I bought a pair of Merrill walking shoes in January which I kept for best as you do when they are new. Unfortunately I got caught out one day in torrential rain to find that there was nothing waterproof about them at all, even though they were gortex. I returned them to Cotswold and was greeted by the very friendly Anna who turned out to be the assistant store manager. She was so cheerful and helpful and sorted out my issue without any qualms. I was extremely grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to shop at Cotswold again. Thank you Anna.

Got some great outdoor bits here, lovely good quality coat & merrell walking boots, brooks running trainers & people were very helpful with gait analysis, Clothing is good quality. Only thing I suggest after witnessing someone shoplifting & seeing your staff put in a not great situation is security personel. It's a great preventative measure, it will get better.

Came to this Cotswold outdoor as my husband wanted to go to Runners Need which is inside the store to get new trainers and have gait analysis done. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and helped in making a decision on trainers, there are lots of other outdoor items for walking, hiking, camping, skiing and more.

Went to the Bournemouth store today to purchase some hiking gear for a multi day hike. Greta store, great staff and a great way to build ideas for the up and coming winter solo camping. I formative staff, happy and polite. We took the kids today and even though my very enquisitive nigh on 5 year old wanted to stand basically on a staff members hands while he was demonstrating various products to customers, there was still no issue from the staff. Great selection of products however this is a rather expensive store, not the outlet but the company itself. Great quality no arguments but research what you want and need and check the discount stands, some real bargains to be had.

Excellent customer service! Just bought a pair of Jack Wolfskin boots. Sales Assistant very helpful in asking what I was buying boots for, and recommending those that will last me ( I walk alot!). The guy who was in the boot section (sorry I never asked your name, short hair with glasses) was spot on with his recommendation with the Salomon Quest Prime GTX Mid boots. everything he said in terms of pros and cons was correct, clearly had intimate knowledge of what was on the shelves and really happy with what I walked out the store with. The man deserves some recognition at the very least, and I'll be upset if he didn't get a small bonus from it.

Unfortunately, I did find this shop a little bit overpriced and even a basic set of camping trousers was top end money. For similar quality of that you would find at somewhere like Mountain warehouse. The only saving grace is the wide and very well presented range of outdoor footwear so if you are looking to buy a decent pair of walking boots or just general outdoor boots this is a good place to go.

I went in to buy a waterproof agent for my camera bag, the assistant explained that it wouldn't work that well but if I were to use a dry sack - that would. Worth a try especially as it was cheaper anyway. Though I will have to get a waterproof agent for the Craghopper Jacket I purchased there in March. I liked the shop, I only wish I were 50 years younger again, this equipment wasn't available in the 1960's.

EXCELLENT SHOP, SUPERB STAFF!!! Wouldn't say I'm a "regular" at Cotswolds, it is my number 1 choice of outdoor shops though. What sets this brand apart from the others is their quality of product and the staff's level of knowledge, expertise and customer service - you won't find anywhere better! Arrived 9 min before closing today to buy my 1st pair of climbing shoes in over 20 years. The lad who served me had only been there for 4 months, yet his knowledge was superb. I had to try on 5 different sizes before I got it right (my fault as I'm usually a 9 - 10 UK and ended up needing an 11), yet he knew where the climbing test nuggets were, and chatted freely the whole time, keeping me engaged as a buying customer. To top it all off they price matched the product so I got £15 off the RRP! GREAT SHOPPING EXPERIENCE, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Generally get great service at Cotswold, and especially so today when we wanted to swap a tent we'd bought online that turned out to not really fit the bill of what we were looking for. So, middle of the day, nice and quiet, we take over the boot area to put up the tents so we could really see what they were like, and then wham bam of course it suddenly gets really busy but we still plough on, make our decision, and then get tempted by the 20% off camping kit offer.... and of course, now we've finished, there is no one in the boot area at all. As with a lot of the "outdoor lifestyle and equipment" shops, Cotswold suffers from the fact that clothing is a dominant proportion of the shop floor, leaving little space for actual equipment such as tents, but this is an issue across the ranges of brands on the market

Cotswold stores tend to be more expensive than online retailers but the staff here are exceptional.
