Absolutely brilliant service. If only more people were like Rob.Top bloke, great advice. He really took his time giving my 10 year old son guidance on buying his first skateboard. Many thanks Rob.I really recommend this shop to anyone.
C. H.
Bought my first proper board from here and it was honestly the best service and experience, staff were great, insanely friendly and incredibly helpful. Will be my go too skateshop if am in ever in need of anything
(had to put the forty two sticker on there)

We visited the store yesterday with our son to build and buy his first board. It was just the loveliest shopping experience. A really engaging environment, super personalised and attentive service - friendly, passionate, knowledgeable. We were there for about an hour and left with a set up exactly fitted to what we went in looking for. If you could bottle and sell a shopping experience, this would be the one! Thank you, we’ll be back - a lot!

Great local skate shop with a a range of boards and clothing including shoes, sweaters and t shirts. The brand's they stock (off the top of my head) are Rip N Dip, Chocolate, Girl, Santa Cruz, Toy Machine and Primitive (there's loads more as well) plus they have some good UK skate brands as well. The people in there are super lovely and helpful and, if you're a beginner, will help you to choose the right board for you.

so kind and welcoming, wheelchair friendly and just so lovely !! they really know their stuff about skating !
i would really recommend coming here ☺️

Hi Lads,
Thanks for sorting me out with those bushings, they both turned up in the end. Appreciate you guys doing that. All the best now.
P. W.
The best skate shop in the UK for sure. The owners are the cornerstones of skateboarding in Nottingham and are friendly and welcoming, exactly what you want from a skate shop. Get yourself in there.

Walked in for some new shoes. They have a surprisingly big selection for such a small shop. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Walked out in my new shoes and a big smile on my face. 10/10

Treated my 15 year old like he was a friend from way back and spoke to him about how he rides before setting him up with the right bearings and not the most expensive. Why buy online when you can get great advice from staff who care about what's right for you? Totally amazing.

Wanted to purchase an adult helmet and pads for roller skates. Even though they didn't have my size in stock, they were super helpful giving me advice on what to look for. Great customer service!
M. L.
Fantastic skater owned shop, operated by passionate and extremely knowledgeable people.
Always wanting to ensure a pleasant visit, you feel like every single purchase you make is with you in mind, making sure you get what you need.
Haven't had a bad experience here in over two years of being a regular customer.
Highly recommended

Really great business - my children expressed an interest in skateboarding and I was able to kit them out without breaking the bank. A great and informative retail experience too! Rob and Neil were great to deal with, clearly knowledgeable and passionate about skateboarding, but sensible on safety too. My kids love their new boards. Well worth the visit!

As a mum to an aspiring 10 year old skateboarder; I wanted to leave a review for forty two. It was our first visit yesterday and both Rob and Neil made us feel welcome, they were knowledgeable and clearly passionate. They spoke to both myself and my son to help with buying a set up. Their service really is second to none and we will definitely be back. Thanks guys.
A. M.
Friendly welcome, excellent advice from staff especially as we had little understanding of the range and types of boards available. Brilliant range of goods run by enthusiastic owners. A must visit for beginners like my son who want to get into boarding.
F. S.
Such a sick place to buy skate related stuff. Amazing variety of decks, wheels, trucks, clothes and shoes. Definitely one of the best skate shops in Nottingham
E. W.
We brought our daughter over today to choose a board for her birthday, the guys here are passionate about skating and it really shows. The guys are great with the kids helping to choose and build there boards. They provide a great hospitality service that made the purchase of the board part of the expirance. A massive thanks guys you made my daughters day.
D. C.
Super friendly staff, Scott took some time to explain to me all the different components of a skateboard and helped me work out what size board, type or trucks and wheels I wanted. No pressure to buy and super happy with my board, and will be back soon. Great value for money with prices similar to online (but you get to see and touch the products/test them to see how they feel and you support your local shop.)
D. L.
Fantastic customer service. Explained everything to my 10 year old son. Sales team knowledge is first class.
Thank you.
W. K.
The BEST shop! Very knowledgeable and friendly :)))
A. A.
Got my sister a board form here a few weeks ago and got myself one yesterday. Great service. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I will definitely be coming back here if I need anything else for skating.
J. B.
My 10 year old step son wanted to visit a skate shop and spend his Christmas money. We drove up from Leicester and it was well worth the visit. The guys here were friendly and welcoming. They took the timeout with everyone and shared their knowledge, no matter their age or level. My step son ended up buying a new board and a few other things and couldn't wait to get home!

Great shop, I went here yesterday to buy my son a skateboard the staff were great,, really knowledgeable and friendly I'm now tempted to start skating again in my 40s 👍

Excellent experience from beginning to end. Thankyou for making my daughters 15th birthday so special.
So much knowledge and advice. Super busy in the shop but the guys working there made to time for us and everyone else. Top notch customer service. My daughter has the board she’s wanted for a long time. Also advised on prices to without ripping us off. I didn’t have a clue what to get her but these guys did and helped her to choose the bits from scratch to build a bespoke board. Thankyou soooo much. Also Thankyou for the free tool to do the wheels. Lovely little touch for her birthday.

Best skate shop! Easily the best customer service ive ever received from any shop for anything. I was hoping to get back into skating after 10 years out and asked for help - Rob was insanely knowledgable and incredibly honest and gave me tonnes of time and space to decide on deck, trucks and wheels but was always there to answer any questions while effortlessly juggling customers. Huge shout out.
L. T.
Visited here today with our 12 year old daughter who wanted to replicate a board she’d been borrowing. The guy in the shop was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, she came away so pleased with her new board and so chuffed she has the same deck as him!👌 thank you for your help, we had a great experience and will be back!

Best customer service ever received. I took my 13 year old son (new to skateboarding) to the shop this week. We told the staff we were just browsing. He brought with him his new skateboard (purchased elsewhere, whilst on holiday) and wanted to know in the future what upgrades were needed. They spent the next 30 minutes talking to my son about what he should be looking to upgrade and all the tech things about his board. Was utterly impressed and it is clear the staff love their job & hobby. Will certainly head back whenever an upgrade is needed. Was so impressed my son purchased some trucks and they even sat with him and fitted them giving him advice on how to do it. BRILLIANT.
A.
Insanely good skate shop, you will not find a friendlier group of staff!! They're so helpful if you need advice and make you feel so welcomed everytime, strongly recommend you support your local Nottingham skate shops!! Plus their range of products is massive and always up to date!
M. R.
Such an amazing shop, the customer service is insane. Something went wrong with my order, due to covid-19 and got it immediately sorted out. Keep it up you guys, never been treated this well at a skateshop!
M. D.
Quite possibly the best shop in Nottingham - bar none. The staff are warm, welcoming and expert. The minute you walk in, you are greeted with a genuine smile. My lad has been going in since he was 9 (now 14) and has always been treated by the staff as a valued customer who should be given exactly the same level of service as an adult. He (of course) adores the place and refuses to shop online for any boards, wheels, trucks etc. It's always got to he fourtytwo.
Other Nottingham retailers should go in for a lesson on how to build customer loyalty.
I can't sing their praises highly enough.
A.
Very good service, they were really helpful and definitely know what they are on about, I would say it's the best place to get skateboard from, would definitely recommend!
R. Y.
Very insightful gentleman. Older skater like myself but much better. Depite in the process of closing the store he still managed to speak to me and provide some guidance. Very friendly. Will definitely be back.
Kind regards
Ray

Guys in the shop helped me pick and build a deck despite being incredibly busy. Really friendly advice and weren't pushy for you to buy the expensive stuff. Highly recommended.
T.
Top notch customer service. Made to feel at home in the shop, its a relaxed atmosphere with friendly advice. No problem with me spending ages choosing a board and the whole thing was set up in no time, their website even lists all the parks for someone like me starting out after a (long) break.
S. W.
Always friendly, always helpful. They are really knowledgeable and happy to share that knowledge. Forty Two cannot be faulted
T. H. D.

I've decided to start skating again with my lad after 25 years off the baord and at the ago of 40! Rob and Scott were a pleasure to deal with, very helpful, informative and made me feel relaxed and inspired to crack on! Can certianly recommend Forty Two for all of your skateboard needs!
P. W.
A fantastic shop. The only place to go for skate stuff. Really helpful and friendly people. Excellent service. Very highly recommended!
M. J.
Good shop, helpful staff (Rob and Scott)
Traveled from Lincoln to get some elbow ( etc.) Pads ended up with a pad set plus hoodies, T's, and a Cruiser!
😂
Scott spent time to ensure a proper fit on the protective gear for my 12 year old and Rob sold me (at 47 years old) the board! The prices match online only stores and I'd rather give my hard-earned' to these lovely blokes.
Great 👍🏻Shop.
Defo be back!
W. S.
Very welcoming to novice skaters. Knowledgeable and helpful. Good prices. Lots of after service offered. Don't bother with the Internet for boards
S. W.
It is nearly 30 years since I last had a board and when my nephew started skating I was telling him about all the stuff we used to do in the days before skateparks and stuff and all the do's and don'ts I learned the hard way.
So when he asked me where he should go to get some new bits for his board I was at a bit of a loss as to who to recommend as most of the places I used to go have gone.
after a bit of googleing I found these guys and boy am I glad I did.
the first visit to the shop was on a Saturday and although busy the guy behind the counter took time to help us to get the right wheels and bearings not the most expensive ones he could find off the shelf ether, the right ones for his board.
He also spotted that the wheels we had bought were quite a bit bigger than the one's on the board so threw in some risers and longer bolts no charge!!
I returned on Sunday to pick up some new trucks and received the same high level of customer service and expertise.
this is a skate shop run by skaters for skaters and has made me start thinking about getting a long board to cruse around on :)
thanks guys.
A. I.
Friendly and helpful staff. Very knowledgeable too. Have a really big range of products. Clothes, shoes, skateboards, accessories etc. Always up to date and the staff go out of their way to help you.

Rob & Scotty are the soundest dudes, and have mastered the art of recommending products to kids who are maybe just starting out skateboarding. They're clearly doing what they're doing because they love skateboarding and want to do the best for this city's local scene. Friendly atmosphere to come into and meet other local skaters.
M.
