E. H.Honestly I adore Sushi, this place is perfectly situated upstairs in the Arndale which Is convenient, the staff are lovely and you can sometimes watch the chefs prep your meals and sushi for later it takeaways.
There's a choice of Booth or stool if you have back issues which I do and they've accommodated me twice.
You order your food only over an app which is quite limiting, if your phone dies or you don't have a newer model sadly it doesn't seem like you could eat here.
The menus have a fun variety but when it comes to sushi itself it's quite limited, you won't find eel or octopus, nothing extravagant. Just salmon, tuna, crab and veggies. Which is a let down.
But quality wise the food tastes clean, fresh and is enjoyable.
But sadly you'll find yourself spending up to £4-£5 for 3 pieces of sushi sometimes and honestly that ruins it a little, it's quite expensive for a place with such little offer, I'd only feel comfortable with that price if it was a popular sushi chef from Japan.
Its a fun experience if you don't mind spending a lot or having little options for sushi.
Their award system makes up for it only a little but they sneakily force you to buy 1 more dish just to get the 1 extra point needed to earn a free dish, which is very sneaky.
I'll still go, but it'll be rarely.
C. B.Great location in Manchester’s Arndale with the excitement of food been delivered by conveyor belt. Except the chefs have clearly got bored of the system so just hand deliver your food, service from the staff was absolutely shocking but the food was good. This was my first experience of YO! And potentially my last, it’s certainly not cheap and unfortunately the whole experience doesn’t match the price point or the possibility. Would I return to Yo!, probably not.

I loved my dish (beef teriyaki and rice), although it was smaller than what I expected. The firefly drink was nice too. I would definitely revisit the restaurant.

D. C.Love the post covid system. Only order what you want and can keep track of what you are spending. Really like the traffic light table system so it's easy to see when the light goes green it's your food. Food is quick but very tasty. Went at about 12 and it was quite quiet.

Unfortunately now you have to order through your phone once seated but still gets delivered on the conveyor belt. A. L.I've been a few times and always enjoyed myself here. Due to health and safety reasons, food is made to order. Unlike a few years ago where you could just take whatever off the conveyor belt. You order from your table - by scanning a QR code and you can pay via your phone. Your food will arrive fairly quickly after that. Don't worry if you can't order via your phone- they are able to take tour order manually. Be sure to pay straightaway. It means you can go afterwards- no waiting to pay. They are using a traffic light system to warn you when your food arrives etc. Your food will stop in front of you etc. I went for a Katsu Curry, fries and a coke. I believe this is a meal deal for £11.70.
J. C.Good food but the hygein standard was a little lacking (tables had soy sause stains and the edging looked dirty/broken). Also, did not have the full menu available, reason given was because it had been the bank holiday.

We’re not really fans of sushi, primarily the raw fish kind, and haven’t tried it in a while. However, as your tastebuds generally change every few years, we thought we had to give Yo! Sushi a shot as they had very kindly asked us to pop by to try out their Christmas options - Vegan nuggets enticed us. So, off we went to Yo! Sushi in Manchester Arndale and found a variety of items on offer. It’s one of those places where you can grab yourself a snack or a full meal, so it’s got something for everyone.
The uniqueness of Yo! Sushi is the belt that sends round lots of little dishes to entice you and hits a wide variety of your taste cravings. We tried a few items from the belt and ordered some off the main menu. The belt is all colour coded to indicate the price and the menu provides the pictures of what you’re getting, so you know what your dish should look like.
Off the belt, we got;
Yasai Rolls [£3.20] - Was expecting this to just be ok, but we were pleasantly surprised with the teriyaki & vegan mayo making this taste delicious
Cucumber Maki Rolls [£2.50] - Good, standard sushi item for those of us who aren’t adventurous with the raw fish options
From the mains;
Vegetable Gyoza [£3.20] - Right level of crunchy on the outside and then soft in the middle. This is perfect for that light starter to get you in the mood for eating
Mushroom Teriyaki Burger [£4] - The very nicely soft bao buns filled with warm mushrooms of the right texture and coated in teriyaki sauce. Loved this bite-sized, yet ever so filling scoff-able item
Yo! Fries [£3.20] - Who knew fries could be so exciting, and this was gorgeously tasting with the right amount of chilli and sauce and fries size. It was the kind of dish that you fight to get that last bit, which we did obviously :D
Vegan Christmas Festive Box [£8.50] - Vegan nuggets with chilli coated fries, sweetcorn and some salad making it a good, old meal combo (& perfect for those friends who like to stick to what they know)
We then went back to the belt for desserts of;
Chocolate Mochi [£4.70] - Looking at this, you expect it to be more truffle-like with a hard shell. And no, it was not with it’s gooey, squidgy, stretchy and chocolatey rice-made goodness. One of these was the right amount
Japanese Cheesecake [£5.20] - Fluffy cheesecake, need we say more
Dorayaki Pancake [£4.20] - This was nice, but the other two were more preferable for us. The raspberry coulis provided a nice tang
Next time we’re out shopping, and we fancy a quick, but hearty snack Yo! Sushi is now on our list of go-to places.
Recommended for: Mushroom, Chocolate Mochi, Yasai Sushi

M.i decided to give this restaurant a quick try when i wasn't very hungry, their dishes are generally way too expensive in comparison to other japanese or chinese takeaways on the streets but it's understandable because it's in a shopping mall and also a very well known brand, so bought a couple of chocolate mochis for around £4.00 as far as i can remember and they were too delicious and worth the money, maybe i will try their sushi platters and post about my experience here.

F. U.This is a great place to spend some time with friends and even to go alone for a snack. It has very comfortable and well positioned booths where you can order food to and even grab it from the sushi conveyor belt. It offers really good Japanese beer as well as other alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. And don't even think about skipping the dessert... 🍰
A. P. M.it's okay. not really much seats to fit a lot of people. Also, the drinks are kept in a much "public" and easily accessible area and as a result thieves can easily come and take away those drinks. I say that because the first time I went there, a group of people came in and tried to take away the drinks but luckily, a staff member stopped them. I guess they'll need to have that luck every time someone tried to steal things when paying customers are right there on the side. That didn't make me feel safe at all.

Although what made it 3 stars was the staff here, when dining I found that the waiters were not very polite, very blunt and did not smile once - it’s true that miserable service does ruin the experience.

It's one of the most enjoyable restaurants to eat out alone. I love the busyness and people who eat at Yo always seem to be smiling and having fun... It's not just a meal.
And of course we all love Blue Mondays!

S. B.Service and food generally excellent. Both times there was only one server handling orders and bills for the half of the restaurant I was in. The food is amazing but the wait time means you're more likely to be tempted to pick stuff of the conveyor whilst you wait for your bill which seems very deliberate.
Bottomless green tea is an absolute must though, so good. And the street food section is hands down my favourite bit even though it does come with a hefty wait, see above. The motchi are fantastic but £4 seems a bit high for what are essentially Japanese sweets.

However, I wasn't unhappy with the food. Went on a blue Monday when some of the dishes were on special, and so the prices were lower. Even so, £30 per person is daylight robbery!
Find and support a local Japanese restaurant instead.
R. T.Amazing place to get sushi and a real bargain with the eat out for longer promotion. Even without it, it's not too pricey. There's quite a few vegan options, one of which the katsu curry, way better than wagamama's. With the covid regulations you order and pay online, which is quite practical. Just a tip, the tap water is on the 'seasonings' section of the menu. I did not see it at first and regrettably got overpriced bottled water.

J.i always think i spent more than i have, so it's relieving to see the bill. the staff are super nice and friendly and the food is worth every penny. my only issues are thay the mochi seem pretty expensive (£4.50 for 2?? what????) and that there aren't enough booths at times but there's still a lot of seats at the bar if you don't mind possibly sitting next to a stranger, but other than that i have no other issue. would 100% recommend.

D. R.Decided to try this restaurant out as many friends had recommended it to me. I'm not a huge sushi lover, but I do enjoy it from time to time.
Essentially, small portions of sushi go around on a conveyor belt and you pick off whatever takes your fancy. Each bowl has a different colour which corresponds to a certain price. Because the portions are so small, though, it's really easy to rack up a pretty hefty bill by the end, so it's best to tally up the cost as you go.
The sushi itself has always been fresh and tasty in my experience; I've never had an issue. Just bear in mind that the wasabi sauce is SERIOUSLY hot. I was used to the tame supermarket stuff before I went here, and the stuff Yo! Sushi has blew my brains out!
Bottom line: if you're a fan of sushi it doesn't get much better than this.

O. N.I've visited this branch of Yo! a couple of times. Like all Yo! branches the food is excellent if a little bit pricey - especially their salmon sashimi and gyoza. There can be queues at times but I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get a seat.
I've always found the staff to be friendly and the service to be fast at this branch but it does seem a little bit dis-organized at times.
Yo! can be a bit expensive but they frequently do deals like Blue Monday where every plate is £2.50 and sometimes on Sundays or Thursdays they do an all you can eat for £20 offer which is a great way to try something new!

Like most Yo Sushi the quality is standard and designed to give people a fun sushi belt experience to share with friends or on your own for a quick snack.
The chefs in this particular Yo Sushi outlet kept scowling and arguing with each other which put me off my food somewhat.
There are better places to get sushi in Manchester but if you're in the area or doing a shop in the Arndale and fancy sushi then this is the place to go.

A. K.I usually come here if I've been shopping in town and am starting to get a bit hangry which is why I like that you can just take what you want from the belt as well as ordering hot dishes. On the flip side that means I usually end up eating more than I would but there's so much choice and the food is always good. I try something new each time I go but my absolute favorite dishes are Kaiso Salad and Beef Tataki.
J.Food good but bit grubby, needed cleaning better, table cutlery and serving plates.
k. 1.As a lover of sushi I find this place to be awesome. Nice vibe, can get a little costly if you like to eat as much as me but is well worth it.
