Click and collect this time, it arrived by pm of the day before, so I dashed to pick up before closing at 7pm. Seamless. Everything ordered in bag, will need to go back for returns, but that is my personal choice. Not as many sale sections as other branches, so they must sell most of their stock at usual price. Ski sections were looking bare, hardly any gloves.

Sir Taylor, as I’ve come to refer to this hero, was an absolute gentleman and all round bicycle wizard. I walked in on a rainy Wednesday afternoon with a dream bike in mind and Taylor made it happen. He told me the specs, seemed to know the popularity of this particular model and just seemed very clued up in general of what bike would suit what I wanted it for. More than that, this chap managed to wrangle the very last of the model and colour of bike that I really wanted. Taylor not only serviced this bike that I bought from there but heroically stepped in to fix a minor bit of damage on my man friend’s broken steed. It’s a 5/5 for me, this man deserves more stars than the night sky.

The lady who helped here was sooooo helpful. Do not go to halfords for a bike. This place is VERY good. We waited for them to open for about 30 mins because we had time. We watched about 40 other people try to get into this store. Might be worth them opening up 1h earlier like halfords & sports direct.

So convenient. The fact it opens really early on a Saturday, 10:30am, means that I can get all my shopping done before the roads get busy and then home in time for bed. And it's always only half stocked so I don't have to spend ages choosing what to buy. I can spend more time browsing empty shelves.

MR. TAYLOR. @ the bike workshop. Was breathtakingly helpfull with a 29 year old damsil man in distress. Without even needing to ask, knew what was wrong. and tidderly winked it back into place. All I did was turn around, to bend down. To pick an oily rag up. (Oilly because I was a flustered chump breaking when I Was supposed to be fixing, oil all over my face.) I didn't even bother buying anything. I might end up going here every Thursday, and perhaps one day. Buy that gorgeous terquoise skipping rope I so desperately deserved. (I was there because my lovely lady friend was buying a beautiful new Riverside blue bike.) Will visit again. Taylor deserves at least a 5.1 🌟

Big fan of the company; however, this branch has such limited stock. I tried on some coats but couldn't find a mirror, the only mirrors were for shoes. I do check the store out regularly but rarely buy from there compared to other branches.

Bought 2 bikes on Monday and was told to come back Tuesday to collect them. After hiring a van and coming back we found out they weren't ready due to some miscommunication. Thanks to Taylor, his colleague and also the store manager who stayed behind for an hour after closing time and assembled the bikes. Can't thank them enough for the pleasant service in the end. Very large store, full of products to cover all sports and activities that one may need. I was after a jacket similar to the one in the picture, but not enough stock sadly and didn't have my size or color desired. I would recommend if you are in the area and want to have a look around. Buying my first electric bike at Decathlon Chingford store was a true pleasure. I was served by a very helpful sales agent called Can who helped me know what to buy for it and what his experience has been which was really helpful. Finally he gave my bike a thorough check before handing me my electric beast. The price of their electric bikes are very competitive compared to the companies on the web who hail themselves as the one to go to but charge double. I also feel safe that i have a nearby store to take my bike with its guarantee in case anything goes wrong, and i know Can will be there ready to help 🦸🏻‍♂️

Went down on a Saturday the day before my very first 100km ride because I was having problems with my front derailleur and I spent days visiting my local bike shop as well as trying to fix it myself with youtube videos. I was seen by the guy named Taylor and he asked if I have an appointment to where I responded no and I have a 100km on the next day and proceeded to assist me with my problems. He was very welcoming even though it was a busy day full of appointments. Coming down to the repair stage he found a couple of issues that I was not aware of and so he managed to fix them and improvised on the screw that was threaded. We were also having a chat about getting into a bike maintenance course, different bikes, and simply youtube videos, and he was very knowledgeable and when he noticed that my brakes also needed adjusting he also fixed them for me. He thoroughly checked that my bike is prepared and conditioned for my first 100km and advised me of the measurements of my front derailleur in case it needs replacing. I also noticed that he was very flexible with other customers coming up to him and asking him questions whilst repairing my bike. Very young and talented lad. He has done an amazing service and hopefully will get his dream bike he deserves!

I purchased a Riverside cycle in December 2020 for which the front fork had to be replaced. I took the bike into the store on February 2021 and was told that a spare part would been needed, which will arrive in 2 weeks. I am still waiting to hear any updates about it. No one answers when the phone number provided is called. Very poor customer service. EDIT: I was contacted by a representative from the Decathlon branch upon reading this review. I appreciate the quick response to the same.

Always have Luis fix my bike. I have high quality bikes. Luis is absolutely excellent. Always does a super job and really knows his stuff. I had a really great experience here. I arrived about 20 minutes before they closed, I asked a young lady where the bicycle tyres and inner tubes where, and I went through which ones I wanted, which ones would be best for me, and bought everything I need to fix my bike. I paid less than £30 for 2 new tyres and 2 new one tubes... The local cycle shop wanted £100 to fix my bike lol. So I've saved myself over £70. A small fortune these days. Well done again Decathlon.

Very happy with my local Decathlon store. It's smaller than others, but normally there's good stock here. Staff is very friendly and nice. Good Covid measures nowadays. The bike repair team is wonderful, better than other stores.

I honestly didn’t have much hope of getting my hands on my first road bike with the current global shortage of cycles and the one I was after showing as out of stock across the country... until I met the staff at Decathlon Chingford, who went absolutely out of their way to help me make an informed decision, then actually successfully locate one rare unit that just happened to be available in another branch, and finally to reserve it for me just on my word that I would collect it. You wouldn’t necessarily expect this good service from staff of a massive sports chain. This is not the biggest decathlon, but it is nice. Staff is always good. Biggest downside for an addict to camping shopping is that the car park is limited to 3 hours. Had a long discussion about a fine after spending 500 in shops. No option to pay for parking.

The staff here are amazingly helpful and knowledgeable. It's worth getting the Decathlon card/membership as this extends your returns period, and gives you a record of when you bought things. I've managed to lose parts of tents and airbeds, and the team here have been able to get me a replacement from the kit they have in stock/display equipment. I won't consider buying my kit from anywhere else!

The guy who was working in the bike repairs section (think he is Italian, apologies forgotten name) came over and personally fitted the guards to make sure prior to purchasing them. I don't often leave reviews but I got the most amazing customer service today from Casey in the cycling department after having no luck with a range of specialist cycling shops, some of which seemed completely disinterested in helping me. I'd been having problems with my gears on my old mountain bike and booked a consultation. Casey just dived in, really helpful, polite and nice and said he wasn't giving up until it was fixed. He replaced the cables, straightened my rear mech hanger and also replaced my rear derailleur before indexing my gears perfectly. He worked really hard for about an hour and only charged me for the parts. £16. I was amazed. Thanks Casey for getting my bike back in good order. You are a credit to your profession and Decathlon will be my first port of call for cycling problems in future. Cheers.

Bought a bike from here three months ago and we were told this includes a free 3 month service. Unfortunately booking this on the website is very confusing as no such option exists. Anyway bought it in today and we were met by a very rude assistant who would not let us have it serviced even though we told her that my husbands bike was bordering on being dangerous and he was riding to work in two days. She wouldn't hear us out and refused any help. She insisted we book online on a paid service and then this will be reimbursed (very confusing and no apologies for the store never answering the calls) added to that was a constant nodding of head and quite frankly no listening. Anyway we couldn't have asked for a nicer gentleman who came to the rescue and apologised for the inconvenience....his name is Can and works at the bikes department. He very promptly serviced our bikes and did a fantastic job. He understood the urgency of having out bikes ready for my husband to ride to work. CAN, from the bikes department,you have saved Decathlons reputation of being a leading sports retailer and we will continue to shop here as there are people like you that provide excellent customer service and really put customers first.

My bicycle was out of action for months as bike parts were impossible to source during lockdown. But I am delighted that at Decathlon Chingford on 01st Oct 20 they were fantastic and searched through their stock and made me up a replacement back wheel. The kids like to play on the scooters - the display ones (now removed due to covid) and I can shop easily and find what I want. Well-priced products (considering it is sports gear and stuff) and the new covid safe tills are very clever! All you have to do is drop items in the electronic basket and it automatically scans them for you. There is also a cash till if you need it and generally excellent service. Only downside is no bathroom (even before coronavirus times) but it still gets 5 stars :)

My first ever visit and I was pleased with the stuff available, customer service, parking, etc everything all good. I went in to buy bike lights and walked out with lots more. Prices are nice and low. Sometimes it's better to go into shops and get a touch and feel before buying instead of ordering off Amazon which is often a gamble.

It is smaller than the other Decathlons in Europe (for example Italy), the same products are more expensive comparative with Decathlon from other countries! I use to buy a lot of stuff from Decathlon, unfortunately UK one is overpriced :(

Today I rang Decathlon in Chingford as I was desperate to get a set of badminton rackets for my husband's birthday. I spoke to Nush who put aside 2 sets of badminton rackets for me. I asked him to reserve the items and will pick them up in 2 hours as I live an hour away from the store. He was extremely helpful and supportive; he went above and beyond as the Decathlon in Chingford do not actually reserve items for customers. He even phoned me to let me know that he had the rackets in store. Excellent customer service from him, he definitely needs to be recognised! Thanks for your support and help. Today I got my new bike. Wasn't sure what to get as I had not had a bike for 20 year. Can who is one of the bike staff there, Really took the time to help me choose what was the right bike for me based on my needs. He explained what the best size bike would suit my height. Once I choose my bike. He built the bike in front of me adding all extra attachments I bought. And making sure I was happy with the placement of everything ( brakes, D-loc, ect). Can was very patient, friendly, and knew what he was talking about. Which I feel is the most important thing when interacting with staff. Also I like to say that the bike manager (sorry didn't remember the name) was also very helpful and patient when helping me to decide on extras for the bike. He was very helpful in helping me order items in store. Which came within 24 hours. I recomend decathlon chingford because of the two staff members there. You can buy a bike anywhere but it's all about good customer service, which I recieved. Very happy with my purchase.

I'm not a sports person. This is a specialist clothing and equipment shop BUT if you want the best winter thermals and all weather jackets this is an excellent place to buy. The prices are very affordable and the staff are very helpful. Very well organised store with plenty of space and you don't get harassed. They have two cubicles for trying on clothing but no toilets. Nice place.

It is a very small store comparing to Spanish ones I have been and got used before. Opening was yesterday and it was full of staff, no many customers though. I thought it was going to be a crazy time but not at all. We could take two free backpacks with our two Decathlon cards. Parking is free, so a good point for this Retail Centre. A handful of stores, not much variety. Store was clean and tidy, as expected for a new opening store. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are a few checkout tills so expect queues on busy periods. Overall, it was just OK but lack of space, aisles are really small with tiny gaps to move around them. Buy the stores next to this and create a bigger store with plenty of stock to enjoy shopping.

There were empty rows when we visited, couldn't decide if they are refurbishing, or run out of the items sold there, or what is really going on, why they are empty. In my experience they also had very limited stock on waterproof hiking clothing (at least for women), but loads of stuff for running and camping. It was OK, but could do more variety and better stock.

As much as I like Decathlon, the last few times I have visited this store, the cycle department looks like it has been ransacked. The shelves are almost empty and what stock there is on the shelves, is either in the wrong place, or has no price tag. I know this could be due to the explosion of people taking up cycling during lockdown, but it makes shopping for spares a lot more difficult than it needs to be. Hopefully this is just a temporary blip until things get back to normal. I never experienced this at the Harlow store, which unfortunately, is now shut down.

They have a lot of cheap and good quality tents and lots of other sports equipment, but not a lot for each sport individually (there are lots of sports they have equipment for but little for each sport). For example there was only a few types of mountain bikes, which weren't really good.

The perfect shop for any sports activity. The qualify of the clothes is fantastic and the price very affordable. There is a free parking on site and a bus stop 2 minutes away. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The shop is usually very well stocked.

This a recent Decathlon opening and is a.smaller shop than some of the other shops they have opened. As a result, it doesn't have as much choice as others. This said though, you can get almost anything you need for a sporting occasion that you will need. The bike section is excellent, as is the clothing sections for whatever sport is needed. They have very little choice of branded products and a lot of own brand equipment. Prices are very reasonable for their own brands.

The retailer stocks a wide range of sporting goods, from tennis rackets to advanced scuba diving equipment, in a large superstore. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to save money and buy quality sporting goods and clothing. The shop assistants are nice, but I would recommend to make more fitting rooms.

Store is rather small and we did not find the kids bicycle we were looking for. However, my 3 star is due to lacking customer toilets. None of the stores in the area have customer toilets. Particularly bad if you are visiting the stores with your kids. Also leaving the car park is a bit of a pain during busy times. Takes about 30-45 minutes. Free parking is up to 3 hours. Best not to stay over 2 hours if the car park is busy or else you might get a ticket from the private parking firm. If I need to go decathlon again I will stick with Canada Water or Lakeside branches.

I am writing to thank the bicycle team, and specifically thank Manuel and his team such as Luis. Such humble and wonderful guys. Manuel is extremely open, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I bought a bike for my son and also the related peripheries for the whole family, including helmets, gloves, jackets and so o. Manuel get personally involved and also does it without the usual pushy sales pitch or the "aloof manager" routine. I have also watched the kind and gentle way that he delegates his team when it gets busy. It's nice. I always say to him, "When I see you on the floor, I am relieved as I know you will come through". To the manage, Concerning my experience yesterday with particular staff members... I came into the store at Chingford around 5:30pm and enquired about archery equipment from a very helpful staff member serving at one of the tills, and he pointed me to the right direction upstairs. And shortly after I asked him about the closing time at which he said 8pm. So I decided to return with my wallet shortly after 7pm and headed straight towards the archery equipment. As I was looking for what to purchase, a girl who did not really look like a staff member, due to her dress code and extremely rude posture, attempted to walk past me avoiding eye contact, however, I asked her if she worked at the store at which she reluctantly and frustratedly said yes! So I quickly asked her to get someone else to help me out, as she did not try to hide it that she had no interest in helping me. She did at least call a different staff member who was extremely friendly and willing to help me. He even encouraged me to have a little test with a particular bow and arrow - I don't know his name - but positive shout out to him and the guy downstairs earlier. Nevertgeless, just to finish up, I was wanting the manager to kindly read this email to the staff members who were in store yesterday between 5:30pm and 7:30pm so that they could reflect on their customer service, good or bad, as they would know which one they have chosen to be in general and when they think no one is looking. This would be most appreciated and I will not take things further by returning and highligjting this in person with the view to point them out aswell - good or bad. Also, just to add, I love this store and what it offers! I was most satisfied with what I purchased yesterday. Thank you Israel

The Surrey Quays store is much more bigger with greater selection . Decathlon staff is always happy and friendly in all my visits before ( in Spain and France at least.) The guys upstairs of this store where helpful but till experience was awfull and as well they haven’t got all aptonia products . You can clearly say the aisles weren’t looked after and everything was out of the packages and a bit in random way wich is a shame because I love Decatlhon I love them quality products .
