Found some useful kit for my spring Highland adventure. The staff were very helpful. With the discount club card and an additional discount for membership in another club I left paying a competitive price for all items...

I used to go to this shop all the time, mainly because it was very local and usually could find something on special offer and staff were helpful. Now it seems very hard to find anything of any real quality that is not very expensive and most of the staff are too inexperienced to be helpful (impenetrable layers of management). Stock also seems to always be very low of anything that fits me! So am starting to go further afield for my outdoor gear shopping. Still giving it 3 stars because occasionally find something and I have hope that it can improve.

Finley was very helpful on the phone, and did exactly what she promised, i.e. locating and reserving the correct item. Upon collection, I was served by the most amazing, friendly and helpful Staff, particularly Victoria who was just absolutely brilliant. Her greeting from the moment I walked in and made the enquiry, to her clear guidance, and to finally making the payment. Excellent service Victoria, thank you Adam too, and the whole Team.

was super busy because of the bank holiday weekend but still got served quickly, the range of stuff is good, you just MUST have your mobile with you and check prices against Internet shopping so you can take advantage of the price match, the shoes I was getting ended up being about £40 cheaper for that reason.
A. W.
Got a puncture and Carl fixed it within minutes and gave me some really useful advice. Always buy my camping gear here but didn't know they have a bike department upstairs. Can't recommend enough.
C. C.
Review for company in general. Ordered online and was a brilliant experience. Great price on a bbq- delivered as promised. Would definitely deal with this company again
A. C.
Easy to park. Once inside We went to find the item we would've like to puchase but they only had items on display, thinking these item were more nickable I asked an assistant if they kept the item out the back. I don't know if I caught the assistant on a bad day but he seemed to be quiet nonchalant and it sounded like I must of been stupid to ask such a question. They had the other items we wanted so that's why I marked it 3 stars.

Go outdoors is a great store. I called in to collect an on line order and it was busy. It was an excellent deal with Membership discount - a pair of leather Snowdon II walking boots for £39, an £81 saving on RRP. Can't beat it.
M. W.
Shop looks out dated but staff are more than helpfull and friendly. This is right next door to a camp site, or should i say the camp site is situated behind go outdoors. Mainly caravans and mobile homes.
P. S.
As a building it's terrible, wrong location and it's outdated, but once you look past that the staff are friendly, yes there could be more but with how much online has taken over you can't have 30 members of staff, the ones you do find tend to be trained or at least know another that they will get, no question is too big or goes unanswered.
Some areas like the footwear "box" area is small but the staff will shoot of to try and find what you are after (it's a little bit of an odd ball of a store).
Upstairs there is lots of well stocked shelves and usually only 1 person running around but they know about all the products and if they can't answer they get this guy (who seems to be everywhere) and he answers with great knowledge.
All in all the staff and products are amazing just a shame you have to look past the facts that the carpark is horrible, the building is in the middle of nowhere with little advertising, the inside of the building is out dated and cramped, oh and don't mention the website.
C. G.
I went upstairs to look at the backpacks again. Last time I was here I stood and listened for more than half an hour while someone explained about the backpacks to another customer. Now I had to act. The backpack I have has totally disintegrated on the inside, so time for a new one and the sale was on.
First I was approached by Liam, who was very kind and polite but admitted he wasn't an expert on backpacks. He then got his colleague Adam to help me. He was brilliant at it, let me try on different Osprey ones. I had my eye on the Ariel type because my nephew is called Ariel and that would be so nice for him but that backpack was a medium and felt a bit too big. But the Aura felt just right, so I bought that. I am very happy with my choice and excitingly looking forward to using it in the great outdoors soon.

A wide range of walking and camping products. To get the lower price offered you need a Go Outdoors Card £5-00/year). So not only do they get your marketing info, which probably they sell but you have to pay them as well.
N. K.
It looks like a shed that's about to fall over, but it's actually quite a treasure trove! I was surprised at the range of gear available. Staff are friendly and helpful, though not generally as knowledgeable as those in cotswold outdoors. If you're looking for outdoor or camping kit that's not too technical it's probably your best bet in Oxford.
N. W.
Great service today.
I wish I could find my size in the clothing, but I never can. But did get exactly what I needed for my daughter's DofE
M. S.
Absolutely love go outdoors staff very helpfully and nothing to much trouble. Great place for all your camping and caravan needs and more and great prices .highly recommended.
A. R.
Camping and outdoor items all under one roof, before going sign up for their customer card you easily cover the cost in savings.
G. S.
Very impressed by the sheer range of their clothing. Hats, gloves, socks, coats.....
We went there to buy some walking shoes.
Quick service from lots of choice. Happy customer!
H. C.
Usual go-outdoor fare. Good value and range but maybe having stock supply problems like most companies. For first time that they did not have items required.
t. w.
Brilliant helpful staff, great location alongside the Oxford camp site. They even had stock of 6kg Calor gas bottles in stock!
K.
Very happy with my camping equipment, discounted cooler box, foldable chairs etc
Sign up to their Member's Discount Card only £5p.a for huge savings.
M. D.
Wonderful, I am an irregular customer, however I will continue to buy from here.
Shopping for shoe insoles (oh yeah, I know how to live) and facing a significant variety of options, I think my hesitancy must have drawn over the assistant (I didn't get his name) who clearly explained how each type was intended to help, which in turn sped up my decision, and so to that assistant I am certainly grateful.
P. F.
Went in for blister plasters and 1000 mile socks. The guy that was in the shoe section gave some great advice and was pleasant and knowledgeable without being any way cocky. Parking was plentiful. Checkout was easy enough, signing up for a new discount card was fast even though there was obviously someone new on the till. Great prices and great staff. Top marks 👍🏻
Update. The socks and blister plasters have really done the job. I'm able to crack on with more walks now.
S. B.
Professional and friendly. Only complaint would be that one item I ordered was not there despite having received the email stating that it was ready for collection. That said you cannot beat the prices or range available.
C. W.
Really impressed, huge range of clothing, lots of choices and the staff were excellent. Only down side you have to dodge the potholes in the car park! But despite that well worth a visit!
M. C.
Bought some walking boots today, was helped by Emily who was lovely and had a great understanding of the products which meant I was able to find the perfect boots within my price range and that fits all my needs. Was tidy and organised, will definitely be returning, thank you Emily !
T. P.
Very useful for catering / gas supplies. Everywhere else in Oxford didn't seem to do large, sturdy tables, outdoor gas cookers, or gas accessories, but these guys came through.
They are a little expensive, but their kit is sturdy and reliable. I also found the staff helpful in their advice, without being overbearing or hanging around.
Not sure what they're like for camping, but their kit seemed pretty comprehensive.
M. S.
On the most part, friendly and helpful staff.
Despite external appearances, it's actually quite big inside and there is pretty much just as much selection as any other Go Outdoors (they even stock a good selection of ice axes which is a bit of a rarity; they're often online only!).
I've only docked a star because in order to have the good selection stuff is crammed in quite tightly, and in general it's not an overly pleasant shopping experience (but if you know what you want then of course this is not an issue at all).
P. D.
A little crowed for my liking.
It really could do with an update.
Needs more light as it's a little dark inside.
Plenty of offers good selection of clothing and camping gear plus this also has a campsite on its doorstep.
T. Z.
There is variety of clothes and shoes, their quality is good. The staff has been helpful. We will recommend!
S. E.
Bike selection very good, bike parking quite poor.
K. L.
Travelled further than I really wanted just for the service and expertise. Fantastic. Would recommend
H. P.
I was somewhat underwhelmed by the exterior of Go Outdoors' warehouse. I wasn't expecting such a shabby interior either, and to cap it all, the checkout staff made me feel like I was in Aldi buying commodities, not a service-centric business. The shelves were all a bit empty and they didn't have what I was after either. Not a good experience
J. C.
Great shop to have around. Ideal for popping in and grabbing anything camping or outdoors related. Would be better if they done a varied range of products. Prices can be either really good value or really high. It really needs a steady middle ground
J. C.
although I must admit that some of the products they offer are of good quality The prices are very inflated
E. S.
The staff were great, they reserved a tent about 30 minutes in advance of me arriving. I'm disabled and they really did help with anything I needed. They had a massive sale on too which made the prices outstanding! I managed to buy everything I needed for a camping trip, with kids whilst saving hundreds of pounds! I'll definitely be returning here if I need anything else!
R. J.
I love go outdoors and there's a man in the oxford store who has fixed my tent before and that was excellent service from him and today I went in for hiking boots and I've got bad foot problems and the same man was excellent and helpful. I give 10/10 device the shop could do with updating but I'm happy
A. A.
The staff are great, very helpful especially Paul who is very knowledgeable. The store was poorly stocked thought, 4 items they only had in one size which was incredibly frustrating and they have a more limited range than other Go outdoors I've been too. The staff make the store though
B. B.
Friendly informative staff. Good range of stock, went to buy walking boots was not disappointed with range of products. Discount card definitely worth having
R. W.
Helpful on the telephone, holding a product for 24 hours. Helpful in store. Great discounts on some big brands at the moment.. They also can price match. Remember: the entrance is at the rear.. Ignore that the street front looks awful / closed.. Enter via car park at rear, and this store is Oxford's best outdoor store.
J. W.
Our experience was OK. Pricing seemed good for what we were looking for. The staff we spoke to where very friendly and helpful. The only thing letting the side down is the building, it was a bit like a leaky tent bucket everywhere.
K. A.
Messy store. Unhelpful till staff
P. C.
Went in to get a pair of walking boots today and got the most fantastic customer service by a young lady on the shoe/boots section. She was incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A credit to the store.
A. B.
Great store. Good range of stuff. Very dated premises though which means getting around is pretty clunky with covid rules etc.
P. T.
I visited the store this morning and was served by Mark. He was very efficient, helpful and trustworthy. Great service. Thank you.
B.
Very helpful when i went in to buy an airbed. I was unsure what to go for and the two men i spoke to were very knowledgeable and gave good advice. I was happy they didn't just try to sell me the most expensive item. Thank you.
R.
Warm and welcoming on arrival, they've always had what I've needed in stock if not normally the next day, big discounts if you have a card (£5 a year) come on what's £5 to moan about! Never had a problem will continue to do business
A. L.
Shopping at Go Outdoors in Oxford is always a pleasure. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. If they haven't got an item they will try their best to source it for you. I find the advice they offer extremely valuable as most of the guys there are genuine outdoor enthusiasts who use the kit they sell on a regular basis.
Go Outdoors have some really competitive sales policies which I have tested and true to their policy, they have honoured it without a quibble. They offer shop service with unbeatable internet prices. Its a pleasure to visit a shop where the customer requirements are the focus and not to have to go through a rehearsed sales pitch. Just good honest advice.
P. A.
Went to Oxford store after checking their stock online for a tent only to find they didn't have the model I was after. Pity, but on the plus side the staff were friendly and helpful.
J. 2.
It's a go outdoors, the staff were helpful.
P. J.
Great prices and very helpful staff. The only negative thing I would say is don't trust their stated stock levels. A few times I've popped in to look at something, their on line stock checker says it's in stock, but get there to find its not .
S. I.
Excellent service. The girl on the till Josie was so lovely and helpful couldn't fault her! One of the most loveliest members of staff there
S. M.
Friendly staff, very helpfull.
H. H.
Good range of products, good parking and staff seemed friendly. The only thing that's let's the experience down is that the store itself is rather grotty, very tired carpets, bits of ceiling coming off.
H. W.
Good range if products with parking at the back. Friendly staff, store seemed quite old and had no aircon so quite hot on a summer's day!
J. T.
Builds is tatty but service was okay.
J. G.
Good store & staff but car park is full of seriously large pot holes that damage low cars. Also wish they get rid of the frankly stupid £5 loyalty card idea !
J.
Great shop, lots of different options for outdoor wear and camping gear
F. A. Z.
Very good prices there is half price black friday evet currently.
J. A.
Brilliant place, staff very helpful
R. W.
Lots of great bargains, good range, knowledgeable and helpful staff.
C. M.
Outstanding service from the manager and staff of the Oxford store in sorting problems arising from misleading marketing info. As a results I got the products I wanted at the price I wanted.
S. D.
Great advice from very knowledgeable staff member, he actually stopped us buying the footwear as it was the wrong product for what we needed. Very honest.
H. T.
Reasonable range and friendly + helpful staff, but interior quite messy and can be difficult to find correct size. Much easier to just shop on their website and then come in to try things on and buy what you want.
O. H.
Brilliant store with great staff they’ve been so helpful with doing up our camper van. Paul was really helpful and very knowledgable, really useful place. Thanks for your help.
R. B.
If you're a member, sometimes the prices are good. However, they tend to not have all of the items in stock that they advertise, and the shipping/delivery system online leaves much to be desired.
T. B.
I like the shop for good choice of camping stuff and good, helpful customer service... but the building itself and the parking outside is in a terrible condition!!
J. T.
Friendly staff and good deals!
N. R. F.
Brilliant shop every thing you need to go camping and all outside activities 👍
M. P.

Y. A. Y.
Great prices, very friendly and helpful staff. Very happy with my purchase here!

Some great products at a good price but the prices are often a bit of a mystery with very poor labelling, especially for the bags. Queues for check out are also slow.
