Reviews of Wigmore Sports Racket Restringing London
R. C.
I was looking for a proper tennis shop and I found it. 100% recommendable to find good rackets, good quality accessories and shopping assessment! I went there to replace my strings and I left with a racket. Wonderful!
L. G.
They have a lot of choices of rackets, which is very nice. They don’t have that many clothes and they can be quite expensive, but sportswear is always pricy. I often get my rackets strung there, and it is a bit expensive keeping in mond that I have my own strings (£18 per racket). However, the staff is knowledgeable and helpful.
L. P.
One of the few places in Central London dedicated to rackets.
I personally had to go for a badminton Racket and the selection in that particularly lacking in choices. Only the most expensive rackets and overall only 6-8 options. They do offer stringing service though which is nice.
The other big concern is price. Their prices are one of the highest especially for service. What I found funny was after I spent ~120 pounds here in a matter of weeks they still wanted 2 pounds to help stick a grip on a tape.

Popped-in today for a new racket. Experts who identified the perfect racket for me based on my abstract description. Perfect transaction.
Great staff and a nice vibe!

One of the best racket stores! Excellent service and great range of rackets... Rohan took the time to assess the racket that best suits my game style - really appreciated this!
J. L.
They don't currently have any demo rackets because of COVID effecting production. Bit of a shame as I don't want to buy a racket without trying it first.

I was in Harley Street for an appointment and happened to pass Wigmore Sports. I am in the market for a new tennis racket and they could not have been more helpful. The gentleman who dealt with me came up with a number of rackets and it was brilliant being able to feel the weight of them etc. Had I of been local I would have taken advantage of their "try before you buy" option too. I was really impressed.

Waste of time. Googled tennis sports shops. Walked 26 minutes to it, after a very long day. Great tennis clothes, which we were both keen to purchase but they won’t let you try anything on. Every other shop we had been in today, small and large let you try on. They don’t open Sundays so you can’t even try on in your hotel and take back the next day. Complete waste of time.

Definitely the best sports shop in UK bar none.
Great service and very knowledgeable staff.

Great range of all things tennis. The top brands too. Found the limited edition White/Blue Court FF Novaks here...and in my size. Super difficult to get anywhere else due to popularity. Perhaps slightly more expensive than elsewhere but a great quality pair of shoes. Easy to place the order and within an hour someone had collected it ready for shipping. Had an issue with delivery due to a last minute change in address. Wigmore did everything possible to update the address, coordinate with FedEx and resolve the delay. Was regularly in touch with them with updates on shipping. The team are very professional, friendly and supportive. 100% recommend!

Ordered a new racket from this lovely shop when visiting London last week. Staff were super helpful and knowledgeable, shop was immaculately presented. The grip size I needed wasn't in stock with the racket I wanted so they ordered it in, strung it and sent it up to where I live in North Wales free of charge. Thanks for a great service, looking forward to visiting again when I'm next in London!

A great specialist specialist tennis shop. The advice is very well informed and I've never felt any pressure to buy. They know all the rackets well and don't have any bias. They listened to what I wanted then made relevant recommendations.
They have a good scheme that lets you borrow a few demo rackets before you buy. They take a £100 per racket deposit and £10 charge for borrowing each one which they will deduct of any future purchase. I just did this today and it worked perfectly. They even gave me a free additional grip which was kind.
We need more shops like this.

Used to be great for finding a tennis racket. Very expensive to buy and test rackets now, especially since the hitting room is now closed.

Fantastic experience at Wigmore today. Great peoples, great specialist, great advices on which tennis racquet is the most suitable for me. Yes, they are a bit more expensive but you truly understand that you are paying that extra for a 5 stars service. I will recommend them again for sure.

I personally don't know how someone can rate this store 1 star.
I delt with the company over the phone for a phone order, and was so pleased with the phone call I decided to personally come in and collect my items.
fantastic staff I dealt with Fraser, absolutely fab fella.
spent 15 mins giving me tips and hints and very helpful...
anyone who can rate this store 1 star needs a slap.

We purchased two rackets, two pairs of tennis shoes, clothing, tennis balls and various other items. We spent almost two hours in the store testing rackets and consulting with the staff. Our salesman was knowledgeable, professional and had a great sense of humour. Thank you all for a great experience. See you again! Dianne and Mike

Fantastic shop - rare to find a physical sports gear shop these days! Huge range of products and exceptional service! The staff was really friendly, knowledgeable and patience. Managed to find a suitable tennis racket for myself.
j. b.
Helpful staff. Good service. Had tennis shoes in my size which I could not find anywhere else.
M. W.
Nice shop. They were able to answer questions about various rackets and then helped me find a nice pair of new shoes. They even have a small hitting room where I was able to hit a few balls to see how the shoes and racket felt. Their racket demo program was a little expensive, £20 plus £100 deposit. I was told that the £20 could be placed toward the price of the new racket if you buy it when you return the demo. Overall I felt the shop was too overpriced to buy multiple high end rackets.
C. T.
Richard Miller was helpful, not pushy and explained which racket would suit my style of play. He didn't try the horrible hard sell and I ended up with the superb Wilson Burn racket. They have a very wide selection and cater from beginner to pro. I have spent forever looking online and returning duds this was such a relief, I would highly recommend this place if you need help choosing a racket amongst the hundreds out there.
A. J.
Nice store with a lot of racquets nicely stacked up. However, I found the racquet and ball prices to be way more than what i got them for in Sports Direct and Lillywhites. Recommended only for those who are not price concious.
A. M.
They allowed me to look at the rackets at my pace and when I was ready a sales person was very helpful in selecting a Wilson Ultra countervail 100 with a Limited Edition color scheme . I'm disappointed that I was not told that there was a small room to hit and try the racket. Otherwise a very positive experience!
C. B.
I have been past this shop many times and finally had a good reason to pop in - I needed a new racquet. A very well presented arrangement of different racquets was available and a knowledgeable and friendly sales associate patiently guided me through the different options. We settled on a great choice - which I have since used and absolutely love. I know some, including my friends, have mentioned it is more expensive than other establishments - but to my happy surprise, on that particular day, they had an offer of 2 for the price of 1, which meant they were extremely competitively priced. 10/10!

I work in a store with a big racket section and a lot of the reps I deal with speak highly of Wigmore Sports. Having looked at their impressive website and Google shop tour I was really looking forward to visiting the store. Yesterday I did. Cosmetically it is a fabulous store and the practice/demo wall is a very impressive feature but I must admit I was disappointed with the stock offering. There was very little clothing for men and the footwear range was limited too. The racket display definitely catches your attention but again the range was limited. Overall it is lovely to look at but not a great choice. Sad to say it didn't live up to my expectations and I left disappointed.
J. H.
Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. I tried on many pairs of badminton shoes. Nice loyalty scheme too and prices were reasonable. I'll definitely return for badminton shoes and equipment.
M. N.
One of the few remaining specialist sports shops for racket sports so it's great for a wide selection of equipment and knowledgeable staff. The only downside is that it's a little on pricey side but you know you're getting good quality and service.
J. S.
Certainly the best Tennis / Racket shop I've ever seen (I am playing tennis since I am 6).
The staff is here to help, provides great advice.
I would also add that the trying policy when you want to try a racket is more than fair.
Would recommend 100%.
Thank you Wigmore !

A London institution. Glad to see they are still going and maintaining their high standards
M. T.
Have been using Wigmore for years now. Always up on the latest tech and have given me recommendations on strings/tensions to help ease my elbow issues. Really friendly too.
M. H.
The best , by far range of all racquets anywhere! And the staff know what they are doing.
Great and efficient stringing service.
Good cloth range from top brands.
E. H.
Went in to pick up a pair of white underwear for a paint/foam party, to then take on to a trombone concert. Service was under par (that’s a golfing joke) and I can’t really work out what they’re angling for (a fishing joke there).
There was only one flavour of tennis balls, and it wasn’t watermelon. They offered me Pepsi instead.
3 love.
F. M.
Excellent stock and knowledgeable staff
D. B.
A friendly shop selling premium tennis kits and racquets. For a proper tennis club player. It is on the upper end price wise.
B.
Knowledgeable staff, great selection of products. Bought on last visit and will do so again when we next come to London in October!
L. B.
Slightly pricey, but good quality stuff. Went to restring a Babolat tennis racquet. Very good service and a nice job of restringing. Definitely worth visiting.
J. H.
Excellent range of tennis equipment, shoes and clothing although a little expensive.
What was a little disconcerting was the staff who follow you around the shop as you are looking, at quite a close distance.
R. S.
excellent selection of badminton rackets, staff were very helpful. Shame that there were no sample strung rackets to test
M. R.
It's good store for badminton lovers as lot of options and the store people will guide you based on your requirements.
