Reviews of Columbia Road Flower Market
I came here just before Lunar New Year 2022 to find some kind of flowers that are typical for Lunar New Year in Vietnam: cherry blossoms, lily, etc. And I am so happy that I found them all. The atmosphere is so refreshing and joyful. The market only takes place on Sunday morning so make sure that you wake up early to avoid the crowds and find some bargains.
Such a great experience!!! Whenever you need a fresh sight and want to feel lively, this is the place! Nice rows of cafes selling bagels and croissants and coffee to have while admiring and shopping for plants and flowers. Prices are reasonable. Some shops do cash only so keep some with you.
This Columbia Road Flower Market is one of my favorite markets that I've visited so far. It runs on Sundays from 8am to around 3pm and gets quite busy. There are many stalls selling a variety of potted plants, and it's great to see so many dog owners enjoying the atmosphere. The lively scene is enhanced by buskers performing throughout the market. In addition to flowers, there are also cafes & small shops nearby selling floral-related products and decorations. The staff in the shops are friendly and welcoming.
Overall, it’s a fantastic place to visit on a weekend, and I highly recommend it!!
Such a charming and vibrant spot—beautiful flowers, cute plants, and a lovely atmosphere overall. Perfect for a Sunday stroll or picking up something green for your home.
Just be aware: it gets very crowded, especially late morning and early afternoon. If you’re not a fan of big crowds, try going early.
Still, totally worth a visit for the vibes and the blooms
In contrast to the popular opinion, it is way too busy on a Sunday (especially on a beautiful day) to fully enjoy the variety of plants on offer here. It was extremely packed last Sunday afternoon.
Best come as soon as they’re open to enjoy with a slower pace.
Super cute market with lots of beautiful flowers at really decent prices. There’s a café area on the other side of the flower stalls, but not many spots with lots of seating. Best to come in the morning right when it opens, way less crowded then!
Columbia Road Flower Market is such a vibrant and lively place! The street is filled with beautiful flowers, plants, and the energy of Locals.
It’s a great spot to stroll, soak in the atmosphere, and pick up fresh BLOOMS. Definitely worth visiting on a Sunday!
Always the best flowers and plants. My happy place. Get there early to get the best bunches but after midday you start to see some discounts. You can get a bouquet made from any bunches you see at some stalls.
The selection of the spring and summer blooms from this market is overwhelming. The prices are very competitive but the stalls in the middle rows offered the best bargains. Take your time to walk through all the stalls before your purchases. The ultimate bargains are durinh closing time.
I’m surprised I took so long to come to this Sunday morning/early afternoon flower market. It is quite busy, especially on nice days, but has a wide selection of flowers and house plants of varying sizes. Some booths are cash only, some do take contactless.
Literally then bet thing to do in London on a Sunday! The best hack is to go around 2pm because sellers reduce the price of all the flowers. I literally got 3 stems to white hydrangeas for £10!!!!
Good selection of flowers, especially if you’re looking for something particular. I used to go mid afternoon but it’s simply too busy. Around 10am is manageable.
Wonderful range of plants and flowers. Something for everyone at very reasonable prices. Very busy but all the florists were patient and friendly
Great way to spend Sunday morning. The earlier the better as it gets busy from 11.30 onwards. Amazing prices
A flower market is a place where fresh flowers, plants, and related items are bought and sold. These markets are often vibrant and full of color, with a variety of flowers available for different occasions. One of famous flower market is “London’s Columbia Road Flower Market” thats the one 🥰
Columbia Road Flower Market: My Sunday Obsession (and Yours Soon, Too)
Okay, I’m breaking my own rule by writing this because technically, I don’t want more people to know about Columbia Road Flower Market. It’s my hidden slice of heaven and I like it just the way it is—blooming, bustling, and beautifully underhyped. But here we are.
Every Sunday (yes, every single one—rain, shine, hangover or not), I find myself wandering down this dreamy, flower-filled street in East London. It’s a floral fantasy that hits you as soon as you turn the corner: scents of eucalyptus, roses, and fresh herbs mix with the hum of local banter and the occasional “Two for a fiver, love!”
It’s packed with locals, plant addicts, and the kind of people who know the difference between a peace lily and a pothos. You’ll spot the regulars—toting tote bags, clutching coffee cups, and pretending they don’t already have 26 plants at home (I’m currently at 30... not sorry).
Top Tip: Know what you're after and don't be shy to haggle. The vendors are lovely and often up for a deal, especially if you’re charming (or buying in bulk—I once scored a discount for getting 30 plants for my students at Christmas. Teachers, bring your lanyards!).
Getting there is a breeze: hop on the Overground to Hoxton or Shoreditch High Street and you’re a short, leafy walk away. Bonus points—it’s just around the corner from Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market, and all the Shoreditch brunch spots you’ll definitely accidentally end up in after dropping too much cash on lavender and succulents.
The market itself runs every Sunday from 8am-ish to around 3pm, though the early bird gets the best blooms (and avoids the shoulder-to-shoulder crowd). After your flower haul, grab a pastry from Pavilion Bakery, a fresh bagel from Beigel Shop on Brick Lane, or sip something strong from one of the tiny indie cafés dotted along Columbia Road.
And the best bit? It all feels good. Your money goes straight into the hands of people who live and breathe this stuff—no middlemen, no fluff, just pure petal power.
So yeah, Columbia Road Flower Market? It's not just a market. It's my weekly serotonin boost, my happy place, and hands-down the most magical spot in London.
But shhh… don’t tell too many people, yeah?

Definitely check this one out! Lots of beautiful greenery on Columbia Road alongside some pubs, eateries, and boutiques. There was also another market going on on a nearby block when I came last time which made the experience even more fun! It gets busy, especially when the market is closing, and this is when the plant sellers start calling out discounts and you get the best prices for the plants you want. Can be overwhelming navigating through the crowd but the energy in the area was just overwhelmingly joyful! I will be coming back and I definitely recommend!
Columbia Road Market, especially on a sunny day, is a delightful experience. The street comes alive with a vibrant array of flower stalls, offering everything from fresh-cut blooms to potted plants and exotic greenery. The scent of flowers fills the air, mingling with the lively chatter of shoppers and traders calling out their best deals.
Beyond the flowers, the market is lined with independent arts and crafts shops, each offering something unique—handmade ceramics, quirky home décor, vintage finds, and locally crafted jewelry. It’s a great spot to browse, whether you're looking for a gift or just enjoying the creativity on display.
Sundays are particularly busy, with crowds flocking in to soak up the atmosphere, but there’s always an abundance of flowers to go around. However, if you're planning to drive, be warned—parking nearby is a nightmare. The roads quickly fill up, and parking attendants are out in full force, diligently issuing tickets to anyone who risks it.
Overall, it’s a charming and colorful way to spend a Sunday morning—just best enjoyed on foot or by public transport!
What a lovely place this is! Also many cute little shops and cafes. On Sunday it is full of people and great atmosphere.
Columbia Road Flower Market is a lively, flower-filled street think fresh blooms, quirky shops, and an old man selling lemon ice cream on a sunny day. The road is not actually that long but cute enough.
Didn’t expect to be surprised by a flower market but I did! 🌷 you could essentially start seeing people carrying flowers and pots once you are in proximity of the market, and it was a clear sign that it was something amazing 🤩
Never had I been in a flower market that sports such crowds, with a good majority of people carrying bouquets and pots around! The scent of flowers also engulfed the entire street, making it superbly pleasant to shop around 👍🏻
Definitely a flower market not to be missed even if you aren’t there to buy flowers or plants!
Went on a Sunday morning around 11:30am, and it was pretty packed. Lots of selection for flowers and plants, especially in spring. Some places only take cash so be sure to keep some on hand. Super fun!!
It's my happy place that I love visiting 2 or times a year! Fantastic place to visit for indoor and outdoor plants at a really great value! There are really cute boutique home, kitchen ware, fashion stores, cafes and restaurants as well. It does get quite crowded so it isn't a place I would recommend bringing babies and small children. A must for plant lovers!💖💖💖👌👌👌
Sunday Flower Market.
Very characteristic.
You can find beautiful plants and flowers at a good price.
There is a special energy in the air...
On Sundays, if you arrive early in the morning before 10 am, a lot of colorful flowers!
Title: A Blooming Marvel at Columbia Road Flower Market - 5 Stars!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Columbia Road Flower Market, and it truly deserves a glowing five-star review. The market is a vibrant tapestry of colours and fragrances, offering an amazing selection of flowers, plants, and trees. Each vendor showcases their stunning blooms with such passion and expertise, creating an atmosphere that's both lively and inviting.
What sets this market apart is the authentic charm of the old-school vendors, each vying to win your business with friendly banter and unbeatable deals. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for their craft are evident, making the shopping experience not just enjoyable but memorable.
Whether you're a seasoned gardener or simply looking to brighten your home, Columbia Road Flower Market is a must-visit destination. The quality and variety are unparalleled, and the bustling, cheerful environment adds to the overall delight. Highly recommended for anyone in love with nature's beauty!
The best place in the city if you looking some flowers! Highly recommended
I visited the flower market at the weekend. It gets crowded around noon, but it's quieter around 10 am, making the morning a better time to visit.
The bouquets are reasonably priced and fresh. Additionally, you can enjoy tea, pastries, and find some souvenirs.
Columbia Road Flower Market is a real treat for the senses. A beautiful selection of flowers and plants to choose from and a lively atmosphere. Would recommend getting there early as it soon gets busy. Lined with wonderful independent shops, it makes for a great morning.
Great experience and wonderful market to purchase and view flowers, plants and much more!!
This is THE only place to shop for your houseplants, trees for your garden and cut flowers 💐. Open from 8am till around 4. TOP TIP, CASH IS KING HERE..although most do accept card payments. I cannot recommend this market enough, if you need it, they sell it!! Even open on todays storm tossed London.
Everytime if I have chance to come to London on Sunday, this Flower Market always takes my heart first. From roses to cottage flowers, leaves, exotic plants & seasonal flower plants, you all can find here with stunning quality. This market is an additional charm to the well-known London🎀 Bring cash is recommended as the Flower Sellers prefer 🥳
Columbia Road Flower Market is a visual feast with a wide variety of flowers to explore. As you stroll through the vibrant displays, don't forget to check out the charming shops lining the street. There are many antique stores, unique boutiques, and lovely cafés that add to the experience. The only downside is that the market itself is located on a relatively small street, so your visit may be shorter than expected. I wish the market extended over a longer route, but it's still a delightful spot to visit and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
such a lovely place filled with pretty plants for good prices, friendly sellers and generally a great atmosphere. definitely gets busy so would recommend going earlier!
The flower market at Columbia Road in London (Sundays only) is such a special place, a must if you are visiting a London. You will find of course beautiful flowers, lovely coffee shops, independent shops and lots of cute dogs. I do suggest go early to avoid the crowds or around 1pm to get fabulous discounts on gorgeous flowers.
So much selection. Flowers and plants are fresh and fairly priced. Go early, before 10am and the crowds show up so you can avoid the queue. Lovely pedestrian street and short stroll. Lined with the cutest and quaintest little coffee shops and delectable bakeries as well as a few nice restaurants nearby. What a treat for Sunday morning!
Going at close apparently nets you some decent discounts.
Just a brilliant place for 🌺🌹 or to browse and take in the atmosphere
Go right at the end 3/4 and you’ll find everyone doing great deals on plants and flowers. Most stalls take card but some still cash only so bring some change
If you love flowers, you have to go. Just so much fun and the flowers are super fresh. Little bakeries and coffee shops, too, and lots of people out with cute dogs. Go in the morning and you'll be smiling for the rest of the day.
Amazing walk on a Sunday afternoon to see different flower shops. Lots of selection of plants and flowers to choose from. Definitely a great bargain to be here for getting some lovely flowers. Totally recommend people to come if you are around East London Shoreditch area.
Lovely as ever. I definitely recommend Lupo's at the end for bagels and pastries. Traditional East End place with great prices. Doughnuts are huge!
