.
So many closed units. The market is the best thing there now. St mowdens have butchered what was left of the town center with the promise of funding growth, a year at least behind schedule. The old in-shops has been demolished
T. Y.
Nice and clean shopping 🛍👌
i. c.
Great market get anything stall holders friendly needs a bit more mask wearing all round but recommended
t. w.
Kirkby needs a revamp. It needs to be transformed with more high street brands. To this end work is underway to establish a better platform for local businesses to thrive and boost visitor numbers and footfall. However, the work seems to be taking far too long. The opportunity for Kirkby to grow its Town Centre is upon us and it needs to maximise it's potential now.
K. M.
Currently being remodelled and updated with new shops and facilities such as a much needed Morrisons and a cinema. The market is good with plenty of butcher/fruit&veg traders - beauty parlour - cakes - painting/DIY - pet stall - fantastic fishmonger (Fleetwood lad!) - some have been trading here for over 40 years. Not much in the way of mens clothes/shoes though which is disappointing. Roll on the refurbishment!
D. P.
I really hope the town centre can become a vibrant place in the future. The lack of a big name supermarket for so many years as been awful . The loss of the Natwest bank has made banking at a branch near impossible , busy Blackbull with no parking is impractical . Anyway welcome to Morrisons ! Transport links are good and there is busy market too. Costa is a welcome addition . I hope that my next review will bring a higher star rating.
B. S.
Stuck in a time warp. Old familiar & comfortable place. Love the market cafe.
C. A.
Had a piece of chocolate gateau from the new homemade cake stall in the market absolutely fantastic an a coffee from kirkby Coffee best independent coffee place I've been to in a while
C. L.
It's clean but it's very quiet these days. I remember it being a bustling town centre when I was a kid. This is a real life impact of online shopping I guess.
E. T.
Love our towny. Small but everything is there.
l.
The stall that sells Kirkby sausages..they are genuinely the best
n. w.
Place is changing fast, soon have a morrisons store too.and KFC..
D. M.
Go there on a regular basis and always visit the guy in the market who sells sets of cushions and rugs, Some great colours and price to match, Recommended....
k. w.
To much building goin on causing traffic build up half town centre empty and other half messy and clutted
C. Y.
Best chip shop chips are sold here I would travel here everyday if I could for their chip shop chips
C. B. S.
Parking for farm foods very difficult b&m have their own car park to rear of building very accessible hardly any queue's
S. S.
Good shops cant wait until building works an new shops are open will get a 5 star then.
R. 7.
Not much going on in Kirkby anymore, but if you need a bargain shop you’re in luck
J. A.
I can do a full weekly shop and get everything I need, cheap and in walking distance to home. Friendly market stall holders who remember you each time.
A. H.
Plenty of places to buy cheep toiletries and cleaning products etc but not all shops are near parking areas so sometimes a bit of a treck with shopping in tow, you have to walk from one end to the other and back again. No decent supermarket.
C. O.
Plenty of amenities available, and more and more opening which is great to see
S. M.
Went to the resource centre to look for some old newspaper cuttings, but the people were friendly and the staff in the library and resource centre were first class.
C. H.
An OK place to shop, no main supermarket, no men's clothes shop. They have a beach and some arts and activities for children at weekends during the summer.
C. K.
A little bit dismal at this moment, not as many shops as there used to be. But in year or so a new shopping centre is being built. So it should be a lot better by then.
D. M.
It's not bad place for a few bits but needs updating badly
H. K.
There's nothing there. Everything keeps gettin shut down due to no customers. And new builds are taking forever. Only a few food shops and market left...
I. b. J.
It's common knowledge that "the Towny" has been in decline for years. More recently, however, the town centre has undergone a lot of beautification projects that have brought it up-to-date.
We do have a selection of shops here. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants, low budget womens clothing stores, betting offices and department and home shops like Home & Bargain and B&M.
We have a Costa, Wetherspoons, Gregg's, the Pound Cafe and a couple of chip shops. The most favoured chip shop would be the one by Kirkby Market.
The new market was part of the beautification and rejuvenation project. It's now a colourful labrynth of various clothing vendors, fresh food, furniture suppliers and more.
However, if you are in search of brand name clothing, any sort of men's clothing, mid range+ shops, I'd recommend going straight into Liverpool city centre.
h.
I come here around every week and it is great.
R. C.
Great place loads of potential dont normally come to kirkby but did pass through for a visit to specsavers opticians. Will be coming regularly when that morrisons finally gets the go ahead
B. W.
Small town still has all main shops you need to live Local butchers good cheap meat steaks bacon £5 lots of chip shops
J. V. D. C.
You can find here any goods you're in need of
R.
Its very cute, maybe add a boba shop for the summer!!
d. i. m.
Improved a lot.
C. G.
Love Kirkby market. Been goin for over 40 years. XxX
T. M.
Great place you can almost anything also we love to keep things local
j. H.
Got a good variety of shops and the towny looks nice as you walk through but not many eating in establishments apart from chippys and other takeaways
D. L.
Its a really good shopping centre were I go often for my weekly food shop and everything is good value for money with a lot of variety. Could do with more places to buy games and movies
m. s.
Not much here, pretty dirty area. But the area is being upgraded so the future looks good
B. C.
A bit sparse but hopefully with the new Morrison's opening it will brighten it up.
b. a. C.
Not a bad little shopping area but not very much there. A small market type place.
K. M.
This place is just heading towards another lock down, no social distancing, hardly anyone wearing mask
G. D. (.
If you like discounted food stores and pound stores then you're in for a treat. People are warm and friendly and make the place feel warm and welcoming for what it is.
G. S.
Fantastic place to shop with a large pick of shops to shop from very clean and tidy to shop with a full car park with wheel chair access to all shops

J. M.
Kirkby town centre has a small variety of shops from pound shops to sportswear shops. Overall there is room for improvement and this should come in the near future as there are plans for major developments by the owner St Modwens
C. B.
