I went into Blacks to purchase some shoes last minute before going abroad, it had been a stressful day. I was served by Marco who was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. He advised me well, recommending a pair of boots that are very comfortable and that I have had no wearing in problems with. Fantastic customer service, which really brightened my afternoon. I will definitely be back in future.

Visited the store yesterday looking for advice on crossover style trainer for walking and gym. Michael was super helpful and friendly explaining what shoe I needed and a recommendation. Although the ladies version was out of stock he measured my feet and showed me a male version so he could explain the merits of the shoe. Sadly left without the shoe but he wrote down the details of the shoe. I would highly recommend this branch if you are visiting Brighton.

The staff here are SO incredibly kind, helpful and patient. They really helped me with a purchase I had made that wasn't right and took their time helping me out allowing me as much time as I needed. I wanted my first pair of hiking boots but was a bit unsure of my size and what to look for, beyond that I wanted leather for extra waterproofing. The staff were really friendly and helpful, getting out loads of shoes and helping me make a choice. I found a pair I really liked but they were only in store in fabric, so they ordered the leather version for me. This is where I'm knocking a star off as I thought I would be able to pick them up in store, but I later found that Blacks isn't currently doing click and collect and I'd set up home delivery. This was a bit inconvenient as I didn't want my shoes potentially stolen off my doorstep and so had to stay home to receive them. That said, the delivery process was very smooth and efficient and I was keapt well-informed by the courier (Hermes) when to expect them.

Excellent service here. Leah was extremely helpful, so polite, and patient, even when we changed our minds and went backwards and forwards and round and round the shop. It was busy too and the service was still exceptional, Best service I've had in a shop in a long time. Great selection in the shop. Shame we are from Greenwich!!

I usually enjoy visiting Black's, but not today. Poor selection of stock and lacking vibrancy. They are having a clearance sale, so depending what you are looking for, you might pick up a bargain!

A good shop for all camping, outdoor, and robust clothing and accessories . They have great offers all of the time, they stock brands like the north face, berghouse, Swiss army, and Jack wolf skin. I buy all of my coats from here as the staff are happy to advice on choice

Nice selection of camping kit, gear and accessories, but personally, I didn't appreciate the "security guard" who (I assume, he believed, surreptitiously) followed me around the store. Neither bought, or stole, nothing.
