Great staff and manager who give a personalised service and good value for money. Free twice a week running club for all ability groups has been established around a decade now and so welcoming!

Highly recommend. I bought Saucony trainers 13 years ago, they have lasted well. i returned to to get another pair and really pleased they still produce the same style. My size wasn’t in stock but they were ordered in and next day I had text from U&R to say they had arrived. The staff were very knowledgable, friendly and provided great advice without being preachy.

Updated 2022: Returned to Up and Running to replace last trainers. Again, fantastic service with degree of knowledge in products it offers. This shop will continue to be my go-to for running trainers. Visited this shop based off its reviews, to get new pair of fitted trainers. Excellent service, with a 45min fitting. I was able to review video of my running with the shop assistant, who was very knowledgeable in her job. Was not pushed into buying most expensive trainers. I can also try trainers on treadmill, and return to find correct pair if not quite right.

I visited the Bristol store today 29/12/21 and was served and advised by Nick. We had a discussion about the type of running I was going to be doing..... distances/terrains and so forth. He had a detailed knowledge of each shoe he showed me. This, along with endless patience and attention made sure I bought the right shoes for me. Could not fault this running shop in any way. The lady today (09/11) was knowledgeable, friendly and very understanding of my needs. I have tried just about every running shop in Bristol over the last few years and this is by far the best.

I love this place normally, we have had such good service in the past. But today there was a young lady who really didn't seem that interested in us, so we took the first pair offered and skedaddled. Luckily the shoes we bought are exactly what we wanted and work well in our quite complicated situation. We even had to reach for the shoe horn ourselves while I was down on the floor trying to get my husband's shoe on him (he's had a stroke but does brilliantly). We will come back though, shame to be put off by just one person.

Easy to access and fantastic staff !! Went in looking for help with finding the right running shoe for me, was able to have my Gait filmed and analysed, then a wide range of shoes offered. Just bought a new pair of trainers from Up & Running Bristol. They were both so helpful and knowledgeable. I normally try on hundreds of pairs but got to the right ones in 4 sets! I now have a nice pair of Brooks Ghost 13. Also got 10% discount for being a running group member. Thank you guys, will definitely be back!!

Great, knowledge staff. Friendly, honest service offering advice on what running shoes to fit your needs. They don't push any purchase or brand and give you a range to choose from based on the gait analysis they did for free. Highly recommend.

Fantastic service. Great advice and help. Gait review meant I fully understood the nuances of my running technique. A large number of shoes were made available and one by one was able to whittle down to a single pair .. no pressure to buy .. was even told my old ones had some life in them if i wanted to wait !

Bought some running shoes that fitted perfectly. Expert advice and friendly service. Shoes were not cheap but they used their treadmill and camera to check on running gait and matched to a great shoe. Totally not pushing for expensive sale. Would thoroughly recommend.

I went to check if I needed new running shoes as I have developed some knee pain. The manager and another member of staff carefully evaluated my running gait and then decided that my current shoes are fine and there must be another problem. They could easily have sold me something but are clearly very honest and professional. Lots of experience but friendly and approachable. I'll definitely go back when I need new shoes assuming I sort out my knee!

I read all the reviews and decided to go and get new trainers. I was there as it opened at 9am & I'm glad, as the shop is very popular. I received a really good service, helpful advice, gait analysis on treadmill, 3 suggested pairs of trainers to try, no pressure to buy. The owner admits he's not a salesman, which I liked. I love my new trainers & good running bra. The trainers feel amazing!

Bought a pair of running shoes - very friendly and helpful staff even tho I didn't look like the usual type of customer when I came in all clad in motorbike gear. Once down to my tracksuit trousers and a tee-shirt, then on to the machine to analyse my gait and pair of trainers recommeded. Very good experience, have just sent my wife there as she needs new running shoes too.

I visited this store with a view to assessing my current running shoes as I had contracted a 'Plantar Fasciitis' injury. Rick took so much time and care asking me about my running history and checked my current shoes. To my shock, Rick didn't try to sell me a new pair of shoes but instead a much cheaper insole, as he deemed my shoes to be fine and not the cause. Rick's recommendation has worked perfectly. My injury is repaired. I was so surprised and grateful to Rick for not simply trying to sell me a new shoe, but instead giving me incredible customer service and care. I will be returning to Rick's store without doubt. I'm an instant, loyal customer. Highly recommend Rick and his fantastic store.

Bought my second pair of shoes today in Up&Running and their customer service is second to none. Very knowledgeable and very friendly - clearly a shop run by runners, for runners. Yes it gets busy at the weekend, but compare the service to Easy Runner (which I would recommend against going to), and you can see why!

I have just started running having enrolled on couch to 5 k and so am a total novice. I went to up & running with my trainers for help and advice. I advised I didn't know if I would be buying trainers depending on the outcome. I was still given the full check with running on the tredmill to how I run. It was advised my trainers were heavy and stiff but still there was no pressure to try and but trainers. I felt that I would like to try trainers with expert advice. I did buy a pair of trainers after trying on numerous trainers with advice on support. I would recommend this shop as there was no pressure but so much help advice.

We're blessed with a few really great running specialist shops in Bristol, but 'Up and Running', in Henleaze, has to be my favourite. With gait analysis treadmill and a wide range of shoes from Brooks to Mizuno including many other brands, the shop offers all you need and more to get you over the finishing line. Gels, specialist socks, clothing, I got a great Ron Hill winter jacket with a 30% reduction. The shop has it all offering a range of dietary and running books to the latest bone anchored headphones to enable you to listen to your playlist or pods and still be able to hear what's behind you when you're out. Oh yeh, and the staff are just really nice, knowledgable and helpful too. They also have a running club that meets twice a week, check store for details.
