Purchased a snake from them around 1,5 year ago and she came out as healthy, very mischievous danger noodle for a royal python! We love her so much. I you have ANY questions about exotic animals, feeding, housing and enrichment, feel free to ask. Staff is super friendly and well educated about animas and their welfare :) Other than that: fair prices, good stock, availability 7 days a week :)

No fish anymore, they used to be brilliant for fish, still have tanks, food etc for sale, I don't have a tank anymore though so doesn't affect me. Still a brilliant shop for everything else. Hoping they start to do a loyalty type card or summit for points 😁. They still have the dinosaurs which my kids keep asking me to buy 😂

Really nice pet store with pets kept in great condition. My only criticism would be that the rats probably find it stressful being in the same room as noisy birds (some birds being natural predators of rats) and also I disagreed with picking rats up by their tails they clearly didn't enjoy it, it is painful for the rat to hold them by what is essentially their spine (see google). Other than that it is a lovely pet store with great variety which was well worth the drive.

We went yesterday to look, and have to say the staff were so knowledgeable, and took the time to go through exactly what we need, and what they would suggest we get etc. The children were able to hold some of the different choices so they could be shown the best way to correctly handle them, and even if it was actually something they like. I've visited the store a few times now for tropical fish as well as my first Gecko! The gentleman who helped us was fantastic! He gave us all the information we needed and more! He explained the differences in care between the species, everything we need and best practices. This store is absolutely amazing and accommodating! I bought an axolotl and the whole set up. James was really helpful. He obviously knows what he’s talking about and can answer any question. All the staff are friendly and the shop itself is amazing. I could spend hours in there just mooching around and looking at all the animals they have. I didn’t know much about axolotls and I even ended up phoning the shop to ask questions about my tank set up and they were so helpful. I’d recommend this shop. Discovered this gem today. We only popped in for reptile live food. But couldn’t resist looking around. Amazing quality fish and reptiles. The dog loved the natural treats we got him, and the live food was very reasonably priced. It’ll be our regular for live food now we’ve moved into the area. They also had turtles, tortoises, snakes, frogs, beardies and more. Well worth a look

Covid rules apply, social distancing, shop is sectioned off, you have to wait if there are other customers in the department you want. Very helpful, friendly staff, place is clean and a very good choice of animals and products such as housing, food, other equipment.

Great shop overall, with what appeared to be knowledgable and friendly staff. One of the only pet shops stocking snake food in my immediate area at the minute. Although we left happy. The shop was far too overcrowded, with little or no assistance, as nobody knew who was serving who. To be fair to them, it was a lot to do with the customers, not listening. Huge store! Has plenty of choice in pet food, accessories and cages ect all fairly priced. The bird room upstairs is amazing. All the animal areas we saw and shop were clean and staff really knowledgeable. We came from Doncaster last minute and the staff were welcoming and extremely helpful even though it was towards the end of the day. I would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be returning.

Friendly staff, spacious shop and a car park close by. Bought three spiderlings, they gave me a choice on which spiderling I would like to have. This place is wonderful. The staff were helpful and friendly. A member of staff named Danny or Daniel helped me soooooo much. I took that knowledge home and my 2 bearded dragons are happier and I saw an instant reaction. The same goes for my crested gecko. I will be returning when I get paid for a strip uv light kit. I hate having to do this as I normally love this pet shop and could never normally fault the staff but on this occasion when I came into the shop over the weekend to pick a hamster the staff member that was "helping" us was very rude towards me she didn't have a face mask on and was blocking the front of the cage so I couldn't see the hamsters without sitting on her knee, so I said can I go around the front of the cage to look at them and she snapped at me , she snapped at me again shortly after for asking a question about long haired hamsters, at this point I snapped back it was a very uncomfortable feeling...... This being said we did buy a hamster and he is loving although I did feel rushed in to picking one by the way it looked rather than what I could see from its personality

Recently bought a crested gecko and starter kit for our daughter from here. Staff were very knowledgeable and offered good advice to us. There was no pressure to buy from them even though we did in the end. The staff had a much more friendly, approachable attitude and also better value for money compared to other local reptile/exotic shops. Would definitely recommend a visit to others.

Went in to get some bird food and asked questions about the care of a particular budgie I have and they asked loads of questions and was very knowledgeable and helped me loads. Unfortunately can't remember her name but she was from the birds section. She made me feel reassured I'm doing everything i can for my budgie. Will be going back again.

This is the only pet shop we will go to, Aaron in particular is absolutely incredible, let us hold all the reptiles we wanted, and you can tell the reptiles are handled very frequently, very clean, and good prices, we got both our gecko and our beardie from here, no problems at all, always gone out of their way in this shop, absolutely amazing people. We make the 40 min trip each way very happily, and will continue to.

Great Pet shop, I love that this pet shop has ethics and doesn't simply "sell" without thought. I love that they advise on tank sizes suitable for goldfish, this isn't often seen. The animals are cared for well by the staff and some of them really do appear to care, and I don't think it's fake. The amount of products available for each pet is amazing, especially for those interested in exotics.

A great place no matter what pet you have! Dog and cat treats for reasonable prices. They keep every reptile I can imagine along with everything you could need to get started on looking after one. The same goes for fish, birds, hamsters, mice and guinea-pigs! Even hedgehogs! Every animal in there is happy and cared for and my dog always enjoys any treats I pick up from there. Would definitely recommend going in here if you're looking for a pet, some supplies, or even just to have a look!

Went a few years ago to purchase a baby Bosc monitor, unfortunately it was sold ill and a week later it coughed up blood and died. However, I do not hold that against the store as it can be difficult to detect some illnesses in reptiles especially babies and they said that I could come back and choose whatever I wanted from the collection they had available. I chose a green iguana who is now 4 years old who came very healthy and is like my child, even though he turned out to be a male so sometimes throws temper tantrums 😂 he’s amazing and is doing very well! If I was not 2 hours away I’d visit your store.

I wasn't impressed. And I hope the issues have been addressed. When I visited the little fury animal side was super smelly. Really pungent ammonia smell. The poor birds where stressed. The monitor lizards enclosure was very dirty. With stagnant green water. So it obviously had been left a while. The reptiles looked well kept and the guy seems to be quite passionate about them. I just think there could be better care taken. A deep clean. And only have the animals if their keepers are really enthusiastic about them. If the staff aren't bothered then get new staff that love animals. My feedback is not to create hate but to address a few problems. I'd like to come back again but wouldn't if it was in the same state as before. I hate to see animals not looked after properly.

Urban Exotics was a brilliant place to visit. When you walk into the store, you have 3 options- Reptiles, Fish or mammals. With me being more of a reptile enthusiast.. I obviously had to check that section out first. When I was checking out what they had in stock, I was in awe. All vivariums/terrariums were super clean, very nicely designed to suit the animal within the enclosure and great variety to choose from. I also loved their bioactive display tanks. I can tell they’re huge fans of bioactivity due to their large range of tropical live plants. They also had many invertebrates from Mantids, Tarantulas, Scorpions and a Centipede. Definitely worth a visit if you’re an Invert enthusiast. I didn’t spend much time in the other departments because I’m not that interested in fish or mammals but everything seemed to be kept at an extremely good standard of care. And they had a HUGE range of fish tanks to choose from. What more can you ask for? I would feel confident in purchasing from this store. Overall, it’s a fantastic store. Staff, on all departments, are very knowledgeable. Great variety of animals and 100% worth a visit!

I always put fives stars but this time only three a member of staff tried to change me £7.95 for two Siamese algae eaters when it should be £5.90 until I said I think they are £2.95 I buy alot of frozen fish food and maybe a £150 in fish with having three tanks. I think now I will have to write a list and add the total up before paying for my items. The quality and advice is 100 possible and I've never checked prices for things I've got off you.
