I've been using this tip for about 20 years, now I am getting on in years I sometimes struggle to unload and take up the ramp. When asking staff for help I get we can't help you because of covid 19, or I can't do any lifting with my bad back!.
On a recent visit a member of staff appeared next to me and without asking just started to unload the heavy items. He told me that he doesn't like to see anyone struggle.I was totally amazed and asked for his name.good work BRAD your a credit to the centre. By far the best member of staff, so i will look out for next time
T. B. B. M.Good local tip, helpful staff. Worth noting the large ramps up to the skips if you struggle with lifting carrying. Having said that the staff will help if needed.

F. T.It's fine it's on the doorstep. Iv been there every wk though in the past 3 months & iv never been offered any help & it's all heavy stuff as iv gutted my house . A friend recommend Heanor as the staff run out to help ? still not tried it myself. I'm getting a free workout I guess
T. “. H. F.The layout of being in a ring has it's advantages. However it lacks a guide on what is where when you enter. Currently it's rubble, garden waste, then (oils batteries and something else). The final section has a jumble of metal, electrical, general, wood wastes.
The staff are not a great deal of help, as they seem to presume you know what is classified as what. I was told to put a lighted tree (mainly made of plastic) into the metals bin, even when I said it was made of plastic. The operator took it off me when I questioned this decision, there maybe language barriers with some members of staff.
