Reviews of Templars Square
J.
Love the shopping centre .. always clean and the toilets are always checked ... Highly secured. I remember one day, I lost my wallet with everything on it but the security found it and gave it back to me and nothing was stolen
L. M.
Great for all you want shops, even if u went to browse. Got pondland, savers, Iceland, Wilkos, greggs etc and across the road a pet store, matalan, tk max, Costa and a gym...but saying that, a lot of the stores inside the centre have shut down like new look, peacocks etc so its a quiet and nice shopping centre but it looks like soon it will be redundant which is a shame....
O. C. C.
I enjoy shopping at this Square because it offers one a lot of varieties at an affordable price. The lively atmosphere and Oxford City Buses that connect almost every part of Oxford makes one's journey easy and memorable!
S. S.
Parking near the centre is difficult for disabled people, the centre is clean but nothing there really excited me to stay more than about 40 minutes. Don't think i will rush to go back again
E. M.
Co op, Card Factory and Wilko very good as none exist in central Oxford. Toilets well hidden at bottom of stairs to exit then sharp turn. Could do with a nice coffee shop preferably Pret. Very accessible from Gt Milton, Wheatley and Littleworth thanks to brilliant new 46 bus service. Viva Raymond Blanc
L. I.
Have been going to temples Square since I was little since I grew up in Oxford. Popped in there a couple of weeks ago to get passport photos done, so much has changed and so many shops have gone. Saying that, there are shops a plenty here for grocery shopping, clothes shopping and cafés and restaurants to get a drink or bite to eat. More shops over the road at the retail park too with plenty of free parking.
V. C.
Nice and spacious mall. As for the variety of shops, it could offer more IMHO.
C. O.
Great place for shopping, easy parking with access to the centre. Good variety of shops
A. H.
Very clean ,this place has a lot of potential but not sure why the centre management not able to attract big brands.Barclays Bank closed only Lloyd's bank operating and pist office.
M. R.
Local shopping centre lots of charity shops not a lot else
S. M.
Popped into Next to make a return. Didn't stay long enough to give an adequate review. Parking is expensive.
a. o.
Nice place with plenty shopping centre
S. T.
A good variety of shops; benches to sit on and relax a while.
I. C.
Lots of shops boarded up. Not a place I would hurry back to
K. W.
A nice little shopping centre with quite a few shops and some charity shops also.
K.
Go here often, Wilko, Iceland, WHSmith, Boswells, Pound Shop, B&M, Selec, Peacocks, Gregs, CEX, Game, Boswell's Café, 16-18College, Hair & Nails, Travel +many more outlets👍 Few Phone shops et al.SAD VODAFONE HAS LEFT THOUGH 😣
j. s.
Excellent shopping centre also security also the wonderful cleaning operatives
A. a.
Lovely place to spend time with family and friends good for shopping; all shops are at one place, convenient parking space
S. N.
Love the fact you get free music in the shopping complex. It's not too quiet and not too loud. Just right.
A. F.
One place for all your need.. Very good place roam around with your gang 😁😊
M. B.
It's a place l always go to and usually find the items l need, but it would be great to have something different to look around. I've heard the rents are high, this could be a reason why there are so many empty shops???!
F. S.
A lot of the shop units have closed down, & it all looks a bit sad now. On the plus side, there is Superdrug, Wilko, B & M, Iceland & Poundland, amongst others. There is a nice Café as well. There is ample parking that is cheap & free weekends & Bank Holidays. You wouldn't want to spend a whole day there shopping but it's ok for a quick look around. There is a Wetherspoons close by, within the complex, just hop on the escalator. Typical 'Spoons but who doesn't like a cheap drink & meal?!! I have eaten there a few times & every time the food has been really good. Better than some I have been to anyway!
J. D.
Medium sized shopping mall located in Oxford near Oxford University.
d. c.
Always nice and tidy with a good mix of shops
J. E.
We like to visit Templars Square with our regular visits to Oxford during the year.
Last visit just pre Xmas and a great display with value shops, good choice under cover plus adequate free parking with modern leading shopping choice imediately opposite.
With a wide public offering in one location plus good public transport what's not to like.
Well worth a visit.
B. T.
Good gental shopping center, layed out well with carpark availability
G. “. D. O. A.
Handy little precinct with lots of good value shops
t. h.
Haven't been here in years as moved out of area, think there's way too many food stands and charity shops here,
M. A. I. (.
You will get so many outlets here including ICELAND, BEAUTY SHOP, cheaper products and sports zone for kids too.
P. L.
Empty shops have appeared since the start of COVID.. charity shops instead.
a. j.
Today I went Templars square and my 1 year old baby was with me he was crying with hunger and I couldn't find place to feed him so I asked security guard who was walking around there is any place where I can breast feed my baby he took me to the office where they left room for me to breast feed my baby.
After when I left other security guard saw me and asked about baby how's he now?what happened to him?
I'm very thankful for those people's who helped me. That was my first good experience asking for help in any shopping mall. People who are working there are very helpful.
P. D.
Simple basic shopping centre, most shops you may need here, half decent, good Wetherspoons pub in far corner, "The William Morris". Comfortable and cheap, food is good to.
G. S.
A small, quiet shopping center lacks a good grocery food store
D. H.
Recommend Boswell's Cafe for a great sausage and egg bapp.
A. C.
Security officer Martin is very helpful and friendly.
A. J.
Its not too bad, needs better mix of shops, a few too many charity and hairdressers. Plus side cheap parking, the shops they do have are decent, the food stalls inside sell great value indian food and ive grown up eating it. Samosa chaat at one near poundland delicious , big portion.
P. B.
Visiting Westbridge Dental because my one tooth plate had snapped. The practice now offers all manner of fillers which I think is wrong. Dentists should not be offering these services.
Templar Square is rarely busy, always clean and the café bar in the centre is excellent.
J. R.
Loved it but not enough shops open
W. O.
Good shops like Savers, Pound land and Wilko. You can also find Iceland Drugstore. Clothes shops,Greggs. Barclays and Lloyd's bank
D. S.
Quite good selection of shops across the shopping area. Just Shame to see so many units are closed down and shuttered up. Hopefully be done new business appear in the empty units. At least dry and enclosed majority of area which makes big difference on wet and windy days. Lot of smaller stalls around which added charm to the area and often some good bargains to be bought.
Generally a good shopping experience with being flat and slopes where are needed allowing good access for wheelchairs and prams, etc. Also added bonus of shop mobility and a good car park at bottom end too which is cheap.
K. S.
More than hundred business are open 07:00 until 18:00
D. M.
You can varieties of shops selling items and co-working spaces here
T. M.
I went to Templars Square after about 15 years, I think. I remember parking my car in B&Q car park which was just across road but this time, I parked in the nearby car park which I only found by chance. It was in close proximity to the shops, plenty of parking space, well lit and very reasonably priced. The Templars Square itself was clean and bright and has the essential shops which was very convenient. I went there about 2pm and it was not very crowded which I quite liked and managed to buy whatever I needed in a relatively short time without traipsing too much.
All in all, I found it very convenient and a pleasant experience. Even managed to get a coffee at Boswells and relax there for a few minutes before leaving.
N. A.
Great range of shops. My local. Only a stone's throw from home.
L. I.
I love Templar square
M. A.
A lot of empty units and not many shoppers. Our first post COVID visit.
e. g.
Not many shops in this shopping center but the security are super friendly always keen to help. I will say very safe place and also clean.
n. P.
I used to love visiting here as a child when it had no roof. But the atmosphere has gone many cheap reasonable stores to shop if you are on budget or benefits then it suits the pockets and needs if you have children. Needs toilets at both ends of mall as can be a bit of a walk to a desperate child
S. L.
This shopping arcade boasts of a range of shops which will help in economical buys for the home. It also houses a wide range of stores to choose and compare from. After a day of heavy shopping you can relax and treat yourself to the Boswell cafe which is now offering refreshing summer drinks to accommodate the hot weather
l. a.
Templars Square looks nice and clean
Things are going on smoothly with many closed shops but not happy like before.
Well secured and safe with the covid 19 rules being observed.
Needs more shops to be opened as well as the general toilets.
I pray to God to eradicate the power of covid 19.
A. M.
All the cheap shops b and m poundland wilko
I. P.
So many different shops
C. B.
Small selection of shops and nothing exciting to see, pretty standard for fulfilling basic needs for the locals. Could do with a revamp.
M. P.
Great shopping Center, cheap car part what can you say every thing there
J. M.
Better than average shopping centre. No designer shops, just useful. Spotless toilets, nearby parking.
M. F.
Good clean shopping centre with a good selection of shops. Great choice of different restaurant/cafes, on several good bus routes which stop and pick up directly outside entrances, choice of 3 car parks, with John Allen centre straight across the road. ...spoilt for choice!
J. H.
This place is always spacious and clean. Has a lot of places that I need to visit regularly. I can’t wait to see what the regeneration project will actually look like. It’s a 10 minute walk from work and it is much easier for me to walk over to game for example and pick up a copy of the newest release and then head to CeX to see what bargains are to be had. All in all not a bad place.
T. P.
Good place to go in these difficult COVID times. Fair few shops open on the other end (Wilko, Iceland, Superdrug, WHSmith, etc) and moderately busy.
Savers is good value for toiletries and washing stuff. Wilko has all sorts of hardware stuff that it's hard to get in Cowley area (e.g. lightbulbs, decor, etc).
Use it lose it - well worth a visit.
C. B.
Sorry to say that this is one of the dying breeds of the modern day shopping centre due to retail parks.
The stores are ok however on the outskirts they cannot fill the units & the decline has started, its feeling very run down & need an uplift & reduction in rates to attract new shops to fill the empty units. It will be a great loss to the community when this gets sold off after being forced its hand.
J. L.
I go here about twice a month to stock up on good priced cleaning products, birthday cards and sometimes very reasonably priced clothes too etc.
Also some good clothes shops and homeware shops.
I had 2 heavy bags today & was struggling with them.
On my way out one of the staff (Darren) on the security & help desk, just happened to be passing & carried my heaviest bag to my car for me.
In NOT a OAP but he saw I was struggling & offered to help .
I had over shopped as usual there so I was very grateful.
Thanks Darren. 😇🙌.
A. L.
Nice place for all you need
R. A.
Busy shopping centre with some very nice cafes.
C. H.
The Templars Square shopping centre has many shops and is a great place for locals to collect groceries or lunch, however the whole place does seem dated, the place isn’t always kept super clean. And there can be some groups of school kids who walk around being disrespectful after school finishes. There are usually cool events that happen there sometimes but over the years they’ve become less consistent and less impressive
C. B.
Clean and friendly lots of new shops
M.
Good airy space. Plenty of shops with reasonably charged parking. Well worth a visit
A. F.
Conveniently located for last minute shopping
C. T.
Got some nice shirts from the charity shops.
S. H.
The bank I went into were very helpful and, the rest of the centre looked very clean and tidy.
j.
The Templars Square is sadly declining with stores closing and some shops are vacant most likely caused by excessive Oxford rates which are killing businesses throughout Oxford. There are still banks and places to eat but it's like it used to be.
J. K.
Good shopping centre, unlike previous years there is Wilko, Iceland, b&m and plenty of clothes shops, also banks and charity shops, fill your boots with all sorts including co op and post office, if you want it, you'll find it👍
A. D.
Ok as it's close for me but quite a few shops are now empty, I believe around 6! New life needs to be breathed into this shopping centre. It needs some special well known shops .
E.
This commercial center allows to local residents and students in university halls to do some food shopping and also meet new people than just their flatmates. Many supermarkets inside, however there are only a few "restaurants".
L. L.
Went to the baguette Bar Cowley Centre and it's always good service and reasonably priced
M. K.
A nice little place away from the busy town where you can find all the household items. Variety of shops around, some of which aren't available in town. Clothes, shoes, food and small to big household items all available.
L.
Templar square is the absolute perfect place for budget shopping! I go here very often for all types of shopping, including food and gifts. The reason it doesn't have a higher rating is because it is simply quite run down. It hasn't aged fantastically and it quite due for an update. Apart from that, it's a great place to shop.
M. M.
It's good shopping centre very handy its near my home. You get everything you need. Also it’s under one roof so you don’t get wet when raining.
A. A. J.
I am possibly the wrong person to ask...I find this particular place quite shabby looking and dated...the variety of shops is fair to middling, The whole square is In desperate need of a makeover. There are a few charity shops, a WH Smith,New Look, Wilkinsons, Poundshop, Greggs, Iceland, an overpriced CO OP etc...it is fairly wheel chair friendly and the public toilets are generally clean...So not the worst shopping experience...but much room for improvement
R. N.
A good selection of shops. Everything from poundland to Cex to Iceland. Its a smaller shopping center but its a good place to shop and the free WiFi is a plus
W. E.
I rarely visit here and it's usually very noisy, which the unnecessary high volume of not very soothing music doesn't help. It has a range of shops including Wilkos, Iceland, WHSmith, Co-Op and others, as well as a Wetherspoons. There is a good dental surgery which is my main reason for visiting from time to time.
M. K. (.
Here you can find a Barclays and Lloyds bank, hairdressers, beauty salons, Holland and Barratt, Co-op, dorothy perkins in the cooper,a post office in the co-op, gaming shops, card shops, boots, superdrug, WH Smith, B&M, supersavers, several phone repair shops, a dentist, and an excellent local opticians who give great service Ideal Eyes. In the centre there is a large cafe Boswells which does food and snacks etc. but nothing special about it. there is also a Gregg's outlet.
P. S.
Had a nice time the place that does ice cream and milk shakes . They do a great banana milk shake
T. C.
Brilliant place! Got everything you need and it's inside so always makes it better. Been going for last 25 years and my kids love it too.
O. T.
Middle of the road shopping centre. Good shops and tacky shops. Good amenities like banks loos and cafes. Some very 1980s type cafes are around there as well as up to date ones.
K. g.
I always find everything I need here, different than shopping in Oxford... & You can save a bit money... Fantastic!🤘
J. B.
Disappointed at wanting twin room but got a family room, child's lower bed not comfortable had some issues with it. But on the whole good staff ,meals in beefeater very good but breakfast not worth 9 pounds ,rooms spotless .weather is not helping.
j. b.
All the shops you need in place under one roof, clean with a lot of seating areas and, occasional attractions vintage cars on display and a bouncy castle for the kids, easy access for the disabled.
N. A.
Great place. Loads of amenities. 2 big car parks. Cheap and cheerful pay and display. You can't go wrong. Much cheaper then going into town. And now they got plans to expand.
B. k.
Great for trade ins, not that great for second hand consoles. Brought a switch lite from them once and it was cheaper to buy a new one from game.
R. W.
Small shopping centre but nice and clean there. Sad to see to many shops closed.
s. m.
Once known as cowley centre and still called this on public transport. This shopping centre began life more than 45 years ago when the area was also a centre of manufacture. This shopping centre acts as an excellent town centre for the people of the cowley region with a range of shops ranging from supermarkets and second hand shops to travel agencies and jewelers. Major renovations were completed on the centre back in the 1990's and it remains in excellent condition and a pleasure to walk around. The main shopping centre closes at 6pm, but a number of eating and/or drinking establishments are located just outside of it.
D. H.
No where to buy a books mens clothing but you stay dry
T. D.
It's was lovely and clean plenty of shops and a great food Hall in the middle and it's safe for my 20 month old granddaughter to have a walk round Iove indoor shopping so good all round
A. W.
A much improved centre there are staff around to help and plenty of parking and all the shops are well laid out very clean and tidy you can also have a drink and some food there
J. C.
Adequate precinct that is admittedly showing its age. A few empty spaces here and there, but cannot fault the range of stores that are located here. Nice cafe too.
J. F.
Depends...shopping centre ok, but park in Sainsbury's car park not multistory, this has urine filled stairwells, drug addicts and even human excrement one day. Plenty of shops, cafe good and reasonable costs. As said..use Sainsbury's car park.
N. A.
Great place to come and shop. They have pretty much everything. Post office. Banks. Iceland, Co op. Wilkinson. 99p stores. Hairdresser. Barbers. BM bargains. Plus loads more.
n. A.
Always enjoy visiting this place got all you need under one roof.
P. J.
Good shopping location.
C. O.
Very large and open place great place to go shopping or simply do some food shopping they have places like boots wilko peacocks they often have stalls open and if you have a daughter clares is the place to go they have lots of nice items if you wish to purchase any as a gift for christmas pretty much just your average shopping centre
A. L.
Very empty and no one enforcing mask wearing and hand sanitising. Almost all the shops are closed or closing down. Very sad and serology place now.
b. b.
Various shops all under one roof with a large cafe centred in the middle lots of seating. Easy access exits entrances ATMs. situated next to a multi storey car park.also has a gym on the first floor.
J. C.
Has many retail shops including Sainsbury, Poundland, Halford, Asda, Matalan etc. Parking is quite convenient, but be warned, it is free only for 3 hours. I ended up paying 50 pounds for overstaying for half an hour.
a. s.
Good, well aired, public WC with cubicles closed for appropriate distancing also regularly cleaned
M. K.
I think it is a great little shopping centre - sad to see WHSmith go however
L. P.
plenty of shops so something for everyone. nice cafe in the middle to relax for a bit. the small milkshake place is really nice and the bubble cones are delicious
r. e.
Easy to find from the Oxford city centre. Take a bus No- 1or 5 for the Templars square shopping centre. It is all inside- doors at each entry/exit,warm also. I went to BHF shop.Shoezone.and William Morris pub for a coffee and cake. Spent about 3 hours there.
D. A.
Very spacey free parking with no return within 3 hours. It embraces several big stores and you can park your car if attending the Pure Gym
S. D. B.
Fairly fine with shops where you can get basic stuff such as cookware, groceries, clothes, furniture, banks and money transfer services, travel agencies, makeup dealers, pharmacy, electronic.
c. r.
Very pleasant with lots of popular shops.
S. s.
It's a one stop shop for me. Sainsbury, Poundland, tkmaxx, asda living and halfords. The only downside is the parking especially the spots are tight.
A. B.
Nice place, good shops lots of brands
G. H.
I had a lovely time there when I visited Oxford.
T. d.
Still a good shopping area , plenty of choice
J. K.
Great place to shop
J. H.
old tat shops. no designers shops. needs dragging out of the 70s.
J.
GOOD VARIETY OF SHOPS. THE Centre could do with improvements. Overall its good.
K. B.
Sometime I just go there to hang out the heating is great!!!!
I also spend money without planning to ..but besides the point it's really great place to be around people without interacting and you get two things at once!
I. P.
Is it half empty or half full? So many empty units. Boswell's was busy but my aren't things expensive.
T. K.
Just love popping over here all different shops and always come home with what I never went for lol. Nice airy and easy to get around
K. O.
Has some of the basic shops you need - Co-op, WH Smith, Holland and Barrett, Wilko. A few clothes shops of the cheap variety like Peacocks. Two many bargain shops though and there's a lack of cashpoints. Activities put on are quite dull and it's always full of Sky salesmen.
D. W.
excellent every shop you would ever need, pound shop, Iceland, video and electronics, and three charity shops, plenty places to eat, pub cafes, and take away, lots going on throughout the year, with special events.
S. L.
Parking good you have a great clothes shop and the other usual suspects, you can get coffee and light snacks ,easy to walk around or in a chair or scooter.
H. B.
I do like Cowley Centre. Even though it's named after the Knights Templar who weren't the friendliest of people. Could do with an update though. Looks run down. I thought the Entire lot could be moved to town and have Real affordable housing for the working families around there. Just a thought. (Only council made and council owned) No property dev. That's building all around Oxford. Taking advantage.
V. W.
Breakfast at Boswells Cafe in the centre of the square was well worth it!! Food wasn't fancy but was good and staff very friendly and quick. Service excellent. Will come here again.
A. M.
It is ok lots good products in value price👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
g. l.
Great experience and clean to
C. P.
Nice place to go shopping but not that fun and enjoyable, I see a lot of dull shops and great shops but with expensive prices. The food is nice and tasty but not that much love and precision into it.
x. l.
A really good shopping centre it's got everything essential u need to live
A. O. a.
Nice place. Need more shops
L. C.
Unlike Westgate has some of the basic/standard (pound stores, Wilko etc) high street
K. S.
Get there before 10 am otherwise parking is very difficult. The shop selections are split over the retail park and Templars Square precinct over the road. Chav's seem to flock to the place as everyone seems to wear jogging bottoms and smokes.
s. s.
I enjoyed the professional help with my hearing aids and then checked out some of the shops plus bought some car parts at Halfords.
S. P.
It is always clean and tidy when I have been in. Only draw back is no one uses the one way system.
F. M.
Try the food in Tampa Square Shopping Centre khairos halal food
V.
Not a bad little mall, very inviting & friendly atmosphere. Some of the residents are a bit strange, with the comment of 'welcome to Cowley' being added by a local.
S. B.
A big shopping arena with important shops and supermarkets. Sainsburys, Poundland, JD sports etc
A. y.
All enclosed. Beautiful glass roof sunshine can beam in. Four entrances around and parking plus bus stops very easy to reach and access good.
M. M.
Always find what I need here as there's a variety of shops. I go mainly for Greggs :)
M. O. c.
Not bad for a local shopping centre.. hot food and cafe as well as super markets. Pharmacy. Clothes and toys good ranges
E. S.
it's a nice little shopping centre but not the best, good selection of shops and you can also get something to eat.
m. n.
we love the Templars Square. shop a lot at Poundland . lunch at William.Fish & chips +chicken & chips are really good. on a raining wednesday. 17may. with covered parking .
M. Z.
It's always clean and secure since security officers are always around. There are some quite nice shops there.
Y. B.
Poundland has a great range of products at cheap prices
J. D. B.
Beautiful place to shop around.
Z. I.
Excellent place as your local shopping mall. It's has a dentist clinic, pharmacys , chirty shops and a variety number of supermarkets.
H. A.
George at ASDA, TK Max, Primark, Halfords, Sainsburys and a shoe shop plus others. Lots of parking always busy. Plus across the road from this is Templars Square with a variety of shopping.
W. J.
Only visit here for the dentists which is great, nice modern feel to the decor within the centre. Lots of shops to choose from. Hint: park in cowleys shopping centre which might save a couple of quid.
C.
Nice shops and very convenient but not as many shops anymore which is a shame
J. B.
Great place, a decent selection of shops but it could do with a bit more variety, over half the shops sell clothes
E. M.
There is everything you need there. Banks, charity shops, stores, salon, kids play area and many more
J. m.
It's a mall in Cowley. It is what it is. It has a Cex now, which is nice. Wilkinson are still there AFAIK. I don't really get out there much, except for CEX. Probably I'd go there more if I lived in Oxford itself, which is probably unlikely. I miss the south coast, and Templars Square makes me miss the Sovereign Centre in Boscombe. A LOT. And the Royal Arcade. They're my two favourite malls thus far in my tiny life. Clean, and adjoining as they do- almost holding hands, in fact. Cowley seems a mess and a noise compared to Boscombe. I guess it IS. Possibly after the Westgate revamp, Templars Square might get some attention to soruce it up a bit. It is looking pretty tired in places. Almost as tired as I feel being away from the sea and my friends. Or feeling like smiling. A grubby mall in Cowley. Could be nicer, I only went there rarely because GAME and CEX are there. But now... there doesn't seem to be a point.
T. “. B.
Car parking is not good needs CCTV
Terrible security don't feel safe when you leave your car
J. A.
Lots of different shops and places to sit down if you need a rest! At times they have entertainments in the square. Well worth a look.
R. A.
Nice place to shop and have a drink and meal
B. D.
I work in templars square and i am there most days either working or shopping or something to do brilliant range of shops but there are a few shops that i would love to see in the shopping centre but overall lovely shopping centre
S. H.
Its ok for indoor shopping staff in shops are polite easy place to get too
t. H.
Temple Square is a square mall located in Oxford Temple Cawley. The mall is a place that mainly attract the community near by frequently visited good shopping clothing ladies and boots chemist and the co-op resudturants and other shops are avaiy
M. W.
Nice range of shops. A little dated but wouldn't be without it!
P. T.
I absolutely love templar square, its a great place to shop and meet friends
C.
Good range of value shops all under one roof
T. D.
Templars Square is my local shopping centre, with a variety of different shops that I use weekly and would be missed very much missed if it was not there.
A. S.
Very nice place for you and the kids to visit.
v. f.
Great shopping centre.
Great costumers.
Great proffesional staff members
