Reviews of Duke of York Square
N. G.
Definitely worth a visit. So much to see. Great for shopping and plenty of places to eat.
D. K.
Beautiful place to shop, drink or eat, or just have a walk. A lot of people on Saturdays due to open market
A. D.
This is one of the nicest squares in London. It’s just off the main shopping road, Kings Road. On the weekend they have a local food market with stalls offering food from all over the world, including fresh oysters, cheese and meat.
It’s conveniently located next to one of the best galleries in town, the Saatchi Gallery and it’s surrounded by clothings shops and restaurants.
J. S.
Nice area with shops and restaurants and the Saatchi Gallery, just few minutes away from Sloane Square. On Saturday morning there is an outdoor farmers’ market. The area was the former home to the Duke of York's army barracks.
A. T.
Such a lovely and pleasant place to hang out. Nice shops and restaurants around. Love the Saturday market. Love having a coffee on a sunny day and chill around in the afternoon, also great place to meet friends and grab a bite.
D. H.
Duke of York Square is a lovely place for shopping, eating and spending some time in Chelsea. The shops and the restaurant are decorated beautifully, and there are always some art installations around.
A. G.
Great collection of fine restaurants and clothing shops.
M. B.
A beautiful space with so many small specialist shops with very stylish clothes and fashion accessories. Many nice restuarants. At the other end is the Saatchi gallery. Sloane Square underground very near.
P. G.
I was very relaxed in a busy area I just sat back and relaxed and the staff did all the hard work
K. U.
Very pretty shopping and dining space. We visited during Chelsea Flower Show and many shops were full of an array of beautiful blooms. Definitely recommend for girl's lunch out or date drinks.
S. K.
Quite a busy place , seating indoors and outside . The staff were excellent , a very popular place for meeting up with people . Saatchi galleries across from here . I recommend very highly ....
M. A.
Great place to stroll and relax with plenty of shops and restaurants.
J. L.
What a lovely gem of a shopping centre. There are a number of we'll known brand names there and some outdoor restaurants.
I don't want to share more because I want to keep this to myself 😉
J. V.
Yes it's nice area but goes with wealth for that part of London. Only reason I am giving it 5 Stars is because of Polpo-Venetian Restaurant which I recommend. Been there many times for lovely small dishes of wonderfully flavoursome food. Good selection of wine but need better selection of beer.
m.
A nice open shopping area in what used to be the Duke of York military barracks. The area has been redeveloped into a mix of indoor and outdoor cafes and restaurants as well as fine food market. Plenty of high end shopping and cafe here.
The main reason I was here is because Duke of York Square is also home to the Saatchi Gallery. So it's nice place to have lunch before or after visiting the gallery.
g. b.
lovely place at night in November, saw firework display for celebrating turning on the lights so a bonus.
Lots of places to eat and drink and not at a silly price
C. B.
Plenty of shops, cafés etc tucked between Sloane Square and the Saatchi Gallery. Pleasant environment on a Saturday afternoon.
J. B.
The Saatchi Gallery is always interesting. The National Army Museum nearby is also a must.
U. T.
Was here at the Cartier event 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Always fascinating exhibitions. Sadly coffe shop at the gallery is closed now, but there are plenty places around ❤️ Will visit again soon 🔜
P.s. Gallery is closed on Mon. Tue.
S. T.
If you are visiting King's Road, make sure you don't miss Duke of York Square. Lovely atmosphere you can get something to eat, a coffee, or go shopping.
G. R.
The Home of Saatchi & Saatchi Art Gallery near to Kings Road. A very large space over 4 Floors and always having a vast collect of Artworks of all sizes, massive to small. Frendly Staff and a great Gallery to visit when in London.
G. W.
An area in Chelsea with vibrant shops.
Alongside the square is the Saatchi gallery which has interesting exhibitions throughout the year. Currently a Treasures of Tutankhamun exhibition is running from November til May 2020. There is a chic restaurant alongsode galled the Gallery Mess.
H. A.
Nice square with different types of shops and cafes
R. A.
Great location near Sloane Square tube and the King's Road. Loads of good shops with the alternative offerings to the usual High Street fayre.
J. K.
Wonderful atmosphere, plenty and varied retail shops and restaurants. A place to see and be seen in the heart of Chelsea.
E. B.
Nice open place for shopping, drinks and food, there is all you want and a bit more!
J. B. T.
No matter what the British weather the Square is always a haven of buzz, brightness and the clink of coffee shops. Such a great variety of shops, too, indie & big brands.
Plus the restaurants are catered for outside seating (my fave) even if it is a little chilly.
A lovely stop if you're heading to the gallery.
K. B.
Lovely place, nice Christmas decorations. Beautiful coffee shops
s. w.
Great place to meet up and sit a while, but watch out for the rain. It really is good in sunny weather
F.
The place is a one stop shop. There are cafe and restaurants to dine in while shopping. Nearby are art gallery for the art lovers. Very simple yet elegant place for meeting friends. Sit back and relax. Good for weekenders. There are a lot of stores that are in sale. I love the SALE! ❤💖
J. G.
Great little Sq, and a brilliant Zara with the latest collections always, very friendly staff, the Cafe's and shop are good too, nice Variety
T. P.
This place is open shopping area. You can find delicious street and gourmet foods. There are many shopping brands. If you are lucky, you can listen to street music.
J. A.
Went to Saatchi gallery for King Tutankhamen exhibition. Really good, a bit expensive to visit. Very busy, plenty of elbowing to see exhibits. Quite a lot to see, probably takes about 2 hours. Well worth seeing as outside of Egypt you won't get to see so much. Go see it!
J. (.
Beautiful setting.
Love the lighting.
Great variety and service.
Great vibes
K.
Great area for a stroll or to pause for a coffee in the midst of some shopping. Lots of space for little ones to run around safely.
S. L.
Located on the Kings Road, a 5 minute stroll from Sloane Square tube station, the former home to the Duke of York’s army barracks offers a perfect traffic-free haven to rest, relax and feel far away from the hustle and bustle.
Duke of York Square offers an unrivalled range of international fashion, food and culture – with the iconic Saatchi Gallery at its heart.
G. L.
I discovered this pleasant gourmet food market only by chance. There is much on offer including a great variety of samples.
The "German Wholegrain Bakers Shop" is excellent as the woman was so helpful and knew so much about the produce that she sold.
I think due to the location of the market, many of the food options is very expensive such as £5 for one scotch egg.
R. G.
Clean, well laid out plenty alfresco seating, shopping options
N. Y.
It is in a perfect location to access by public transport. Duke of York Square Market is a great place to have street food. You can find any kind of food here: falafel, burgers, fish, chicken and duck. İ and my daughter ate duck sandwich with a lot of sauces and it was simply delicious; the cost of duck sandwich is £8; since it is so delicious, it is worth that price. İnstead of eating at the first place you see, I recommend to visit all the stands and then make a decision what to eat. No public toilet is available at this market place.
Z. S.
This is a very populsr place where you find few restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, and is beautifully decorated through out the year, depending on the occasions
A. G.
Went to a cute Lebanese tea house. They had blankets for all customers which was lovely as only outdoor dining was available at the time due to covid restrictions. I had the Lebanese hot chocolate with jasmine petals....it had a lovely unique flavour, but I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely go back again for seconds!
K. C.
A wonderful area to shop especially now with all the sales!!
A. A.
Very nice square, many shops
N. G.
What an experience whit the high end shops and decoration. Trendy area. King's Road.
S. M.
Fun place to eat and shop before going to the gallery
P.
Frequently something new is showcased. Loved these elephants for spring
R. G.
Have visited the square a couple of times recently wile at the Saatchi Gallery. Big open area with an out door sit down cafe next to it only a short walk from Sloane Square tube station. Does get used quite often by the local schools for out door activities so be warned you might be sharing with a bunch of screaming kids!
M. T.
Amazing square in Chelsea, London, near Sloan square tube station. Lots of different shops, cafes an restaurants. Saatchi Gallery is also there. Lots to do around, full of life, creative and art space. There is food market every Saturday 😊
M. E.
Missing the farmer's markets every Saturday but it's been a lovely place to sit chill out during the warm weather ☀️
N. H.
Lovely place definitely worth a visit beautiful Chrismas displays
J. J.
Had an evening of running training in a lovely setting at Duke of York Square. It has been far too long since I was last in this area and it was a reminder that I really should visit here more often. This area will look fabulous closer to Christmas. Next time a long slow walk along the Kings Road.
j. m.
Brilliant....... Had a meal in the Black Penny....... Superb and Manager/ Staff were excellent 👍👍👍
a. w.
Even though it is busy sitting having a coffee it was peaceful and you could still. Talk in peace
r. t.
Went to Saatchi for Tutankhamen exhibition. A lot of new things of beauty but be warned, go early, it was getting hideously busy as I was leaving at 11.30
A. C.
Nice place for shopping or having a coffee. Really peaceful.
S. M.
Had a great meal (and wines) in Manicomio restaurant. We were shown through to a delightful outside space to the rear which is glass covered. Great service. Would definately recommend.
M. Y.
Decent place to shop and to eat in the end 😉
S. M.
A lot of cafes and restaurants here
N. H.
Excellent stalls offering a wide variety of wonderful and different food and snacks. A great place to visit on a Saturday morning if it's not raining!
S. M.
Gorgeous Square, lovely shops. Loved it
B. B.
I always loved the Saturday farmers market here at Duke of York Square and evening during Covid-19 times they didn’t disappoint. Great idea to put the stalls around the garden, it looks great and people can actually eat on the grass.
Great food vendors as always. Definitely less stalls and less people but a lovely place to buy some stuff to eat home or just a nice lunch to eat while shopping down Kings road.
L. B.
Nice market,Great Arancini and Kielbasa....😂😂
C. S.

B. S. F. D.
Must visit place . I am there every Saturday, great shopping, food and vibe
Love it
D. M.
Actually is closed now but I am rating 5 stars, because this was memory of a lot of people. So they are important not the place. The place can be refurbished but people are the same and the history of people are different, this is the future.
I invest in the future with my positive coment. Awesom place, never give up, stay safe and rejoice in God, who can give you opportunity to rate next UK place. Your opinion is important, your dreams as well, God is on your side. Be blessed!
T. E. K.
I thought the place pleasant with an ample selection of shops , restaurants and street food stalls ..

N. R.
Had excellent Lebanese lunch with friends great service and fair prices
M. W.
Lovely fish stall run by Chris and Isaac, but a coffee place only adequate and overpriced.
B. D.
I love this Lebanese restaurant the service and food are excellent keep going back all the time
S. N.
I definitely recommend having a walk around.
As with all areas of London, do remain alert for any nuisances but the square itself is delightful and had security guards at the entrance.
J. S.
Love Duke of York square. So clean and well kept. Great shops. Especially like Free People
L. 1.
I would recommend going here on a saturday around midday. There is a market every week with food and drink. The oysters are amazing if that's your sort of thing. I always get the burger from this farm. They also have a fresh meat counter. Absolutely superb!!
M. C.
A range of high end stores and restaurants. Close by is a park where on Saturday's they hold an open air food market, with every thing from home made scotch eggs to oysters. Well worth a visit.
A. S.

T. W.
Loved the ambience and the variety of shops here.

There is a lot of activities going on there on a Saturday.. From the market to deferent shows... If u like buying fresh sourdough bread u should visit Breadwinner stand in Duke of York Market... And they also have great food from oysters to cakes and so on.. If u haven't visited... Give it a try.

J. S.
On a Saturday the best street market
G. P. M.
I love this square, you can while away an hour , put your feet up with a glass of vino and celebrate your success whilst imbuing the local ambiance, it is quality in a coffee cup! and a great place to sketch the scenery and imagine your work showing in the art galleries at Chelsea. Its about hunting and leaving bait>
D. H.
Great Christmas atmosphere, Chelsea pensioners singing carols, superb lighting, very festive, nice polite store staff, classy, as you'd expect but not look down the nose classy. Excellent food and bars, can't wait to go again.
T. L.
Visit on the weekend for fresh oysters
M. W.
Pleasant square with several reasonably priced cafes. We only went for coffee & a cake but it was lovely and considerably less than it would have been in Peter Jones over the road. Nice atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating
M. R.
Unusual, thought-provoking modern art. And it's free!
K. H.
Pretty shopping centre with some nice shops. Lots of outdoor seating for restaurants but felt crowded.

Whoever designed and developed this Square, he/she has done a marvellous job!
j. b.
Very nice especially on Saturday

Really lovely upmarket area. Lots of shops and eateries. We went to the King Tutankhamun exhibition at the Saatchi gallery which I would also recommend. Definitely want to go there again.
a. a.
Very nice open area with outdoor/indoor cafes and restaurants as well as fine food market. The Square offers great selection of fashion, food, beauty and culture. On one side there is King’s road with it charm and charming stores on both side of the street. On the other side you will find the beautiful Sloane Square and Sloane Street with gourmet restaurants and boutique shops.
P. P.
Great place to hang out at great coffee shops.
R. W.
Fast and friendly staff service was excellent, fantastic coffee and food
B. H.
It was lovely to find tables and chairs (not belonging to a restaurant) put out for people to meet up outside (socially distanced, obviously). A lovely place to meet at any time!
A. A.
The most friendly girl on the till today! She should get raise just for the attitude. Also one of my favourite Zara s.
K.
Sweet little square, had food huts around. Lovely place. You could sit down on the grass in designated areas. Loved it!
M. K.
One of my favorite places in London. Just next to saatchi gallery.... 😊 loving to be there.
L. A.
Such a shame most of the shops and restaurants are closed at the moment. I have always enjoyed coming here and will be back when we're allowed out again.
D. c.
Nice places to eat there
M. L.
One of the few very new developments in the heart of Chelsea using the sprawling land and facades of the former barracks to create pretty open multi use public spaces. There's a bunch of pleasant cafes and restaurants, some mainstream designer boutiques and a good quality food hall Partridge's. Best of all every Saturday is a small trader food market with dozens of individual speciality stalls and pop up kitchens doing a roaring trade from locals and clever tourists alike.
B. D.
Lively, good selection of shops and eating places, outside eating areas
G. H.
Nice ambiance, good selection of food and drink
S. N.
These elephants are the reason i went to King's Road. They are magnificent, made of a waste wood and i think now travelling around London.
a. w.
Chic shopping and eating square with a good Saturday market with some entertainment. Bit high end but good to watch the world go by whilst having some nice food and drink in a friendly atmosphere.
S. o.
Great, home of Partridges the minu version of Fortnum and Masons
R. L.
Lovely square with a fantastic market on weekends. It's next to a great lawn for you to eat and picnic on and when you're done head into the Saatchi gallery for some incredible exhibits.
k.
Great place in sloane Square bars restaurant and banks with great transport licks taxis buses tubes
D. S.
Lovely square near Saatchi gallery
N. Y.
A great food market here on a Saturday.
A. B.
Really good selection of retail stores and lovely food market on Saturdays
B. B.
Somewhat of a desperate attempt to make a shopping mall look like an olde-world parade of shops. Full of really, really overpriced tat with 80s-style designed lables on them. This is the place to come if you have other people's money to spend.
J.
Lovely street food, nice atmosphere sitting outside on the grass
J.
Lovely square with many great events such as Saturday good market with incredible stools from the best duck sandwich in London to foreign delicacies. They also have tennis games on big screens and really make good use of the space.
O. J.
A lovely area for shopping on the week or weekend. There is a good selection of shops and most are of a good size. There are also a lot of restaurants in the area. Weekend visits have the benefit of Chelsea food market, with lots of sweet and savoury options.
I. C.
Great place. We went there on a Sunday and there was a great farmers market selling a lot of very, very tasty things. We tried a paella, a gyros and some cakes (the cakes were amazing). The Saatchi gallery is close by and there are a lot of shops around.
G. M.
Small but very nice shopping area/open air shopping mall, very convenient to get to but not right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Given its size there are not many shops, but those that are there are pretty good, and so are the food and drink options.
J. D.
Pretty trendy place with Saatchi gallery nearly.
c. f.
Interesting place, lots of seating. Looked like quite high end shops outdoors eating area. Nice spot to stop for a while.
M. B.
Fantastic place to shop 😀
P.
A great square under good management by Cadogan who see that it's been continuously updated. There are large planting and seating areas across this rather hidden square and they're also arranging for climbing plants to grow up the walls soon... so it has a nice look to it now. I recommend checking out the cafe's on the square, there are some pretty decent places to meet in the area and of course check out the Saatchi Gallery and plain-croissants at partridges which (when they're fresh) are some of the best in London!
H. d. J.
A lot to see. Beautiful ship and a lot to see
f. j.
Very sophisticated, upmarket, posh and good location for photo opportunities
E. K.
Fantastic exhibition of tutankhamun artifacts
O. R.
At the weekends there is a food market. The majority of the products are a bit expensive, however you can get some nice food here. Nearby there is Saatchi Gallery, it is a free gallery so I highly recommend you to pop in even you do not fancy contemporary art.
S. K.
A really lovely square that has a nice farmers market on Saturdays. It's not like other markets in London, this one is quite fancy with smart people and their tiny dogs, sipping prosecco as they roam the stalls. It's really something else. The nice lawn, and the Saatchi Gallery next door make it a destination. Highly recommend.
L. d. M.
Beautiful Saturday Market, worth a visit. A variety of foods, nice coffee and snacks in the market food stalls and a beautiful park right in front of the Saatchi Gallery, which is also a must go. Be aware it gets crowded on the weekends.
A. S.
What's an amazing place in the middle of London Pimlico excellent food and service in the restaurant expect to pay as you do in London that still do value for money
V. F.
Nothing like a razzle around Duke of York Square. Great selection of shops in the middle price range plus Zara. Fun choice of cafes & restuarants. A really pleasant buzz.
R. F.
Busy little square to do shopping and to go to eat something..
s. z.
Really nice atmosphere. Very nice shops
f. r.
It's another new commercialized place that I wouldn't go to especially I do t think but it's handy if you're in the area with some nice restaurants and shops. Closes quite early though. Close to Sloane Square station and Saatchi Gallery. A nice area because it's like a piazza off the main King's Road traffic.
M. D.
The Top Farmers Market in London, it's a Foodies festival, my favourite is a Kent Grower, No Jokes, I'm serious, his Nuts are the best don't take my word for it, go to the Duke of York Square it's a Saturday Market, get there early, look around tastes before you buy, you'll be very surprised.
N. “. K.
If you love food markets then this is the place to be on Saturdays! This little market is full of smells of food from all over the world. From French, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian, Chinese, Japanese you name it you can probably find it there! There are also stalls that sell sweets, cheese and all sorts of nuts. Once you are done with the food, make sure to visit the Satchi gallery which is right next to it! A perfect day out
J. F.
Lovely location. Great atmosphere, FABULOUS Lebanese restaurant. Best staff EVER. Fabulous food, well priced, well worth a visit!
A. P.
Great place to spend time with friends. Shopping and good quality food.
p. c.
Service and, staff were excellent. Food bit pricey, however that's london.
M. D.
Great area to visit. Tutankhamen Exhibition on at Saatchi Museum. Had lunch at Partridge really good quality food and friendly staff.
A.
Great place to hang out for drinks, nibbles and fresh air
S. D.
Nice food market on today, not sure if it's regular but good. Guy singing had some talent, made for a good hour spent over lunch.
V. E.
Love the program and the service at the bar is amazing: one can order a bottle before the show and drink part of it and find it prepared for you at the intermission to finish! Wonderful
Nice theatre of course in terms of decor but not sure sonorisation is optimised but it could be me only ...
K. B.
Went to the Tutankhamen display. Very busy but very interesting. Was disappointed to pay £6 extra for the headphones when we'd already paid £35.
L. M.
There's a great market in the Duke of York Square. Small but very posh. Only the best champagne, cheese, cooked food etc. Then you can walk it off around the shops along the famous Kings Rd.
Z. B.
Great alternative if you want to shop at a few key places. Not insanely busy like Oxford St which is a bonus. Some interestingly dressed posh folk and their pooches.
d. j.
Nice place 👏👍🙂
G. L.
Lovely buzzing atmosphere...
A. F.
Nice and elegant space particularly nice during the night. With close restaurants and nice place to drink, is a really nice area to hang out with friends if you want to avoid the super crowded famous places.
S. H.
Chelsea at it’s best. A must in this part of London!
J. H.
Ate at Pulpo. Fabulous food. Great atmosphere and service. Highly recommend
M. M.
My first visit to Duke of York Square, we passed through it on our way to visit the Saatchi gallery to see the Tutankhamun exhibition. Wow, nice area, very nice shops, love it.
R. L.
Lovely place to relax especially when the weather is nice. It is very classy
S. L.
Lovely place to visit for coffee and food. great added touch is the blankets on the back of all the chairs. Only negative was it seemed under staffed
D. b.
I LOVE SHOPPING 🛍THIS PLACE HAVE A GREAT STANDARD OF GOOD QUALITY FOOD AND LOTS MOR
T. V.
Quiet today. Shops and cafes are closed. But Christmas decorations are shining. :)
R. L.
The food is very good and reasonably priced. Great location on the Kings Road. Particularly good when sun is shining and you can sit outside.
N. S.
Wonderful lively place with lots of beautiful shops and great restaurants just off the Kings Road. Oh, and you get a Street Food Market every Saturday, selling food from all over the World! Delicious!
K. O.
Super nice. Really good atmosphere and clean.
C. M.
Amazing shopping center in London always very busy and with many choices for shopping good staff and nice conditions!
C. H.
Nice and open space with coffee shops, restaurants and water fountains in and around it. On the weekend, there is market where you can get a lot of delicious food from the different stalls.
G. C.
Great place for an afternoon out with the family, lots of food stalls and frequent attractions, plus the Saatchi gallery is nearby if you're in an artsy mood.

Pleasant place to shop and dine.

With the Saatchi Gallery there, the lovely expanse of a green, great shops and a food market on Saturdays this is a lovely place to wander or just sit and watch the world go by
M. B.
Nice square slightly off the bitten track, so a little bit quieter than the main high street. Saatchi Galleries next door and a number of Coffee shops and nice restaurants to chose from.
S. B.

Set just off the King’s Road, this is a lovely quiet London shopping square. It has lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from as well as some notable retailers including Zara and Massimo Dutti. If you have some extra time, also pop into the Saatchi Gallery. It’s a 3 minute walk from Sloane Square tube!
J. H.
Nice shops and restaurants
K. M.
Nice upscale bar. Very central but not exactly on main Street, thus not crowded. It's perfect for a central pub not to be that crowded and be able to find a table any time.
T. M.
Lively place, plenty of seating in nice surroundings.
S. A.
Very lovely corner near Sloane Square to go with friends for shopping or have a nice lunch or tea

Full of historical implication, and in one of the best locations in London, the square offers a great variety of retail, restaurants, activity and even good locations to just chill-out. Worth a visit.

Nice food
J. D.
Great market for that part of town. Imagine a scaled down, Broadway or Borough market, food focused. More affluent traders. Only one toilet however, inside one of the local restaurants.
M. J.
Satchi gallery was amazing but the shops and eateries were expensive, excellent food court in Peter Jones department store further up the road
V. I.
Beside the Saatchi Galery this square has alot of shopping options.
There are bars and restaurants when you can relax from your shopping.
It's not that crowded and generally is a very relaxing and safe area.

Nicely kept space where you can find plenty of restaurants (and shops) - on Sundayw when I was here the place was extremelly crowded though so YMMV when trying to find a place to actually sit down and eat something (I couldn't, but you might attribute that to the weekend)
