I’d like to give ten stars to the staff in this store! The staff is so patient and helpful while my partner and I are picking for the hiking shoes. The staff gave good advices and suggestions to our concerns. Though I’m still in my indecisive mind on which pairs to go with, I can’t thank him enough. I also got the coolest backpack from this store that fits everything I need. This shopping experience made my day!

If you are after boots and need advice this the only place I have found between Cardiff and Swansea that really know what they are talking about. They know the walking boot range well and widths of manufacturers and boot models to guide you. They can give advice on blister prevention specific to you feet that might save you some serious suffering! Go Outdoors have no knowledge about boots and Cotswolds Outdoor have some but nothing like these lot!

If you're a climber and need any equipment, especially new climbing shoes this place is the best! Helpful staff who actually know what they're talking about and will help you find the right fit no matter how long it takes. They have a small climbing board with a range of holds so you can get a better feel for your shoes on the wall too. Would definitely recommend for any of your outdoor needs!

Only place I could find Darn Tough socks in the size and colour I wanted. Order placed at 2pm and arrived before 2pm the next day, along with a personalised hand written note. Also used Up and Under to purchase some high altitude boots in the past. Spent close to 2 hours in store trying different boots and picking their brains on an up and coming trip. Never felt I was overstaying my welcome and I was clearly talking to experienced hikers/climbers first, while being sales people 2nd.

Excellent online shopping Found Up and Under when combing the internet for an uncommon size Werner paddle. I was frustrated by how many shops have out-of-stock items available for search! Not the case with Up and Under. Item was in stock and ready. I placed the order for a Republic of Ireland shipping address, no payment was taken at the time. A bespoke shipping quote (excellent price) with a secure link for payment was emailed within 24 hours. Once paid and the item was dispatched, tracking numbers for both the UK and Irish carriers were given. Although delivery took a good while due to Covid, I was well aware of the parcel movement all the while. Paddle arrived as described and in perfect condition. Hoping the excellent value and efficiency of service is not impacted by Brexit as I would definitely use them again.

I've visited numerous times since starting to climb in late 2019 and have been blown away by the level of knowledge, experience and advice offered. The advice and guidance provided for fitting climbing shoes has been of an incredibly high standard, and also educational for someone new to and still learning the sport. There is even a mini wall with holds on to give you a chance to test the shoe. Prices are competitive and the range of products is the stuff of dreams. Running is my first sport and to see a trail/ultra selection including the likes of La Sportiva, inov8, Ultimate Direction, VJ and plenty more is fantastic. The physical shop is huge, and to be perfectly honest I haven't yet ventured to every corner (there's more than enough to distract me in the climbing and running sections). The staff are a pleasure to talk with, and you can tell the passion they have for the sports they specialise in. This really shone through when talking with Chris and George during shoe fittings, and I've no doubt this extends to the rest of the staff who cover the remainder of the wide range of adventure sports equipment stocked. Response to a few email questions about availability and advice have been prompt and informative, and really high awareness of COVID regulations to help keep customers and staff safe. They also went above and beyond to get an order delivered to me before Christmas (thank you Ben), which was greatly appreciated. I can't imagine going anywhere else for climbing equipment, and I would go there for any other new sports/adventure gear I may need in the future. They also support events and act as a registration venue for a local ultra running events company. Couldn't recommend more highly, the epitome of what a specialist should be in my opinion.

I'v been going to Up and Under since the late 90's and in that tome I'v bought some great kit inc; my first climbing shoes, all my favourite waterproofs, the best rucksacks, tents and all sorts of warm clothing, maps and kit. The reason I keep going back is the choice clothing and kit has always been wonderful and the staff know everything about the kit they stock. Always have a great range of stock in various areas of outdoor and indoor activities. As of yet I have only bought climbing gear and boating equipment from them but they are yet to disappoint. I travel an hour and a half to visit the store as they always have the sizes I need. Its hard to find an XS Ladies Harness as there isn't a high enough demand for many places to stock them but Up & Under had a variety for me to try on. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable in their fields. I will always recommend this store and happily make the long journey to them.

They cater more for the upper end outdoor and the "outdoor trade" meaning they Stock lots of high end products.
