Plenty of stock and good bargains. Sadly did ask a woman worker about a price on a top which was on the sale rack but no tag but was not the most friendly person when taking the top of me to check the price of it but o. The ground floor was a very polite older woman worker who was friendly when I asked a question.

I have been using this store for years. Kath and David are always super helpful, even if they are really busy. They will go that extra mile to make sure you walk out happy. many great prices too , especially on footwear.

Big choice of cheap products, opening hours good, but staff seems unhappy and doesn’t really have much time to help customers. On a positive note they don’t overwhelm you like in many other shops;) They always seem overworked or unmotivated, I guess it tells you much about the management or working conditions? No mirrors in the shop, why??

Large Store right in the city center on the main streets, which you won't miss. Easy to access. The main go to place for your sports gears and trainers etc (in my opinion). Prices are standard, but seems to have alot of sales going on throughout the year. There are 3 floors in total, basement, ground floor and floor 1. However, there are only escalators going up to the 1st floor and to basement level but no escalators back to ground floor. I also dont seem to see any lifts there, so might be an accessibility issue there?

Karl was very helpful! Better store / staff than the Gateshead Metro Centre store... actually exchanged my faulty item rather than telling me “as there is no physical fault I can’t exchange the trainers” like Gateshead store did... even though I explained the sole was clicking when I walked so the fault would have been within the trainer...

People are complaining about the staff who they forget are largely slave labour to a two-bit billionaire (is that even possible?) however they're not reviewing the actual shop. The shop is fine and like all Sports Direct shops, absolutely jammed with gear and minimal spending on the design and facilities needed for buyers (mirrors and fully accessible changing rooms). The staff are great although you do have to approach them and be patient as for many it's their first job and probably haven't had any training or support to build the confidence to be more proactive. I've always had great service in all SD shops and the staff have always helped when needed. Oh, and they should be paid more, on proper contracts and not treated like slaves.

Staff are really helpful, always willing to help. However, you tend to need their help because the shop is a bit of a mess, going to boot cut jeans only to find skinny etc also there was no sizes on hangers so when the size was not clearly marked on top of the jeans it was really awkward going through a packed peg trying to find tags with the size. Resorted to going online.

Good range of products. Well stocked. No mirrors anywhere in women's dept (except apparently changing room, which I couldn't access). No staff on upstairs till, told to go downstairs, then sent back up. Good value but not exactly an enjoyable experience.
