Great service. I initially bought hearing aids from another provider and had nothing but problems. I hadn’t realised the importance of finding a good audiologist. It’s not simply a case of buying some hearing aids. The audiologist has to ‘program’ them. What a difference it makes when it’s done right! I now have fantastic natural sounding hearing which has made a huge difference to my quality of life. I would recommend Preston hearing care to anyone.

I booked an appointment here as it has been a long time since my ears were checked. The place itself is very relaxed when you come in, well furnished and comfortable. I was seen by Simon within 2 or 3 minutes of sitting down and he was very knowledgeable, confident and easy to talk to. Had a free ear test and it turns out my ears are fine but I needed wax removing from one of them. Simon was superb in talking though the process with me and ensuring I knew what was going to happen when. Was in and out within 30 minutes. Excellent service.

After receiving NHS hearing aids which are totally useless for my husbands condition my husband took some pursuading to go the the Hearing Centre. Had my first appointment here today 02/11/21. needed both ears syringing as is a regular thing I need doing every 2 years or so. My consultant Saminah was extremely professional and knew exactly what she was doing, even after all this time, having my ears done is not something I relish. Put me at ease straight away and had the job done within 20 minutes. I would have no hesitation in recommending this firm to sort your hearing /ear troubles out .

Simon and his Team at Preston Hearing Care Centre are just outstanding. From the moment I walked in through the door, I knew that I was in the right place. Everyone was very courteous and attentive. My mother was in complete denial that she needed hearing aids; she did not recognise all that she was missing by not hearing well. She also did not want new hearing aids as she believed she didn't need them or they wouldn't help. Simon tested her and from the test results he could visually see how profound her loss was. His patience with my mother was a heartwarming thing to see. Simon took all the necessary time to interact with her in a very respectful way. Now that she has had her aids for nearly a month and wears them all the time and she absolutely does not want to give them back. He’s transformed family life in our household after discovering both my husband and our eldest needed hearing aids … the words “eh”, “what”, “I didn’t hear you”, “can you say that again” are almost not muttered any more, what a relief for me and our youngest, not to mention not having the tv rattling our ears! Simon removed some wax from my ears recently. I frequently suffer from blocked ears, and this was the third time that Simon has looked after me. Although my ears weren't completely blocked on this occasion, the wax removal gave me peace of mind for flying and for swimming on holiday. So different from the "olden days" when I had to visit the GP surgery and wait weeks for an appointment to try to persuade a practice nurse that my ears really did need syringing! It's so good and reassuring to know that Simon will always deal with my ear problems promptly and professionally, and I would recommend the Centre to anyone.

I was somewhat apprehensive on arrival for my first appointment, but was soon put at ease by a warm welcome by an efficient individual staffing the Reception area. Not only is the "shop" easy on the eye, it's spotless throughout. Simon, the Audiologist, took trouble to talk through all my symptoms and concerns, including tinnitus and the fact I virtually "clock-off" in places where there is noise as my hearing is definitely affected these days. I was treated as an individual throughout and was also given detail on new technology available in a way which I was able to understand. My initial appointment included a comprehensive hearing test plus an explanation of the various hearing aids available and suitable for my needs. Simon was patient throughout and his caring attitude was very much appreciated. I selected hearing aids with Simon's help, and the following week, returned for a fitting and even more explanation. A couple of days later, I had a problem with wearing the new hearing aids, but I was slotted in to Simon's schedule immediately and without fuss. Problem solved, as it turned out to be a minor issue, which, was resolved instantly. I cannot speak highly enough of the service I received from Simon and staff, and yet another bonus is that parking is right outside the door.

Simon has transformed my mum’s life! For a couple of years my mum had stubbornly refused to invest in proper hearing aids. The free ones that she received from the NHS were so uncomfortable that they spent most of the time in her handbag! Taking her to see Simon at The Hearing Care Centre in Preston was without doubt one of the best family decisions we've made. He treated her in such a way that made her feel special enough to look forward to going to see him. Once fitted, feeling at ease straight away she has been wearing the aids all day. She can’t believe how many day-to-day sounds she had forgotten about, like the click of the indicator in her car, or birds singing in her garden. We don’t have to shout over the TV anymore and if she answers the phone, finally she can hear us again! So, for us, we have peace of mind that at nearly 80 years old, with reformed hearing, she is much safer again and can retain her independence. Even better, Simon and his team have given her the confidence to ring them anytime for advice and with free, easy parking outside the shop she can pop in anytime herself too. I recently visited Preston Hearing centre to enquire about having my ears syringed. I was offered a drink on arrival while waiting to be seen, almost immediately I was taken into the treatment room where Simon Bland explained the procedure to me and offered to syringe them there and then as there had been a cancelation. It was a completely pain free and clean procedure, and thankfully my hearing was restored back to normal. I was very impressed with the professional approach. I am a retired registered community nurse and have syringed many patients ears but I must say this method is a much better and quicker way, I will certainly be recommending Simon to my friends and family. I had a brief hearing test carried out whilst waiting for some glasses at Broadhursts with Simon. He informed me that I was not hearing well, yes I knew but didn't like to admit it, so I was scheduled in for further testing at the Garstang Road office. There I had further hearing tests and discussed with Simon the various options. Unitron Jump R - Rechargeable Hearing Aids The hearing aids are excellent in all ways and situations. I am hearing sounds I have not heard since before my hearing deteriorated. I have found the "Automatic" mode setting satisfy's every environment, having no need to use one of the other set modes. Apart from routine checks' I have had no cause to use the app. The rechargeable system is easy to use. Allowing up to 14 hours daily use. Mobile phone calling is easy and the streaming system for TV and phone sound is a superb and easy to use. Thank you for your excellent service. Highly recommended.

I can’t praise Preston Hearing Care Centre high enough. Id managed to book an appointment for the next day as I still had over two weeks to wait for my NHS appointment to syringe my ears, and the wax problems were causing me significant deafness and balance problems. I arrived slightly early and was booked in at reception by Saminah the practice manager who was friendly and efficient and provided me with a drink whilst I waited. I was seen very promptly by Simon, who was to perform the micro suction, and he explained the whole procedure thoroughly and put me at ease. I had micro suction on both ears, which were both full of wax, and it was virtually painless, and quite quick. It was certainly very preferable to syringing which I have had in the past. Its now about eight hours since my appointment and I can hear very clearly, and have had no recurrence of the vertigo since I left the clinic - which is a massive relief. I was also very impressed with the premises - both the decor and absolutely spotlessly clean and tidy.

I initially went for a "de waxing" suction treatment as my local health centre, who I must add are usually excellent, was unable to accommodate me for 3 weeks and almost complete deafness in one ear made that unacceptable. My initial impressions were very positive. I was given a warm and friendly greeting and after a very thorough and comprehensive briefing the procedure was carried out quickly and efficiently. I have used NHS hearing aids for some years and was well aware that they were, although the best available, not sufficiently sophisticated to address my very serious hearing loss and that should I wish to get anything better I would have to pay for the inevitably expensive technology. Armed with this knowledge I took advantage of the free hearing check which was offered. There followed a very extensive, informative and reassuring consultation and another a week later which included my wife as a sort of adjudicator. She found the whole thing quite amusing as it confirmed what she already knew, namely that I was almost as deaf as the proverbial post, We both agreed that I should go for the recommended hearing aids. At the time of writing I have only just had these fitted and am only now starting to get used to them so I cannot as yet report on how suitable they are for my needs, how robust, how user friendly etc. etc but with my experience thus far and my initial impressions of the devices, which gave an immediate and very notable improvement I am cautiously confident. The promised two follow up consultations where adjustments, fine tuning and even reprogramming are available give further reassurances that minor problems can be addressed very soon. That aside I can certainly as of now recommend the practice to anyone who is experiencing any form of problem for the reasons I already stated about the friendliness efficiency, and comprehensive information given and should hearing aids be recommended then the promised no quibble money back guarantee makes the purchase risk free.

Over the last few months Ged has visited my mum to fit her new digital Hearing aids. This was a big decision for mum to make initially, but Ged has been understanding and considerate and has taken time to listen to mum's needs. I was present on the initial visit to support mum who is a very independent and spritely 94 year old, and we were both impressed with Ged's professional attitude and extensive knowledge and efficiency. He has spent a considerable amount of time with mum, most recently this last week, as she list one of her Aids and unfortunately had to have a new one. The main issue here was the cost, but we both decided they're was little alternative but to find the money. . . She has now added her Aids to her home insurance policy! Ged spent a good couple of hours with her this week and replaced the dome in one of the Aids so it fitted her ear better. He also talked her through cleaning them to ensure they are working properly for her. Overall, an excellent, although expensive, experience for mum, which will improve her quality of life and self confidence enabling her to participate socially.
