The staff in there were absolutely brilliant. I'm going on holiday next week and was looking for some cloths for rainy and stormy weather and Jay has fully equipped me with everything I needed without being too pushy or trying to sell me the most expensive thing in the shop. At the till I was served by Gary; again very friendly, welcoming and just a genuinely nice lad. Will definitely go back!

This one is a little small inside and can be quite cramped. Is very popular with tourists and is a good place to pick up some cheap waterproofs if you get caught in the rain. Their "offers" are incredibly annoying though. I only wanted to buy one item, but it was "half price" only if you bought something else, so I ended up buying a cereal bar I didn't want. Very irritating.....

I love Mountain Warehouse. I can get decent clothing items at very reasonable prices. The quality is higher than a lot of the brands you'll get on the high street and there's usually an offer going. I went to buy a snood, the one I wanted wasn't stocked in that branch but there was a wide selection of different ones and it turned out they were on a BOGOF deal which included so many things to choose from that my girlfriend started getting a bit grumpy with me while I was trying to choose. I finally settled on a length of para-cord which I definitely don't need but it was free so who cares!

Rather nice shop with lots interesting stuff. Bought two pairs of shorts after I had been looking for anything like that all over town. The service was awesome and extremely helpful. This place has quite a good selection of hiking and camping gear, however they tend to give things inflated prices so they look like a bargin when they make them half price. The manufacturing quality isn't usually worth the original price tag.

I can't help going into outdoor shops for a look around but almost always come out with tent pegs or a beanie hat. One day I'm going to have to pop in and buy myself a tent next. Inexpensive gear for those fair weather ramblers but serious death defying mountain people should look elsewhere unless you need tent pegs and beanie hats.

The merchandise I've purchased here before has been reasonably decent in the past (T-shirt, waterproof trousers, base layer top, etc.). Not as good as some other stores, but within my budget and it usually does the job. However, I bought a 1-L water bottle a little more than a month before a big trip. The top of the bottle was defective and part of the lid is now coming apart (no longer waterproof). This happened on my very first use of the item, but because it was after the 28-day return period, there was no possibility of a replacement. Buyer beware - don't shop for anything in the store unless you're going to use it within a month! In this case, it doesn't pay to plan in advance for a trip... What's worse is that the person working there didn't seem to care at all, didn't seem apologetic, and didn't have his facts straight. At one point, he was explaining that he couldn't do anything because I didn't have the original receipt with me, but when I called him out on that (I didn't bring it, but assume I went home and brought it in - could you help me?) he explained that it didn't matter since it was past the 28-day return deadline. Very frustrating, to say the least.

Happy and helpful staff only too happy to help with anything. Good selection of some reasonably priced items for a small store. Due to its size the stock is seasonal but this store stocks a broader range of articles than its local competitors.
