I had a new cassette, rear deralier, and shifters fitted to my 8 yr old Trek Madone 3.5. Neil was fantastic kept me up to date with progress and provided excellent advice and a series of options when things didn't quite go to plan. The bike feels like a new bike. Overall, fantastic experience, great selection and great to get input from the attentive experts like Gordon - massive thanks! It makes such a difference being able to try things out and experiment. I’m set to hike Kilimanjaro this August for charity and have never properly invested in a pair of hiking boots - bought them as and when needed from Mountain Warehouse/Tresspass. I had been told the Tiso store was great as you can try out the boots on different terrains. Gordon took time to explain the different styles of boots available and was really attentive to my needs. I tried out a couple of different ones plus insoles and eventually found the right pair - trying them on the terrain made a massive difference. Additionally, Gordon helped my find a great bag, as I explained I had some back problems. Great place, great staff!

Incredibly helpful staff who took the time to explain the differences of the walking boots for the various types of activities and terrains. He had a wealth of knowledge of actually being in the situations the products were used in and filled me with confidence in what shoe was best for what I was going to need it for. No hard sell just information I could use to pick the best product for my needs. Not all sales assistants offer such insight and it was gratefully appreciated given the store was closing in 5 minutes. A absolute credit to the store .

Tiso is a excellent shop catering for those involved in outdoor activities : climbing, hill walking, hiking, skiing, snow boarding, camping, cycling. There is an "inner shop" - Blues - that specialises in skiing and snowboarding. Blues provides an excellent ski boot fitting service from highly trained staff as well as advice from the knowledgeable staff who are themslves participants in the sport. Situated on the edge of Glasgow city centre with its own car park as well as adequate street parking it is easy to access. There is a also a small cafe serving snacks, lunches etc. with the store.

Came to Tiso’s for some good outdoor gear, they had a reasonable price for boots, jackets, tents, bikes etc. The cafe was phenomenal, I had the Hearty classic sandwich, the toastie had so much taste and texture, with a hot chocolate and lemon loaf cake, the best food I have ever tasted. Very friendly staff so welcoming. A real 100/10 very recommended

Honestly one of the best retailers I've been to. I couldn't belive the level of staff expertise about walking boots. It seems to depend a little on what staff member you get, but if you get lucky you can speak to someone with a lot of knowledge about fitting outdoor gear, that you won't get at any other shop. It's clear they invest time in training staff, and it shows, because you will not get this level of advice at any highstreet outdoors shop. It is more expensive than the highstreet options but it's worth it, given that a lot of outdoors gear can last a decade or a lifetime if you get the right advice. Also a really fun well laid out store.

Excellent service and staff. Went in with absolutely no clue what I needed for going Munro climbing in terms of boots. Was going to go for the cheapest pair but the guy in there really took time to give me a couple options and let me try on a few pairs so I got what I needed. Shopped at your Glasgow Coupar Street store this afternoon with my partner. It was our first time there and we'd heard a lot of good things about it. My partner was looking for new hiking boots and was helped by a young guy named Liam. Liam was fantastic, so helpful and friendly and his knowledge was amazing. He's a credit to your store. We also visited the cafe for a bite to eat which was lovely, and again great service from the staff there. Overall we were very impressed and pleased. Bought a bike online but needed some advice on pedals and shoes, I wasn’t sure where to start. I popped in store and was overwhelmed by the choices I asked for a hand and the member of staff couldn’t of been nicer. He talked me through the styles of pedals the cleats and what was best for the type of cycling I’ll be doing. Same with the shoes I can’t remember his name but he was more than helpful he even fitted the cleat to my shoe! I’m sure he was the concession manager, he even told me where to cycle in Glasgow to help me get used to clipless pedals! Some man! Will recommend this store to anyone who asks. Thanks again. Only negative was the way the cashier forcibly squeezed nearly £500 worth of kit into the new £110 rucksack I had just bought. A bit more care and consideration would have been better. The team at this place are absolutely fantastic. I was cycling from Lands End to John o' Groats when I had a fault with my bike which meant it couldn't continue. Alpine Bike swapped my bike out for a hire bike and replaced my rear wheel while I was away. They simply couldn't have been more helpful and couldn't do enough for me. If you value great, friendly service then don't go anywhere else - absolutely brilliant.

Don't buy boots online. Come here and get it done right! I got superb service from Adam who took the time to help me and my daughter find the right boots for our feet. Carefully measuring them, testing fit by boot and allowing us to try on multiple sizes and variants with all the assistance we needed. We walked out with the perfect pairs of boots. If we'd done this ourselves or bought online, we'd have been soon crippled by ill fitting boots. And the prices are competitive!!

A fine selection of outdoor gear, clothing and accessories. Catering for many different pursuits from hill walking to paddle boarding etc. You can hire canoes and other equipment. You can buy a bike. You can buy ski equipment. Staff are very helpful and friendly. There is an onsite cafe. What's not to like. For those on a budget it can be a bit pricey. Only grumble..... no snowboards.

Every single time I have visited I've been given the best advice and the staff are always pleasant and very helpful. I love the fact that when a store or cafe is dog friendly, the staff are too and your Glasgow branch proves that. I'd just like to add the guy that gave me advice, he has a cockapoo, was brilliant. Tiso is an amazing outdoor specialist shop. It stocks good clothing brands such as RAB, Berghaus, Montane and Mountain Equipment. The staff will help you choose the best thing for you whether it be a tent, shoes, jacket, canoe/kayak or bike. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and welcoming. There is a cafe that is very good too.

Well laid out shop with loads of top of the range gear. Bit beyond my budget but it's good to look. Staff at the café are really nice and work hard but gosh, it needs some investment. Cheap plastic chairs which are cold and very uncomfortable, low volume tatty teapots, small selection of budget cakes. Hmmmm, the management should visit the David Marshall Lodge or the cafes at Luss to see what a good cup of tea and cakes look like.

Usually very helpful and experienced staff but not today. Trying to choose my first climbing helmet and no staff came near me to assist although there was plenty scuttling about doing good knows what. Eventually 3 staff approached at once ( all young men and not familiar to me), walked past me and stood at counter talking about his partner's gallstones, adopting kids and the Scottish cup final. I asked one of them for assistance (obviously interrupting mid conversation) asked if the helmets come in various colours. I was told of I see it some where else just to get it??! So that's what I will do. Online for helmet and harness, I always try to support local shops but not this time sorry
